I actually quit my last play through of Fallout 1 because at Mariposa the super mutants kept critting me for over 100 damage bypassing my power armour and killing me instantly. So innovative of Iron Tower to build a whole game around that one aspect of classic Fallout, truly a worthy successor.
I remember I got the Red Ryder BB gun. I was pretty much one-shoting supermutants with eye shot crits with every shot (and 100 shot magazine). I'm not sure if that was a secret (the description warns not to shoot your eye out), but it was broken powerful.
@@JackPhoenixCz The gun doesn't have any eye-related properties. In Fallout 1/2 crits have different effects depending on the roll (check Fallout crit table) and in case of head, eyes and torso one of the possible effects is instant death which is triggered regardless of damage. Aimed shots increase crit chance depending on the limb's chance-to-hit penalty, so eye-shots have the highest crit chance. Apart from that, you probably had Better Criticals perk which increases the value of critical hit rolls
@@greyish7212 Very possible. It's been well over 20 years since I've played it. I've checked the description on wiki, and the "don't shoot your eye out" was apparently added in the localization I had to use at the time, it's not in the original english.

Watching all your videos made me understand why I enjoy Iron Tower games so much, they’re about climbing out of the dirt and into a castle. Forging your own path to the top whether it be through blood or making powerful allies. Becoming more than a footnote in history. Many games make you a power house within the first Act, but Iron Tower games makes the climb to power, a slow and difficult experience. Whether it be ascending to godhood, escaping a prison colony or dooming an entire colony ship, the path to relevance in these games never come easy. And I love them for that.
Colony Ship has an _absurdly_ long demo, if anyone is curious about it. At first it seems like it’ll be just the first “town”, which is a decent amount of content, But then it just keeps going. There’s like a half dozen significant zones. I think it might be the entire third act. It’s pretty goddamn good, too.
Oh yeah, I finished a couple different playthroughs of Colony Ship and I highly recommend it. There are a couple bullshit encounters and creepers can eat my ass but, if you learn the system it is a great experience.
Thanks for another video, you got me through university graduation with countless repeats of Deus Ex, Masquerade, and Fallout Senora to name a few. Have a good year!

Yeah I love Warlockracy! I have watched so many gaming channels since the start of RUclips, when everyone was just being the AVGN most of the time and this guy is one of the most unique things on this platform. He makes these strange RPGs I grew up playing, would you agree it feels almost like an older brother/friends older brother taking you through the game making up a story? I also feel like he speaks in such a way that is very friendly and approachable but with a wicked sense of humor at times, plus he doesn't just dunk on other youtubers scandals like a lot of other creators do nowadays! Anyway sorry for the long comment I just absolutely buzz off these videos! hahaha
@zakbrown9256 I feel that. It's so unique getting to see someone play the game. But it's like a story is being told along with it not just someone chatting about whatever. It's become my favorite story telling ever.
I like how, after all this time, I'm still unsure whether you appreciate Avellone's thoughts or wished he would stub his toe every day for the rest of his life.
Love Iron Tower. I wish more people bought their games, like you said they are one of a kind. I am really hoping they make a sequel to Colony Ship, but I hear, like the other games it hasn't sold so well. Hope videos like these convince more players to give their games a try. It's well worth it.

For whatever reason, I haven't been able to fall in love with this setting as much as you have. I'm not sure exactly why, I think part of it might simply be the color palette (it is VERY beige and brown constantly) and lack of "weirdness" for a postapoc/fantasy setting. It feels a bit... undercooked to me. I dunno, maybe it's just that I feel like the Roman angle is overdone, or maybe it's more that once you cover the famous things like colosseums and aqueducts, a lot of Roman buildings are actually mostly just beige brick cubes (at least in this game), or once you cover things like legionaries and gladiators, most roman clothing is basically just a tunic with sandals, etc. It just doesn't have the "eye-candy" I'm generally looking for.
