      Avoid the center of the market - which tends to be all processed foods. The perimeter has fresh produce and meats where you'll get the most nutritious foods. The fewer ingredients on the list or more whole your foods are in their original form, the better for your body in general. I know we can't avoid processed foods 100% but knowing this is half the battle.

    As much as I love these videos, I literally feel like it’s impossible to be healthy in America. Even our water has dangerous plastics and chemicals in it. As a working mama, I don’t have the energy or time to cross examine every label and research every ingredient. Our laws should be stricter on companies using quality, natural and ideally healthy ingredients but instead they just focus on the profits.

    • @sounghungi
      @sounghungi 4 месяца назад

      It was the federal government that shift public perception to putting these oils into the food supply. I don't think it would be wise to give them more power to force companies to reverse it. Just spread the knowledge around. Also I wouldn't really worry about plastics and chemicals for now. The problem is that seed oils affect our mitochondria which is why we breathe and live in the first place. 90% of modern problems can be traced back to rampant seed oil in the diet.

  • @Golds-worthy

    Could you please do an episode about grape seed oil? I’ve read very contradictory information about it. For example that the wine makers didn’t know what to do with so much grape seed that someone came up with the idea of “making oil” (and to say that it was healthy) to have profits instead of paying yo get rid of all those seeds. And that in the process of making the grape seed oil, they use poisonous chemicals and those chemicals remain in the final product as they don’t complete “wash out”. And on top of that, these process is very expensive so we end up paying an expensive price for something that is not only not natural but harmful with all those chemicals. What do you think? 🤔

    They're not just inflammatory, they're also the main reason for heart attacks/cardiac arrest. Clarified butter/ghee is also another one which explains why heart attacks are the biggest killer in India even though a majority of their diet is vegetarian. I can't remember everything as I looked into years ago but it's called oxodized cholesterol and this is what is clogging up/causing build up in your arteries which causes many things, not just heart attacks. This is why doctors and guys like this tell you to reduce the amount of fried/processed food you eat. That being said I still occasionally eat something deep fried and still use vegetable oils because the majority of us cannot afford to be using olive,coconut and avocado oils on the daily. All you need to be doing is making sure you eat your veggies/fruits and having home cooked meals. Find simple/easy meals to make that you like ie. Cottage pie, chilli con carne, omelettes, wraps. For desserts my go to is a homemade crumble with almost any fruit I have at home.

    Seed oils do not have to be highly processed and inflammatory. For instance, I have a bottle of virgin, cold-pressed (i.e., extracted without heat or chemicals) sunflower oil at home.
    Furthermore, the balance of research suggests that seed oils are not bad for you if you are not reusing them for frying. Otherwise, their only problem is that they keep bad company, often appearing in unhealthy processed foods like potato chips.

    This guy has no idea what he's talking about. Canola (rapeseed) oil is not an "emulsifier"... it's an oil. Emulsifiers are ingredients that allow oils to be blended uniformly into an aqueous solution, such as lecithin, xanthan gum, guar gum, locust bean gum, carrageenan, etc... the things usually at the very bottom of the ingredients list.
    His videos keep popping up in my feed for the past 6+ months and I've caught countless examples like this of how he doesn't remotely understand the 101-level basics of what he's presenting himself as an expert on in order to proffer advice to others. His advice generally isn't all that bad, but he's miles away from a level of knowledge where he should be venturing to offer advice to others in the first place.
    Going to go ahead and block recommendations from his channel now.

      Yes, I think he ought to, especially since this is the kind of content his channel provides. When you tell others that something as ubiquitous as seed oils is bad for you (after they already heard that so many other things are bad) then they get understandably upset and want to know then what the hell is it that they can eat? If people feel like they're getting cornered they can reach a point where they just throw their hands up in the air and altogether stop caring, viewing the situation with eating right as being hopeless. So yeah, there ought to be balance and it would be nice to hear about what we can eat vs. only being told one thing right after another about what we can't eat or should not eat. Bottomline, I think you're totally right! Good point!👍
