The intro to the live version gives me chills every fucking time.
Ikr! Especially the palm muted part that goes *perfectly* with the drums.. ohh so good!
Sounds like beer, Skateboards, hot concrete and bloody knees. Sounds like childhood, first partys, first girlfriend. Sounds like old friendhips, carelessness.
And now, decades away, my children are hearing it. Sounds like pride? Yes.
Greets from Germany 🤟
I love that they look like dads. I’m 40, life changes you. But the music always stays the same. Love it!!
Damn straight man! I'm turning 40 this September, Rock on!
There's a movie called The Other F Word (www.imdb.com/title/tt1790867/) that you should watch, it's about these guys and a bunch of other famous punks growing older and dealing with balancing their musical careers with family life
When Greg starts pointing that finger you know class is in session.
Hahaha
still one of the greatest songs ever after all of these years.
Because wearing spikes, leather, and having a mohawk doesn't make you a punk. Punk is a mindset, a way of thinking and a way of viewing the world.
Tbf tho when they first formed they did have the stereotypical punk look. But that was almost 40 years ago
Fuck YES!!!
true
What band didn't have stereotypical punk look in their beggings :P
Why do some punk animal rights guys wear leather?
Brian Baker is such a great guitarist. The man can just simply flat out shred!
Have listened to punk rock my whole life, and out of all of the celebrities I would want my kids to look up to, Greg would be #1.
100% yes!
You posted this comment around the time I first got into BR. 6 years later and Greg is one of my biggest inspirations in life. He inspired me to write punk music and go to college. Without BR's music and Greg's perspective I may have never seen the value in my education.
Still an absolute ripper of a song. That e major over the vocal melody will always give me goosebumps
I love it when songs evolve. There's a reason these guys still pack venues after 30 years
I love that no matter how out of practice Mr Brett is, it just feels good when he shows up. Graffin and him both just light up! And Jay's singing is on point too!
Just hearing Brett sing is a rare treat, love these guys so much
this is the best generator performance man, how come these guys are getting even better?
I remember watching this when it aired. Makes me happy to know that non punk rockers can appreciate the greatness of Bad Religion
Jay's back vocals are on point
Listened to this as a 13 year old punk. Today as a 33 year old punk i still listen to the same song
They took a great song and made it even better. Awesome version!
The best band ever. Listening in 2019, and missing the old days! Big hug to all.
Love the way they play so many musically different versions of this song! My favourite one is the one from Germany in 1996, 'cause Greg is at his absolute PEAK vocally, and in the intro, the guys lay off the musical instruments, letting Greg take the intro on his own. It's unplanned, as you can see Greg is a bit uncomfortable when they let him do the intro alone, but it sounds GREAT! (Greg says "There it is!" when the guitar kicks back in and starts playing along with him) Great stuff! It's the generaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-tor! From Davey, HUGE Bad Religion fan from Éire (Ireland) :)
+David Hughes ^This!
Mylo-s Gaming
Ah, you agree I take it? :) Respect from HUGE Bad Religion NUT, Davey in Éire (Ireland) :)
I loved Greg in Germany 1996. Fantastic performance. Sorry, I commented from my gaming channel; forgot to switch accounts. I was born in Sarajevo (B&H), live in country South Australia now.
Mylo-s Gaming
Ah, very good! :) Bad Religion are amazing, they were my first favourite band, after I heard them for the first time over 20 years ago (I feel old saying that!).. Nice to meet you and glad you agreed with what I wrote! :) Have a nice day! All the best from your Irish friend and fellow Bad Religion fan, Irish Davey :)
Mylo-s Gaming
By the way, hope all is well in the beautiful Bosnia and Herzegovina :) Also hope you are alright in your new home in South Australia, also a beautiful part of the world! :)
Punk is dad.
Brian Young punk is dead, im a zombie
Jose Cuenca We're Listening To Dad Religion
best band ever
Armaan Ibrahim grandad religion is more like it
Brian Young Punks can't become dads: --> nWo depopulation programme.
But:
Tight as fuck, buddies!!!
🤘
The intro is awesome
Saw them like 20 years ago. That’d already been around for 20 years at that point with so many albums and I’m pretty sure this song was like a decade old. I’ll never forgot them half yelling at the crowd because most of the crowd seemed to only know them from this song and Tony Hawk Pro Skater. It was funny. One of the all time greats of punk and one of the true revolutionaries.
2 of my 4 kids love BR. They are 9 and 13. Its blasted out whilst driving.
I love how they are practically old men and they still rock out like they're 18!!! BAD RELIGION FOREVER!!!!
Practically old men? That one made me laugh indeed!
And 8 years later...
@@rickybobby8224 wtf i thougth it was uploaded last week 🤯
best live performance ever....that can only happen when you still love and have true passion about what you do after all these years~!thank you BR
No, not even close! Its ok.
that's perfection, bloody brilliant
Essa introdução é um arregaço 💥
My favourite band, one of their best songs.
Best song ever ... like a rock.
First time I heard Bad Religion, I expected to watch a video of them and see spikes and leather and red mohawks. Instead you get an average joe looking guy with a receding hairline. It's cool though, I dig it. He has a really distinct voice too, which makes it even cooler
Bad Religion will never get old
I just love there music
i first listen this song when i was 10 and now im 20 years old its like going back on a time machine :D
This just proves that Greg Graffin, with the right army behind behind him, cannot be stopped.
One of the best live bands to ever grace this earth.
Dude same. Fucking mind blowing.
thank you,..!!!!!!!!!!!!,.. i got to see this song live,..
1992, 15 years old, garage rock party at my friend's house. Never went back...
Greg is a monster.
The best version of this classic!
Generator is my favourite album. its got a unique atmosphere. listened to a thousand times....will sing it along even if im old and dementia´s got me!!!
Fuck his voice is so good, love how dorky he is as well. Genuine dude
My vocab is about 4 times as strong as it woulda been had I not bought the first 4 BR albums in the late eighties early nineties. Thanks all.
nice to some friends that have grown together
And rocked the world been around the world together....doesn't get better then thar
00
This is the pinnacle of beauty
Most beautiful Am song ever
finally a good recording of festival version! wahoo! bad religion should never retire
LOVE IT!!! Greetings from Europe//Belgium
Was, been and will always be my favorite BR song.
masterpiece.
great version of this amazing tune !
This guy is someone's college professor.
well he is a zoologist
Shit I would take notes.
@@garcia1177 You almost have to take notes and use a thesaurus while listening. Most intelligent band ever.
he actually taught college courses on evolutionary sciences, so yeah he is haha
My power went out cause I’m black and don’t work or pay my bills and we hooked our fridge up to the neighbor trailers generator
In the beginning, Brett is totally enjoying the band as a spectator. Love these guys who still love what they do!
2020 y sigue siendo la banda de mi vida!!
A dream, really... Thank you for all the great music, Bad Religion!
Another reason why they're the best, and my favorite, band in the entire world. Long live Bad Religion!
Like a rock
Like a planet
Like a fucking atom bomb
I'll remain unperturbed
By the joy and the madness
That I encounter everywhere I turn
I've seen it all along
In books and magazines
Like a twitch before dying
Like a pornographic scene
There's a flower behind the window
There's an ugly laughing man
Like a hummingbird in silence
Like the blood on my door
It's a generator
Like the blood on my door
Wash me clean and I will run
Until I reach the shore
I've known it all along
Like the bone under my skin
Like actors in a photograph
Like paper in the wind
There's a hammer by the window
There's a knife on the floor
Like turbines in darkness
Like the blood on my door
It's a generator
Like the blood on my door
Wash me clean and I will run
Until I reach the shore
This was one of the first songs I ever knew by bad religion. I was an eighth grade punk who just got my first pair of world war II combat boots at a flea market. 😂😂 Good times🤘🏻
3:21 We still miss you, Brooks.
Glad to see the spirit of 90...
Bring back my memory..
You fucking go, Brooks!
Brooks is awesome
Gabriel Cipriano Agreed
Wild man, in a class all by himself. Will be missed for sure. This lineup was and still is...like a ROCK!
haha I love Bretts look on this face during the intro thinking: 'what the hell are you guys doing with my song'
Shows how crucial Jays vox contribute to the overall Bad Religion sound.
+Phil Smith Also called oozin aahs.

Absolute perfection.
One of my favorite Bands. Amazing.
this is a great band. I love that punk sound
Legend,respect!greetings from KK Sabah🇲🇾😉🇲🇾
KK no future
the 94 dislikes must be prior students of his who flunked his classes !
I hope someday they do a version that keep the slower pace through the whole thing, love the song as is but that would be an epic ballad
Best Formation Ever
2:02 that harmony is so cool!
I wish Greg had been one of my science proffesors, must be cool to have him as a teacher.

They suck major ass
🤘
@@lumpenproletarier9584 Alot of their old songs are pretty good. However, its is more party-punk, then "serious punk"..

épica !
Wow, they're really good. Holy shit... Thanks for spreading the word, man!!
Awesome version
The die toten Hosen Shirt put some plus to this awesome video !
epic version !
my fav formation members!
I always loved punk rock from Bad Religion coz it was like the universe. It looks like a total sound caos but have a lovely rules ruling the noise. I had never seen this live.. And if you can say that this live sound much much much better than the official recorded song, then you said all you can say about a musicians group.. Genious playing a master piece.
One of Mr. Brett’s greatest compositions
que buen trabajo de guitarras y voces!
Amazing band. I love Brian's Die Toten Hosen shirt :)
They fucking suck from the 80s on.
It is awesome!!! The real punk!!!!
Still Sound Amazing After all These Years 🤘🤘🤙🤙
I fucking miss Greg being in BR; just glad I got to see them with him, same with Brooks as well. Never got to see them when Brett would join on tour, really regret that.
