    Hey everyone thanks for watching!
Just wanna clarify a couple things:
    - The intro isn't Swedish, it's an attempt at Norwegian haha. I know Opeth is Swedish but I only know *some* Norwegian 😅
    - I'm not calling Opeth "dad rock," I only meant that they sometimes have "rockin" riffs, so I think Dean secretly likes actual dad rock and he's just not telling us 😏
    Ok, thanks for listening 🖤

dream theater came out in the 80s, opeth came out in like 2005. what in the flying fu** are you talking about? dream theater has been classic rock, for awhile. rush and dream theater, were basically the first major progressive groups. the guy from opeth probably listened to dream theater, when he was a literal child.

I remember when i was around 17 or 18 and discovered Opeth. The amount of hours spent glued to UltimateTabs just to learn Opeth songs was pretty insane. I still dont think there is a band in existence who ever came close to being what Opeth in terms of the way riffs and songs were written. Everything was so well written and orchestrated for maximum dynamics and affect and it didnt matter if it was that one sustained single note that rang out that would make people lose their minds or putting two chords or notes that dont work well with each other *TOGETHER*
Opeth songs are extremely fun to learn how to play.

She reminds me of a mate of mine that came to Opeth and said “they don’t play fast enough “
Fkn some death metal fans aren’t into it unless it’s super fast .
I actually think they don’t like the difficulty of it to play .
Deicide is ten times easier to play than Opeth .
I’ve seen her play deicide easy , she doesn’t have the chops to play an Opeth album

Love these videos Dean! Opeth is my favorite so this is an extra special installment. It must have been difficult to choose only 4 riffs for this. Have a good trip in Europe.

Well, I am a massive Opeth fan, have been for years (Blackwater Park was my first album, was still new at the time) and I gotta say I loved watching this. At some point you should show her some of their newer stuff, I'm sure she'd absolutely HATE it compared to the old-school stuff xD Mikael has always said he was big into the prog style of things, so it's not too surprising that in their later years that's the direction they headed, it's still nice to see him pull out the guttural vocals at shows though. Keep makin these videos, love watching you two enjoy the music together.

Claine I 100% feel you on Opeth. Mucho respect to them, huge influence on my songwriting, dope riffs... can't be fucked listening to more than a song at a time, idk why. Cheers to both of you!

I’m honestly surprised she’s not more into these riffs. The Demon of the Fall riff is legitimately one of the coolest metal riffs of all time and she was just like “meh” haha

You should have picked some of their darker riffs like the intro to "The Lepper Affinity", maybe she would have digged those more since shes a death metal fan.
