Hi, I was the one who had the idea for the warpaint "Mannhattan Mann'd" 1:12:42 and asked my friend (Crimson Corsair the other person listed on the warpaints page) was learning to make warpaints (this one being his 4th one uploaded, and I only helped slightly with feedback on the one he made before this one) but i'm glad you got to see it, and I know it's a basic kind of warpaint but I wanted it to be not fancy and more related to the map (hence the screenshots for red team on it) We actually spent a while trying to find good enough textures to base it off of that wouldn't be too noisy as well as fitting for both teams. I am not the one who did the actual texture work but I was there giving feedback and crimson (my friend who is the one learning warpaint creation) was making my idea a reality with it. And I am aware Team Serviced already exists (as from a message in the chat during it) so could work on it more for a version 2 perhaps with tweaked color but otherwise i'm personally happy with how it was but wanted to hear thoughts/criticism of it. I do have other warpaint ideas I will/have been testing with the same friend and if they wind up being looked at by you again i'll always take whatever criticism is sent to heart and work on things, as for atleast Mannhattan Mann'd (or the kinda better name I saw in chat the Mannhatter) I had a theme that fit tf2 based upon the industrial map of Mannhattan and kept it simple to not make it messy.

1:43:10 The reason this warpaint doesn't look like metal is because for some reason creator decided to create lighting directly on texture instead of using albedo shine.
That armour for heavy would not be as bad as a medieval mode-themed set if it had something like a team-coloured checkerboard across the metal and removed the weird paint regions.
Why don’t the workshop creators make weapon unusual effects for once instead of the same overhead garbage we keep getting. Atleast it’ll give hats a break and bring more desire to weapon skins instead of getting the same isotope, cool, and hot effect. Personally I think they should release a Halloween war paint case with 3 event only effects instead of a cosmetic case.
@@ColonelKlink1965 True but if most creators came up with primarily weapon effects/weapon skins rather than cosmetics this upcoming event, valve would be forced to release a war paint case as that’s the only content they’d have.

the workshopper could've added team color trimmings to the armor for that heavy set and even some sort big team emblem too on the front and back of it. but that would've only maybe fix one of the issues the set has.
Would you still be mad that the "taunts" that are actually emotes were their own category in a separate tab in-game than taunts? Also, what were your thoughts on Conga & Krazotsky Kick when it was released?
Zesty i can see your point on many things like class and team recognition, and what does and doesnt fit the tf2 art style but can you explain your issue with "emotes" not being taunts, people like to be friendly, and like to mess around with "emotes" and i dont see any harm in it
Taunts inherently are meant to jeer at someone. Mocking the player. "Emotes" are "taunts" that don't fall into that category. The game is obviously not a gritty hardcore shooter, it has a reserved level of comedy incorporated into its characters and tone, but it's also not a wacky goofy toy funland where everyone is playing miniature instruments and riding go karts. It's not what the game was made to be. "Emotes" spit in the face of the very intentional tones and themes of the game. Throwing in goofy activities, like scout bumbling around on a pogo-stick, or the pyro waving a sparkly wand around, devalue the very intentionally reserved level of comedy, the tone of the game, and the original taunts that were baked in to flesh out and reflect the personalities of the mercs. Taunts once served real purpose -building character, setting the tone, and letting players jeer at other players, immersing themselves in that tone. Emotes do none of these things. There is no value or charm in "emotes." Now that a very meticulously and thoughtfully designed part of the game has been turned into a microtransaction, the only purpose they serve is to make the owner of the purchased microtransaction get a dopamine hit, clapping their hands together with glee as the hired mercenary that blows people's heads off sits down and plays in a kiddie pool or rides a toy scooter. It's all become a blur of hollow, grey, soulless dreck that's done nothing but devalue the charm of TF2. And I won't change my stance.
Most of the time, “messing around” with taunts involves sitting in or near your spawn for the entire round effectively AFK, wasting a server slot that could’ve been used by someone who actually wants to engage with the game.
There is no issue, he just needs something to talk and complain about, because the game doesn't get real, meaningful updates anymore and there's literally nothing left to discuss, everything's been talked about a trillion times before, it's been milked dry for more than a decade
@@zestyalt "I won't change my stance" lmao You already walked back on your "stances" like 3000 times, you change them on the fly :D You were totally fine with these "emotes" in 2022, but now that there's nothing to talk about you found a new thing to milk for views and attention. It's the same with hats and other things, it's this constant revisionism bs, you always find new things to complain about, even if it wasn't an issue before, it's really inconsistent and weird. Something's fine one time, but the next time the exact thing is done or you're looking at the exact same thing again it's not fine, just make up your mind. I feel like eventually it's just going to be "I want nothing but vanilla game", which is fine if that's how you actually feel, but I wish you were at least more consistent, open about it, and less of a fence sitter for the sake of appealing to your audience and getting attention.
