Hi Justin, The antennas you are confused about are for the high power installations that require the Baicells 436h radio. These radios have 4 antenna ports and can have omni antennas for 360 degree or directional antennas configured in sectors. I run a bobber 500 with 1 Mosolabs radio in Los Angeles. I welded up a 25 foot pole to my home.
But those are not for 5G, right? It's an extension for LoRa. So why does the system act like it's not? Or does it assume you also have the Baicells 436H attached?
No, these are not for lora these antennas are usually 3500mhz - 3800mhz for LTE CBRS. These higher power radios earn more mobile but are $5K for 1 unit without antennas or mounting. You end up spending $7K if you need the Gateway as well. @@DoItJustinKace
Good content! This Helium Mobile thing feels a lot like the old adage "fool me once....". Cautiously getting back into this with an outdoor hotspot from helium that I'll set online today. I hope for quick ROI this time. It appears that size of covered area is more important for earnings than the actual houses you can hit, even if it's just empty cornfield.
it's a bummer that the outdoor hotspot works only with 30W, 54V, POE+ injector that is not included. Been waiting for that injector to arrive for almost two weeks.
honestly looking at most miners returns have been going steady down last 2 months. same bullshit with HNT hard pass on this. if u got a miner back in april it was a nice return selling the top. I need to know whats gonna push price higher not lower
will you make a vid setting up your indoor mobile hotspot when you get it? Also are you planning to get the phone plan? That guy with a lot of mobile rewards could likely be using the phone plan to help boost his hotspot
This is possible but I feel it is only worth upgrading the antennas on outdoor radios that have internal antennas like the Baicells 430h and the mosolabs outdoor unit.
Hey JK! I remember reading about a "conversion kit" some manufacturers were going to make available to convert miners to 5G. Have you seen any new news on this subject?
That's why I said a stop sign. Where the car would be in the same same spot for over a minute or so. I think that could be enough time to do some activity.@@DoItJustinKace
All these sites require a set up and a fee - and I have a Nebra I’m a newbie first miner but upon onboarding it has a an error no data - when using Nebra app but when I switched to helium app it brought an error about paying extra on baording fee due to the change in solana -- to who do we pay to what app or what wallet or do I put 40 dollars worth of hnt in my helium wallet can I also sighn up for mobile and build hnt to onboard Nebra helium miner ???
I bought it on eBay :( it wouldn’t onboard - I got a message about paying some 40.00 worth of solana or hnt because of the switch -but I went to a website for Nebra it stated it’s paid but only 10.00 - so know I’m lost in thinking maybe all helium miners require an onboarding fee ??? Or just old outdated ones I been wanting to purchase indoor hotspot for my area I don’t have many close miners within 7 to 10 miles away what about the linxdot hotspot miner in your opinion for me I’m new to this my first onboarding never happen im willing to return it if I’m still able and purchase one through the website 249.00
Is it worth continuing to invest in outdoor placing my syncrobit hnt miner (now Nebra flashed) ? I fell out of the mining scene after ETH pow went extinct, but now with the new rise I want to start getting back into passive mining earning. Any suggestions? Should I mount my antenna for my syncrobit miner (lofi) I think that’s what you called its type
Crazy!! i ordered on a few ago, and it's coming today!! Lets see how this goes.. Def waiting on an outdoor one too.. Might as well, i shoulda pulled the trigger when i first saw it, but now, i'm fomoing lol ugh.. but we already here, this is like hnt all over again.. so ride the wave..
Hi Justin...For the indoor mobile hotspot, I can see how they are viable where there is heavy foot traffic i.e., bars, restaurants, nail salons, etc. However, if you live in a suburb like you and the neighbor you mentioned (and me), how can this indoor hotspot be viable? I don't understand how your neighbor is making the money you mention in a neighborhood with limited foot traffic. As I understand it, these devices have very limited range. Glad to see you back! Bill
Because we're talking about POC rewards for Proof of Coverage in an area. Not data transfer rewards. POC doesn't care where, just the distance of coverage. However high traffic areas will yield more in the long term for data transfer.
I have the freedomfi units with the 430 radios and I also have the bobber 500 with the 430 radios. I actually like the bobber 500 better. Customer service is better
Just buy the indoor miner and retro fit it for outside use with some silicon sealant and 3D printed parts. Throw in a amplifier and for 249 ur making a quick buck
Not going to work. Not designed for that. But if you are able to make it happen, please shoot me a video of the process. I'll also look options when I get mine.
Back in 2022 I converted my indoor Nebra miner to a outdoor miner using 3d printed parts and some platinum silicon. I 3d printed a outdoor encloser shell brushed silicon over the Part (to make a thin silicon membrane). for the bottom of the enclose I designed a double conical shape with some brushes so I could install a fan to keep the miner from overheating. Then for the power source I used a large, insulated battery bank which allowed me to place the miner wherever I wanted to. The battery bank should have a heat controller if it is placed in sunlight. The only limitation was suppling Wi-Fi but that can be done by using range extenders. I know that the Indoor Wi-Fi hotspot is not deigned to be placed outside but if there is a will there is a way. The signal from the hotspot will have low range so the remedy is to add an amp. To add the amp Youd have to identify the signal your hotspot is Brodcasting. I havent gotten my hands one of these hotspots but i intend too. @@DoItJustinKace
@@burnologist229 I hear what you're saying, and thanks for the details, but I don't even think the indoor miners are 5G. That's the bigger issue. Totally different technology and purpose.

Thank god for this video mate. I had no idea where to start with the new changes.
Mapping with your phone is another great way to earn mobile. I paid for my mobile hotspot with mapping rewards.

Is there any Helium hotsopt only using wireless?
Whats the difference between the outdoor mobile hotspot and the baicell outdoor miners?
Mobile is wifi. The other is 5G.
Wondering if we can open up the indoor machines and solder a connection so you can use an external antenna like the KP 8 DBI

I would not do IOT right now. There are plenty of IOT hotspots online.
I have a bobcat 300 can I put the new hotspot in the same house ?
I plan to. May effect your IOT earnings on the other hotspot.
I wonder how the mobile would do with a high traffic intersection of cars that has a stop sign? Do cars count the same a foot traffic?

IOT might be worth repurposing for new network. If you want to stay with Helium you'll have to look at their MOBILE options.
Thanks for the Post! Do you have any videos or resources you could recommend to troubleshoot my bobcat300? hasn't been operational in quite some time.
I’d say the Bobcat discord, but it looks not to be active. Maybe they’ve changed accounts with that Bobber name change. Not sure.
