You have to have lived in cold war era in the 80's to appreciate this. We were all in constant fear of nuclear war and this song showed it to the max what we were all feeling.
Quite simply, one of the best 12inches of all time. Way ahead of its time. "If your grandmother or any other member of the family..........'! Classic! Remember dancing around the front room non-stop every night for months. Probably the fittest I've ever been!!!
100% (apart from the vocals) Synclavier, not an instrument played by anyone. So talk to Trevor Horn not FGTH regarding who made this track. I remember playing this at full tilt on the digital mixing systems at SSL in Begbroke Oxfordshire. Pure Bliss!
Sadly true! WTTPD was such an important album in The 80's and of my youth but it leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth now with knowing that it was largely nothing to do with FGTH aside from them being the shop window. They have more than just a sentence or two in the history of music in The 80's but at the price of being royally screwed, a two pronged dilemma of a trade off.Pleased that they got to make "Liverpool" before it ended, it's a strong album, if woefully unheard of by many.
