so now I am a bit confused. I thought I comented on Jills video before. Maybe it was my alterego that Comented on Carolines video. Maybe we are all a work of fiction that someone is writing.
Hey Jill. Just finished it. It was fantastic. I love how to built the “real world” story into this as well. It added a lot to why Caroline is as a person, and I found myself cheering her on just as much as Rosy. Might have to get the hard cover version when it becomes available. I need this one in my bookshelf.
I do think that "Grand Theft Equine' might be one of my favorite lines in this series - it may add only a little to the story, but the delivery.... beautiful

This series is a wonderful. My husband bought the book and has been reading the book to me. It is a nice romantic time for us. I shared the videos with a friend. She watched a few minutes of it and stopped. Bought the book and is loving it. So I bought a second copy to give to our local library. Oh please do a sequel. Just very wonderful
By the way, the princess bride is our favorite book and movie. The movie came out the year we got married. So it is basically kind of our movie. Your book has that sort of feel to it as well.
I want to see more of Robin! It might be me just aroace and hopeful but it really does feel like he grew away from being the second love interest into just a good friend and i love how he's friends with Leo too, sweet guy! I mean he might still be attracted to Rosamund which can also be an interesting story but i like how he's established as a good friend first before he's established as a good love interest.
That was the only wee disappointment I had with the book!Robin did feel extremely rainbow-vibes to me, whether gay or aroace or what, and so the reveal of his marriage with Elinor felt just a wee bit off-kilter, even though they are very sweet together? Holding out fading hope for a twist reveal of some sort in the hopeful sequel, though their strong physical on-the-page attraction probably would limit it to his being bi or poly, I guess...? 😔
We've basically become a giant book club. I love it. I will purchase a copy to read, and join the reading portion or maybe wait for the audio book.....
Paperback arrived yesterday, Kindle edition dropped right on midnight and re-watched the series while sipping from my "Just stab me now" mug of tea. Happy times.
I thoroughly enjoyed all of this as it was coming out originally (and the book since I've read it now). The cover reveal, when Caroline finally meets Jill, and Rosamund responds with "Oh, this is going to be good." had me rolling on the floor laughing.
I just finished reading the book and, honestly, even though I'd watched the individual videos *and* the compilation, I still couldn't stop reading. I enjoyed not only the fantasy part of the story, but the 'real life' aspect about Caroline and her struggles with her job. I think my favorite part of that was Caroline going "What would Rosamund do?" That was a wonderful reversal of reality inspiring fiction. Though it's all fiction anyway. Excellent novel and I'm a little sorry there isn't going to be more, but that's what fanfiction is for. As you know. Well done!
I want you to know that I bought the book immediately, started reading it within the same minute, and am now sitting here with tears on my face after Rosamund's nightmare. This is so good I don't get how it's not illegal or at least fattening. I'm in love with you and everything you write.
gawd I LOLed so hard when The Writer complaint about the book-cover and who the EFF Jill Bearup is. Great work my lady. Sadly I only could afford the e-book I'm reading it right now
This is so delightfully entertaining to watch. So excited for my copy to arrive on Thursday. It's pretty cool to have the shorts video compilation as a companion piece to the book. Kind of reminds me of how Douglas Adams did hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy in various media forum, taking advantage of each media strengths to focus on different aspects of the story or his brand of humor that he was attempting to spotlight. I love how you openly embrace tropes. I particularly like how you made a point to say this is not based on any historical reality therefore you can do what you want. Love it. I've always thought that about fictitious movies when people get all caught up on well it wasn't really like that 100 years ago, my reply was always it's a fictitious story so it doesn't have to be 100% accurate. Having a background knowledge of your stuff you like videos and how you analyze things and the various things you like and don't like in literature and movies adds to the enjoyment. It's meta on top of meta... And of course you're acting is fantastic. The subtle facial expressions, the body language. Very well done!

I went to badger my local library into buying the ebook, & found to my surprise that it was already in their collection - looks like Jill must have some sneaky fans amongst the Christchurch Libraries staff!! 😆 Was able to bottow & read right away SQUEE... 😁
this has been one of the most entertaining videos I've ever seen. I have not seen any of the previous material, didn't know anything about you or your content, stumbled into you when your fencing-in-the-movies were recommended. Thank you, bravo!
I just finished your novel last night - well done, Jill! You killed it with your original series and absolutely added to your wonderful story with the novel. Thanks for everything you've given to your audience over the years. 😊
just to let you know how well you've done Jill, very few books sell more than 10,000 copies. To sell more than 17,000 BEFORE its been released in superb. Now before i've read it your adoring fans are wanting to know WHEN can expect a sequel ? I understand you're moving and have a child / children and Church stuff (big plus) and generally a life, and that's BEFORE you start the audiobook. But your audience will naturally want to know what happens. We don't mind if you outline your plot through skits (the same way as the first one) but like Caroline I'm sure you know what the public wants 🧀
Can I just second the request for a sequel. Even though the Kindle ebook has only been here since midnight and I've barely been able to make a start, I'm already wanting more! :D

Then, today, it's put this one in front of me and, thinking it might be a series of pieces of advice for would be writers in order to help them write more believable fighting heroines, I started watching it - yes, I'm using a lot of entertainment these days. Five minutes into it I was absolutely confused, no less when I saw the actual duration of the video. Still, I could not stop watching in delight and, one minute after finishing watching it, I had already ordered a copy of the book. Congratulations on your work, it's a joy to watch, a really refreshing novelty and a very serious endeavour, I thank you for the entertainment and education you've already provided us with and for the enjoyment I am surely going to take from the book. All the best, Jesús
I'm very excited for tomorrow's release! Ok someone didn't look at the calendar before agreeing to help out a friend!!! Who know Monday and the 5th were the same?!?!
Prospect for a second book: Eleanor isn’t Robin’s wife. Eleanor is someone Robin is madly in love with that Rosamund knows also has feelings for him. When he isn’t being a sassy tactless bestie, he is denying pining for her, who was similarly roped into a political marriage like Rosamund but disappeared before her marriage. It isn’t widely known, but her sister stepped up in her place and on the day she was supposed to walk down the aisle, Robin burst into her dressing room with plans to sweep her away (knowing the potential fallout of that decision) only to discover that she’s MIA and no clue where she went
To quote Caroline: OH IM SO EXCITED🎉🎉🎉🎉 I cannot wait for my book to get here on Wed AND I’m begging you to please work out the sequel using YT/Tiktok because it’s so much fun watching the characters develop in real time (sort of lol)❤❤❤
I want the sequel too!!! And I say it's totally fine for Jill to do the sequel in the form of shorts and refuse to do another book - she tried it once and powered through, and now she knows it's not for her. And that's TOTALLY FINE!!! I want to learn more about that religion-based magic system! What happens with Baron Mabry? Who killed Hugo (unless that's addressed in the book)? What about the second bandit? I WANT MORE!!! I'm also hoping to read the first (and I assume only) book sometime in the next couple months 😂
This is delightful! How did I miss most of it as it happened? The vagaries of The Algorithm, I suppose. But now I've seen it, and will run to get the book. P.S. The whole thing is great, the premise behind the skit, the characters --Author included--, the banter, the plot --that reminded me of the dynastic families of the speculative hard sf that's more in my reading list. I've high expectations of the book, I trust they'll be met .
Back watching this after having read the novel and it is weird how I felt that a lot of the thing wasn't in the shorts but it turns out that it was. Still love this series and the book was very good too! Maybe we can get some kind of sequel as shorts eventhough Jill/Caroline/Rosamund probably won't write another book in quite a while..
I finally got around to watching this properly. I didn't realise the actual real book was a thing now! Very pleased to find it on Kobo so that's me sorted for something new and tasty to settle into :)
Thank You this series has been incredible 46:07 . I have watched it many times and still say that is more enjoyable than anything Hollywood has released in years.
Just purchased the book on Amazon. It arrives the 9th and I'm so excited!!! I got the book originally as an ebook from my local library but I decided, not even 1/4 of the way through, that this was a book I HAD to have a physical copy of. I look forward to an audiobook version, if you fancy making one.
Had to come here after finishing the book and say 10/10. I enjoyed every second of reading it even though I already knew what was going to happen (I am usually a HUGE stickler for spoilers). You have a lovely voice as a writer and I would love to read more from you!
Good morning! I just finished your book!! I have to say, for me personally, the mark of a good book and how much I enjoyed it is evident by what time I finished reading it. All my most loved books I have finished in the early hours, usually around 2:00 AM because I couldn't put it down and the ending was SO CLOSE! I finished "Just Stab Me Now" at 4:30 AM!! Truly enjoyable, loved the characters and the story, and even read the Acknowledgments! Thank you so much for writing this. Ot had a great ending. If ever you do choose to write another book, consider me a customer. If not, then I'll have to be content with this wonderful gem. Have a great day!
I thought books is what I loved, but now I think I need every author to do this format of writing. 1. Write the book 2. Create skits on how they made the book and the logical/illogical thinking they had with every character and setting
Congratulations on making it to release day. This was great timing to make sure I've caught everything from TikTok and to whet my appetite for the book arriving (hopefully) tomorrow (technically today but it's 3:05 am).
I just finished reading the book and HAD to come back to the series for comparison 😊. Love it. And I'm impressed how close you stuck to the original story.
My ordered-early $2.99 Kindle edition was delivered around midnight EST (local time here in Florida). Not perfect, lacking some of the humor unique to the videos… but I’m reading and enjoying it. The meeting of young Rosamund and Hugo is especially charming but there are various felicities. I keep thinking of Inspector Lynley from the detective novels by Elizabeth George when I see Caroline’s name, but that’s just my brain playing tricks.
The book is now officially published, yay! books2read.com/juststabmenow if you fancy buying it, and thank you for coming on this journey with me :D

There’s nothing wrong with talking to yourself.
It’s not so good when you argue with yourself.
It’s all over when you lose the argument.
😉
This leads me to imagine Conan of Cimmeria having conversations like this with Robert E. Howard during the process of writing his stories.
can't wait to see all the parts not covered by series
IT CAME IT CAME... now if you will excuse me I have to ignore my family for a few hours.
I got my book today!!! I'm so excited to get to read it.
Those little shorts are awesome and I want to buy the book now
Just got my Paperback Jill!!! Thank you for writing it.
I was just introduced to this by my sister and have to say I’m already hoping for a second book.
I just finished reading my copy and to.Celebrate I allowed myself to finish watching this video. Squeal.
This compilation only gets better every single time I watch it!
“Chapter 1
'I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!'
Lady Rosamund Hawkhurst had lived through worse days than this”
Finally in my grubby paws.
I had just finished watching these shorts. I guess I could watch the compilation video, *check notes* a few more times.
Had to come here after finishing the book and say 10/10. I enjoyed every second of reading it even though I already knew what was going to happen (I am usually a HUGE stickler for spoilers). You have a lovely voice as a writer and I would love to read more from you!
I swear I can not fall in love more with this concept of a story :)
I am LOVING the book so far! Finished work and sat down to read before dinner!
Yay! The live stream was great!
Even though I've seen this before, this series is making my Monday much better.
Got my copy today and already a third though it. Love it!!!😊
I just finished the book!!!!! I had to come immediately back and relive the series. ❤ the drama! The horse theft! The romance! The cybersecurity!!
I thought books is what I loved, but now I think I need every author to do this format of writing. 1. Write the book 2. Create skits on how they made the book and the logical/illogical thinking they had with every character and setting
Love this! So great to see it start to finish. Congratulations on the publication,
i am really looking forward to reading this and when the audible comes out, listening to it.
At the “Now shoo!” I couldn’t help an “d’aaaww” 😊
Fanfic shaming the writer is such a power move 😂😂😂
Congratulations on making it to release day. This was great timing to make sure I've caught everything from TikTok and to whet my appetite for the book arriving (hopefully) tomorrow (technically today but it's 3:05 am).
Happy launch day! 🎉 Reading the ebook now, will be ordering the paperback later. Need something to grab off the shelf and read bits out to friends 😊
Waited till the whole thing was put together. Enjoyed it and excited for the ebook to download tomorrow!
I was going to bed and thought this was a short. Just so good
So much love and so many congratulations to you Jill! You did it! And did it well!!
Been dealing with a raging fever for two days and I am living for this right now. Can’t wait for the ebook drop in the US!
I hope you're feeling better :)
Finished reading the book this afternoon. Officially one of my favorite books, now! :D
This is your best video yet. You have a wonderful imagination and sense of humor! You didn't need "stab me now" to make this video fun.
I actually like this fourth-wall-breaking style of storytelling. More please.
These shorts are amazing, and I really want to watch, but now I'm afraid of spoilers!
I wait (pray?)for the audiobook, and happily watch this in the interim❤
I have book in hand and will begin reading this evening. Thank you for writing it.
Sorry, I was late joining the Live and fell asleep! So looking forward to getting my hands on your book this evening
Can't wait to read the book! 🥰 Congratulations on official release day!
Two hours until the book drops on my Kindle. I enjoyed your live stream.
I have watched these at least ten times I am so hyped for the book
I just finished reading the book and HAD to come back to the series for comparison 😊. Love it. And I'm impressed how close you stuck to the original story.
Starting in on the book now, so excited to have a copy
Got my book in the mail today!!! About to start reading it now!!! I’m so excited!!!! 😄😄😄
It was so cool to just watch this happen organically right in front of my eyes. Congrats Jill!
I keep coming back to this series, it is a comfort series rn
I literally just finished the book and i bloody loved it thank u for gifting us this Jill
Genuinely loved it... started it with nothing and then got further and further in. I hope you feel genuinely satisfied with it.
The epilogue was a delightful surprise. Thank U.
