59:40 rare shit take from zesty.
Ruining someone's life over a video game? Really?
Also if such an approach to offenders worked, then the countries with death penalty wouldn't have crime and yet they do.

Difference is, zesty expressed opinions about the game, the bot hosters are actually costing valve money and time working on fixing it, I think it's a bit different and using the blanket term of "ruining someones life over a video game" is ignorant considering shit happens all the time in video games where people get charged with legal action like with the gta6 leaker

Zesty, you will never see this but I want to say this. You may not want to take a lot of credit, and many creators won’t give it to you, but your video on idle bots was the kick in the balls the community needed. Everyone knew the steam number was wrong, but very few actually knew it was accounting for at least 70% (if you knew it, good for you, but a lot of people didn’t). And I’m probably the prime example. I figured that with a high player count valve would eventually come to their senses and realize there was still profit to be had to at least invest a little in this game. After watching your video, I was devastated, I felt like the game was doomed. And then fixtf2 came(and even directly mentioned your video in weezy’s announcement vid). Would it work? I don’t know. I still don’t know. They clearly didn’t care about it the first round through. So reason do we have to be positive toward valve this time? You were right. Valve deserves every bit of humiliation we have given them. And I am not going to stop humiliating, boycotting, and hurting their potential sales toward deadlock until they have made a consistent long term effort to maintaining this game.

    • @CoolSs
      @CoolSs 3 месяца назад +1

even if the bot video gave us pain, it actually positive thing. now we know we have like 1000 aim bot account out there. this is considerably much easier to deal with. and it mean, even if it easy to buy stolen steam account or make new one, it is an easier treadmill work. tf2 don't have cheating industry like CS, you only got bot hoster loser and hobbyist cheat maker devs.
that being said, if we get quick play back. that will be a bigger blow to the bot than anything. #BringBackQuickplay

So if Valve has been working on this for two years why did they make the whole treadmill work argument?
I have a feeling this anti-bot system was intended for CS2 and wouldn't be surprised if TF2 is now being used as testing grounds for it. I know that's a hugely cynical take but it's a hypothetical I can't help but bring up. Not even out of malice against Valve.
I wonder how things would've been if TF2 never went F2P. Maybe dead because people would've hated having microtransactions in a paid title. Even though it already was that in the past, and newer games already are paid but full of microtransactions because of it.
Or maybe it remaining paid would've prevented this bullshit.

As someone who has played competetive Counter Strike for close to a decade about a decade ago, I hate ESports, for 4 reasons:
1: Every game being made, is now made to be fully optimized to be the next big ESports. Casual games are very far and few between.
2: Everyone is sweating really fucking hard because now being exceptionally good at video games can be a genuine way to bring food on the table. Casual players are very far and few between.
3: Match Making replaced server browsers and the community inside of games have ceased to exist leading to massive amount of toxicity because no one can relate to one another or get to become friends, I met most of my friends in CSCZ, CSS, TFC and TF2 about a decade ago.
4: Before ESports, competitive gaming was already super sweaty, we were trying to be the best and would try to win no matter what, but the community itself outside of matches was a lot more chill, before and after matches, we all were friends, now, everyone fucking hates eachother, ESports not only ruined casual gaming, but also ruined competitive gaming too.
As someone who has played competitive Counter Strike for close to a decade about a decade ago, I hate how me and my friends are partially responsible for the shit show we have today, I have good memories, but was it worth it? I don't know, I'm not so sure. I guess the real culprit is money, money always ruin everything, but aat first I was excited, we were recognised for what we were doing, but when I wanted to relax, I played TFC, then TF2, and it was great, I miss that, now to relax, I have to play a single player game with cheats... it's really not the same.

Banning the bots is fine and shows that valve has a modicum of care, which is fine and should be seen as a good thing, but then matchmaking is still a terrible system, competitive was still a mistake, the nerfs were still a mistake, the system itself still facilitates bots and the game will still be vulnerable to them the next time valve gets lazy and the cycle of hating on valve starts all over again. What can people do to make TF2 future proof against bots? I don't know. You can't JUST beg valve to bring quickplay back or revert the last 2 updates...

Well, the answer is actually quite Obvious, ban waves, usually come unexpected. They meant to surprise and catch the Banned ones Off Guard. Telling the Community, would also tell the Cheaters and Bot Hosters, which takes away the Element of Surprise.
And it would give them less time to prepare for that Said, Ban wave.

I'm gonna say this once again that telling people to boycott the game by not buying anything from the in-game store is literally impossible. Yes, some may do it but others will still going to buy them either way, since that's their choice and their own wallet. So yeah, you have to be delusional for even saying that

Noone asks that every single player should stop paying for stuff ingame. It's impossible i agree, but people that may listen, could make a difference by not paying for a terrible service. It makes more impact on a game and maybe Valve, than a petition. As many people when petition was anounced said "What do i lose from trying?" why not try to not spend money on a game and ask another players to do the same? What do you lose form trying?

@@TheZerken i would agree with you if the actual people spending on the in game shop weren't a literal drop in the bucket, compared to basically anyone with a single functioning braincell who's using 3rd parties and getting stuff cheaper. even boycotting the new case wouldn't do much, as the main reasons it would get unboxed is new unusuals, but the new limited pool would stay locked to the new case even when the update ends, making new hats with new effects unboxable later too, just at lower odds. the big spenders would just buy older cases and keys from 3rd parties anyways for forever unusuals, as unlike in cs, we have tradeable keys. my honest opinion until today was either do in person protests, or hope to gaben himself that the few people working on the game start doing their job, and by the looks of it he has been, lets just pray he keeps it up. who know, with this and as time passes, maybe they decide to hire another intern, or full-time employees crazy enough to do tf2 full time and fix everything else. but, for now, i am contempt. my favorite game gets to be enjoyed by the people for another while to come.
