I remember going to see Tina Turner at a small venue in London where she opened with this song... it was just before private dancer was released , the next time I saw her was at Wembley arena getting the acclaim she so Richly deserves, only thing is that I recall the song sounding so much better live...
I’m crying right now. The Park West was 4 blocks from my house, growing up in the 1980s/early 1990s. Chicago. To have been able to see Tina there, would have been an absolute honor. It was probably all Industry people. She was at the height of her career, here. Stadiums. The Park West is small. I can’t get over this.
WoW‼This is astounding‼Had no idea the great Tina Turner covered David Bowie's🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 "Puting out the Fire"🦁🦁🦁from "Cat People"‼🎵🎵🐅🐅🐅🐅🔥🔥🔥🔥🎵Long Live Rock‼🎵
Also love Bowie's version & Bowie ( share a birthday with him... day, not year, I'm way younger lol ). But Bowie was a fan of Tina's since at least his early teens ( she's several years older than he, almost by a decade, and her career got going close to a decade earlier than his did ), so he was surely thrilled by this, and it's a great cover.
She doesn't know the lyrics lol. Bowie was her buddy. He helped her make her come back. Tina recorded Bowie's "1984" on her Private Dancer album and she recorded Bowie's songs "Girls" and "Let's Dance" and "Tonight" were duets with Bowie
I think Tina does this song a lot better than Bowie did! As she did with John Fogerty's "Proud Mary," Tina just puts so much more drama, power and soul into this song than its original composer did.
You say “full respect” and then proceed to be totally disrespectful to a woman who has paid all the dues and is widely respect by many of the biggest talents in the music industry, if you want to be rude just be rude don’t try and dress it up.
you must have your taste for this song in your foot if you think this is terrible. she performed it in her style not David's. His rendition is great for his style and I love that as well.
I never knew Tina covered this! Utterly fantastic!

Tina's version is much more better than original
Now I see the inspiration for Bowie’s look in Labyrinth. That. Hair.

I could sing this song ...
And it would still be AWSOME
I doubt it
Love this song but always felt it had a rather weak ending; I prefer Bowie's version, but Tina's style goes better with the last part.
It's not the ending to the song, she ran it straight into another one so it gets mashed up.
weak ending? ahahahhahaaha stupid idiot

joe cocker was a better dancer
Nice try but with full respect to granny Tina but only Bowie can do it
Tina can better dickhead

A really nasty comment Simeon. You must be so proud of yourself. Bowie adored Tina, wonder what he would of made of your sad little comment.
oh my god it's terrible ; poor David !

Poor you.
