i'd say Vlad's description of 3rd Bass is pretty accurate. Listenting to Serch is a definite must for those who thought Hip Hop started with Biggie or worse Kanye.

My main beef with this is a personal one: Daddy Rich is not mentioned in more than a passing sentence. On the low he’s one of the greatest un-acknowledged DJs from that era. He was also a good friend of mine from childhood, who I watched work like a slave to become a master. So maybe I’m biased but damn, not a word about an East Flatbush 50’s legend. Why?

As a white kid I was never into 3rd Bass back then. I liked their solo albums way better, especially Here it Comes.
That being said, I'm taking everything Serch said with a grain of salt. He's entertaining, true, but there were too many bridges burnt. Makes you wonder.
No mentioning of Daddy Rich, nothing about the break-up, the planned reunion, his beef with Pete Nice.

Acts like The Beastie Boys, Vanilla Ice & 3rd Bass built the table that Eminem and other white rappers eat off of. They made it ok to be a white rap artist. They showed what is possible. Thanks.
