Todd, you are the very best that RUclips has to offer 💙. Your respect, content and integrity for Laos is always unparalleled, without judgement of the people who really matter. Respect to you and your family. Your channel reminds me of Laos when I lived there over 20 years ago. 🤝👍👌🫡
I left Laos when I was a baby and I still have family there from both sides. It's been too long and seeing Laos in your videos makes me a bit happy and sad because I will never be able to visit there.
The video was so engaging . Understand. Sometimes there are people that don't want to bring attention to the past. Your respect for the Hmong people is unwavering. This series has been epic and so engaging. Love it. Sending you all the best 👍 Jim and Harriet P.S. And the Oscar goes to ..........Todd !
And a BIG "E" for effort in climbing those stairs. I'd have been more than out of breath Todd. Much respect for what you do and how you go about it. Bushyboy Oz
Thanks again Todd, Neenee & Mina for a lovely Sunday video.........really enjoy watching after been out shopping..........what a wonderful view from the drone & the lookout ❤
As always Todd, another top notch vlog visiting another Hmong village and showing us there simple way of life. I think that the dogs take after their owners with a very laid back approach to life. Why should they get stressed when there is nothing to stress about. Very interesting coming across that Library, which just goes to show how much the village chief cares about the people who live there. I fully understand why he decided that it was not a good idea to film the General's house as he was an enemy of the current State and the party line must now be toed. Excellent photography as always, keep 'em coming! Love to NeeNee and Mina, God Bless 🙏😊❤️
Hi Todd,,a very cool village, like no other! Nice construction style on the houses and other buildings. Never ceases to amaze me,,what an excellent, well developed sense of humor my niece has. A chika after my own heart❤ loved the historical aspect of the village too. Thanks bro. Ttyl,,,Marlon
Awesome as always brother :) the semi at the end reminds me of the cowboys around Loei, there is a mine site not far from my fans village and you are always negotiating these buggers !!! 55555
There's actually a Vang Pao primary school in Fresno, California. Music was fitting for the episode, as was the awesome drone footage, black and white pictures and view atop the hill you were looking over. E 13 gone and looking forward to E 14. Take care, Todd, Nene and Mina.
Thanks for the video, we always enjoy them. Question, why is Japan so interested in helping Lao? I get China given the strategic location etc but Japan?
Japan aides many developing countries. There's no ulterior motive. The main investors are China, Vietnam and Thailand. The major donors include Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, Germany, France, Sweden and the UN organisations.
As a general rule, Japan charitable organisations help some developing countries, so if that is the case no ulterior motive. Rarely does the Japanese government help countries unless there is something in it. Not a lot of real charity around from any government unfortunately.
I would be interested in knowing more about the economy of villages like this one. I don't think that it could be just from agriculture. The better houses may be from migrant labor. The government has done a good job extending electricity to places like this. The people are not paying enough to pay for the power lines.
Thanks soooo much Todd - I’m a VV and had never heard it before - love it! Keep up the fantastic videos and love to Nene and that little angel, Mina. Cheers dude!
Are the Japanese Ambulances right hand drive? I know Japan has a brutal MOT test which makes it easier to buy a new car. They send the 3 year old ones to the UK and Ireland.
Apart from the great video footage, the drone looks really useful for telling where you're going. I'd rather navigate by drone than by asking locals, given their idea of what a "good" road is.
it's like pol pots house in Cambodia, if any foreigners try to take photos they would find themselves in a whole lot of trouble and be escorted out of the area by the military at gun point.
The Lao Hmong in Nong het absolutely do not want to remember about Vang Pao because they are in alliance with the pathet Lao. They probably dont want to draw in politics and attention. Thanks for trying and your coverage of the village was outstanding. Once again another great episode by you.
When visiting Laos, always keep in mind that it's a Communist country. I was in Laos 2 years ago and majority of tourists stay within Vientiane, Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang. It takes a lot of nerves to visit Phonsavan and Nong Het.
I think those funeral home for the dead are just showing off!!! Why are the poor not doing the same thing? I asked the same question in the U.S and them couldn't answer me.
There's bigger things in this world worry about rather than getting upset with how much money some spend on monuments/memorials to show their respects to passed family members. We all do what we can 🙏
No where in the video do I say he denied us entry to the village. We were denied access to Vang Pao's family home which is quite understandable (I explain this in the video), and why I didn't mark this village on a map. The village chief was happy with us to be there and wander the village and get the drone up.

Hey Todd , Great to see these more remote villages.happy people living off the land. Take care .Nev
Many of those villages still look like it would in 1970’s. Seeing the library was a big surprise
A very bid surprise. I can't recall seeing a library away from any of the major cities here.
It was finance by foriners, as usual...same with running water in this village...
Thov kom txhob muaj dabtsi dawm koj tes koj taw
Thank you Todd for making a great go of it, still, mission accomplished. General Vang Pao, memory eternal. 🫡
Can't blame the village for not wanting to be a 'destination'. The village looks healthy enough that they don't need tourism.
Great views. well done to the village ,not allowing tourism spoil the pristine place.
The kids getting candy bars ..priceless ❤
Another amazing vlog Todd, so enjoyable and thanks for sharing. Stay well and safe!
Thank you April. Always nice to hear from you. Take care 💚

No she wasn't.. They never made it to the top 😆
Great vlog mate .
The Japanese vehicles are right hand drive?
I think your girl actually saw the parent and baby.
As mentioned by a subscriber previously , buy some rubber wheel arches for the troops ,
What kind of tires are you using
i LOVE THIS SONG man YOU GOT ME IN TEARS HOW TO GET A RECORDING OF THIS SONG MAN OH MAN
Is weather that cold up in that village by the mountain?
In winter it is, yes. This was captured early January

Hi Todd, what is the name of the song about Vietnam?
Sounded like Charlie fired? Cheers from Yeppoon CQueensland.
Same kind of blue - Sam Baker

Over 1200 meters

The dogs in the village look Little bit like the native Japanese dogs

Yes

Todd, you are laos citizen right ? I can't believe you got deny. Is hmong running laos now or laos still in control ?
No, I'm Australian. We were only denied to video Vang Pao's house. We weren't denied entry to the village.
When is your cousin James coming back to visit Laos or you see him in the Philippines?
When visiting Laos, always keep in mind that it's a Communist country. I was in Laos 2 years ago and majority of tourists stay within Vientiane, Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang. It takes a lot of nerves to visit Phonsavan and Nong Het.
I think you'll find that the majority of tourists stick to those destinations because of the availability of public transport.

Don't like classic rock and roll done to the tune of EDM.
That's a shame. Unfortunately there's not too many classic rock tracks without copyright
That is one of the reason I hate about laos. Each city they have their own laws.
Why Hmong village chief denied you to access to his village? Usually Hmong don’t do that, right. It got to be language barrier there.
Yes, that seems so odd. First time I heard of that happening.
No where in the video do I say he denied us entry to the village. Todd can you inform about Laos laws sharing a ròom with a lady whilst being married. I hear it's a serious offence, is that true.
It's not an offense if you are married to her
If you aren't married you can get fined, cops would be rubbing their hands at the prospect. She has to be out by 19.00
