Thanks for letting us know! I just got back from a client flight, and saw your update post the moment I got on my system. Looks like I'll be doing some updates!
Thanks Draymond! I updated my Mavik 2 Zoom, and was grounded until I did so. While I was able to do this before watching your video, this info is extremely valuable. Now I'm lookiing to install a RFID moduleo my Phantom 4. Any insights about a good module let me know, and thanks for your excellent info. I am now a happy subsctiber.
I'm updated, it also updated the SC. I had to get the app update from the pull down notification tab. I checked and all my numbers match up, I hope it doesn't have any affect on running Litchi, guess I'll find out tomorrow. Thanks for letting us know, appreciate you Dray.
I updated my Mavic 2 Pro when these updates came out. Today my FAA drone registration needed to be renewed, so I was able to provide the Remote ID number for it before the renewal payment.
Were you getting this RC .0072 version? As such, Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom users can now update their aircraft to v01.00.0797, while the DJI GO 4 App for both iOS and Android needs to be bumped up to v4.3.60. The remote controller firmware, however, will remain unchanged at v01.00.0770.
I haven't seen any info on how to update each battery, is it necessary? Or do I have to mount the Pro camera and the Zoom individually to update the cameras. I have the Mavic 2 with both cameras. Is it just the Aircraft or the Aircraft with each battery?
I have a newer tablet and I connect it to the USB plug at the bottom of the remote controller (where your phone normally goes) instead of on the side. The DJI Go 4 app shows the following version numbers: App 4.3.60 Aircraft 01.00.0797 Remote Controller 01.00.00770 Precise Fly Safe (Aircraft) 01.00.01.29 Precise Fly Safe (for App) 01.00.01.29 Basic Fly Safe 01.00.01.09 The App and the Remote Controller do not have an option shown to check for update. Any ideas?
@@RecoveryoneDrone In the video the Remote Controller version was given as 01.01.0072. My listed version number is 01.00.00770. From what others have said, the 01.00.00770 is the correct number. I'm curious why it doesn't give me an option to check for updates on the Remote Controller. Thank you.
@@RecoveryoneDrone It seems that it does, but I have to charge the drone battery first. The standard Controller ver: 1.00.0770 shows as current on DJI Assisant. The Crystal Sky has it's own ver of Goo4 and it's updating to Ver:03.00.03.00. This update does cover RID update data on the Crystal Sky Go4.
Mavic 2 Zoom is not updated RID . Update must be complete complying with FAA Drone Standard Remote ID . DJI complying RID UAS must start with 1581F. Please make a video with graphics and instructions. In a more clear way. After Update is complete , go to FAA Drone Zone and edit the already registered UAS . There is no need to pay the $5.00 paid initially when registered the first time.
Thanks for your info but i do not have the version you mention and using the app to check for update sates I have the latest version. How do I force the update ?
This update is for U.S. flyers, as it updates the aircraft to be compatible with RID. You can check with DJI assist program to check for new update 01.00.790. Also make sure you update the Go4 app to 4.3.60, and if you use Litchi update to 2.15.3
I am a usa flyer but still have not recieved the update of 01.00.0797 ? wondering if this is coming in phases or all compitable drones at once? @@RecoveryoneDrone
Thank you for this information. Does this update work on the Smart Controller as well or just the original controller? Will they have to be updated individually?
It shouldn't, I did a video showing me use litchi after I updated. If you get error (180) I did a phone on that also. Make sure you are using the latest verisons of Pix4D.
@@RecoveryoneDrone Thank you for your reply. Yes, I saw your RUclips where you conducted a Litchi flight after updating. I use Pix4D extensively and I’m still scared to update and lose the use of over 70 Pix4D saved flight missions. That said, why would DJI create a firmware update that would prohibit the use of their own GS Pro app. It makes no sense.
The list is published by the FAA, it will be updated. My MEA was updated in September and it is still not on the list yet. I'm sure DJI or any other manufacture doing updates had to submit complaince information to the FAA before rolling out an update to the public.
Not to put you off, but there is nothing in the requirements that makes you as the PIC responsible for the actual broadcasting of the system. I say that, due to the many that have reported that they are unable to verify if the signal is going out. Some say they pick it up while others say no. The regulations state that the PIC is required to have RID installed (turned on) or externally installed (turned on) nothing about being able to verify the distance/strengh of the signal. Sorry
Thank for your help, I updated my Mavic 2 zoom remote controlled firmware according to your video and It worked!! Thank you!
Glad it helped

thanks what i'm trying to figure out, can't update the RC
I'll let you know then if it also covers the zoom.
Hope it does Mel.
Hi Dray, thanks for the info on Mavic 2 Pro update. I'm assuming there is no remote id update for Inspire 2's. Thanks!!

I used 2 batteries yesterday with no issues about needing an update. The update is mainly for the RC & Aircraft
Good new info dray.
Nice! I should try updating my Zoom.

You have the current firmware, what issue are you having?

@williambryan2804 , that version from the video was for the SC, it may be different for phones & tablets.
very kewl video ...wish I still owned one !!
Thanks Bill
Do you know or does it say if that covers the zoom as well since it's the same airframe?
It did not directly state it, but I think it should

You can use the DJI Assisant 2 for Mavics, then go to DJI D/L apps for the recent Go 4 app update.

Yes, ruclips.net/video/525Ri_bFLkY/видео.html
hi! Does this update modify the flight altitude limit?
Not to my knowledge
Will the update prevent me from using third party way point apps such as Pix4D and MapPilot since DJI states that GS Pro will no longer work?
