For a player with a small budget and in order to be able to play all modern games, in ultra , 60 (+ -) fps - the 4060 is an excellent option. There is no point in considering the 4050 and 4070. The 4050 is weaker, the 4070 has a very weak performance increase. It makes sense to choose either the 4060 for budget gaming at ultra settings 60FPS(+ -), or the 4080-4090 for playing with maximum frames per second.

It's actually odd that frame generation doesn't push it over the VRAM limit. From what I've seen, DLSS 3 on other GPUs actually uses 1-2GB of extra VRAM. Here it's only a minor increase. Or maybe that is the reason you are seeing more artifacts. It might be bugging out.
Keep in mind that when he turned on frame generation the DLSS mode was changed to auto which can be seen at about the 2:14 minute mark. Not sure if auto uses a lower resolution compared to quality but that could have been the case in this instance.
@@Voidstroyer Auto DLSS adjust accordingly to the resolution. On 1080p or similar, it usually on Quality.

I got a similar laptop but with a Ryzen 7 7840HS CPU and the RTX 4060. it is a beast !!! I have been playing BF 2042 smooth as butter for the past 2 days, really loving it. I also got myself a 2TB PCIE-e 4.0 SSD added. Also i have undervolted slightly and overclocked the GPU. Kinda stays the same as stock temperatures but much better performance when you do that.

I have msi sword 15 A 12v ( i7 12th gen with rtx 4060 ) and I got at high quality and rtx on+ dlss at balanced avg 105 fps, I think this is so cool

That's amazing how without the frame generation the performance is close to what I get with my 2060 110W laptop.
I'm wondering if I will really see a huge boost to updrage to a 4070 laptop. I have to change my laptop to something that can have a battery that long more that the two hours max that I get with my actual, and the new muck switch seem very usefull for that.

My 2060 is different of these 4060 and 3060 because it's not a modifed version for laptops, but yes, with the dlss 2.0 in quality in 1080p I'm around 60 to 70 fps in high-ultra in cyberpunk 2077

@@wintlink Its not a 1:1 equal to a desktop GPU tho, the rtx 2060 laptop chip has lower TDP (110 vs 160) means less performance than the desktop chip, meanwhile the 4060 desktop and laptop chips have the same TDP 115

How do you keep you CPU temps that low? I have I5 12500H in my Gigabyte laptop and it goes iver 95° all the time when playing on max settings in any game, even in war thunder it goes over 90°. I have read that everyone with that CPU in laptops have that problem for tempsnto go high, especially with Gigabyte laptops.
Should i change my termal paste with liquid metal to keep those temps lower?
Ofc i keep my laptop on laptop stand, fans clean, changed thermal paste, heat sink oppening clear of anything that could prevent airflow etc. It is not my first laptop, but it is first gaming laptop with this specs.
This laptop is amazing about that bro.. i have same specs but g18 version and i get most of time avarage 60-65 degrees in most of games.

@@SamPostenyou can play on an ultra setting with ray tracing but turn off the path when you use overdrive bc it takes a lot of fps
You get 70 to 90+ fps with FG and dlss on auto
but if you wanna play on everything then turn on FG and dlss auto the fps self goes 40 to 60fps (I have same laptop)
How do you keep the cpu that cold? I had to undervolt and underclock to 3600 Mhz and disable all E-cores so it doesn't reach 75 c in Horizon Zero Dawn locked at 100 fps and not everything at ultra, I don't have problems with the GPU but the CPU in my laptop (with exactly the same specs) is getting too hot if i dont underclock it idk why
he probably has a cooling pad. Also anything under 90 celsius is acceptable, 75 is nothing. Only above 95 is harmful

@@paradoxine6287 sorry for the late reply, intel 12, 13 and 14 gen cpus are not well optimized and many ppl faced problem and had to modify the bios and reduce around 10% of its performance to ensure a smooth experience although it doesn’t make much difference but and cpu are much more well optimized

@@alexortiz7425I got the hp omen, same specs as him and let me say that it is amazing, hasn't crashed once and I've played almost every aaa game at ultra, it gave me 65+fps performance, it's really good (mind you I haven't overclocked it yet)

It's only can do 1080p and 1200p also on auto with FG is almost 60fps (depends on where you're in the game)

When we’re talking about undervolt isn’t about the laptop itself, its about each individual processor, so you’ll have to figure out yourself which voltage is the right one for you
Can u make comparison with rtx 3060? Or atleast give whether 3060 and 4060 performance diff?
There's a massive difference, on these setting on a 3060 you'd be looking at 20 to 30 frames at best, but med n High mix graphics are plenty
@@Apollo-th2xb yh compared my legion 3060 with asus 4060 f15. Its around 15 to 20%. In 1440p diff is much lower.

Playing in a cool environment and/or having a laptop stand will improve temps greatly. If this doesn’t work either then maybe you should reapply thermal paste.

Dude for my budget, the last thing i have to decide is a 3080ti or 4060 for the same price.
3080ti 16gig is nice, but the 4060 runs cooler and has those frsme gen options you showcased.
Ill mainly game with it if that helps, but yeah, any opinions would be appreciated!

It can never be too bright as people here have to feel that they didn't waste money
I think that if Nvidia unlocks the 140w capability of the card, we could see a different story for the better... I mean performing like that with such little wattage is incredible I guess, but Nvidia should really unlock what we paid for... Don't care if fans get louder or whatever...

performance doesn't change past 100w as tested. It has a low core count. It's really a 50 class gpu. Throwing more power at it won't do anything.

The preformance locks out at around 90-100 watts for the 4050, 4060 and 4070
