My god, it's just that easy? Can't wait to boot my old WinXP tower and copy it over to my laptop. Here's hoping it works out

I have broken Windows 10 PC that I took the boot drive out of. That boot drive is perfectly good but the PC motherboard it came out of is shot. I want to virtualize that disk so that I can boot the old windows 10 installation in either Vbox or VMWare. Will your instructions work for that? If not, do you have any ideas? Thanks!

The sky is the limit but beware of the drive corruption that could happen

Via windows this looks easy... Via Linux this is impossible and requires all kinds of trial n error n all kinds of lying "free" programs... Ugh weeks later I copied it onto an actual blank hdd but vm won't recognize the virtual drive - _-
