    Dubs is our no1 now. He’s earned it, proven he’s more stable at the back than Pope. I can literally feel the terror in our back four when they pass back to Pope.

    All of this is assuming we reach the final, remember it’s only half time in the semi final.
    There’s lots of things up in the air right now regarding this transfer so he could walk away for nothing in the summer regardless of the situation now.
    Personally I’d keep him and more to the point play him as I’ve been concerned with Nick pope’s keeping all season and he hasn’t been right since his shoulder injury. He looks very nervous, doesn’t command his box as well as he did before and that’s all without the distribution with his feet which hasn’t been the best either. I suppose it’s now can we convince him to stay until then or more to the point does he want to stay until??. It’s a difficult conundrum for him so hopefully he can have a think about it over the weekend and the board come up with something that suits all parties which isn’t easy

  • @peterhyland586
    @peterhyland586 14 дней назад +3

    We should get James Trafford in, he will be our number one keeper next season or the season after. He is 22 years old and can become a amazing keeper under this club. Has so much potential and will be a England number one in the future. Our keepers are ageing and we need a decent young keeper what Trafford is.

    • @phiIip488

      @@peterhyland586 nope, there’s never been a good 22 year old keeper

    • @andrewcharlton6080

      We have a keep in Pope that we know can make important stops. We don’t quite know the form he’ll return in though so it would be a risk to our form to bring him back as number 1 at the minute.
      We have a keeper in Dubs that’s playing very well and whose superior distribution is helping our great run of form.
      Trafford might end up being our number 1 and a great long term keeper but right now in our current situation letting Dubs go and bringing in Trafford would be a gamble as it’s very unlikely the introduction of a 22 year old keeper would be seemless, even more so when he’s new to the club, it would take time for the defence to get to know him and become confident. It just doesn’t seem the right move to make given where we are.
      The correct footballing decision would be to try and convince Dubs to stay and to continue to play Dubs, if he finishes the season without his form dipping then great, if his form dips then you bring Pope back in.
      If we can afford Trafford now then bring him in, if we needed to let Dubs go to sign Trafford now then it might be a deal for the summer

      @phiIip488I just think that to Bromley it’ll be the highlight of their season and they’ll play out of their skins. To us it’s a come down from Man Utd, spuds and AFC. When you make a lot of changes you lose cohesion and continuity and players start trying to do it all themselves and you end up with a total turd of a performance - disjointed and blunt. So, put a few of the core in there, especially in the spine. Burn would be a good shout if he really didn’t need a rest ‘cos he’s not going to let anyone lack off.

    Dubravka is still under contract until the summer, isn't he? So regardless of him agreeing personal terms with AL whatever, NUFC don't have to sanction the transfer, nor should they. I can't for the life of me understand why they would even consider selling him at this point. No sign of Pope's return, the second leg of a cup semi-final at the start of next month, but before that four league games against Wolves, Bournemouth, Southampton and Fulham, three of which are at home! It would be madness to let him go now, for the sake of a few quid that won't even dent PSR.

We can double our revenue from a new stadiumThe Cartel are so jealous and so worried that we have a New stadium and double the revenue that even the supporters of the cartel are calling in on Radio stations saying we should stay at St James" park..What interest could they have for our well-being ? NONE !.. The Cartel are putting rules in place so we can't get near them and they are saying HA HA HA you got all that money but we won't let you spend it as they change the rules to suit the cartel and vote for themselves constantly..Disgusting . ..Why ? other than they are scared of our potential and our massive support , The cartel have kept us down since our New owners arrived with new rules only brought in to kill Newcastle United off and stop them challenging them..The Saudi people do not do things by Half and Any Stadium they build will be the *th wonder of the world and something we Geordies can all be so so proud of . Even if its Gosforth park it will be fine as fast matchday shuttles out of the city taking 5 mins to the New Stadium. I feel privileged and honoured that the Saudi People are giving us this amazing Chance of a New Stadium,,we are so lucky to have them with us all the way. If we announce a 80 thousand seat stadium then Man Utd will announce a 90 thousand seat stadium just so s they can call themselves the top team, the biggest Team In the North ..Lets get ahead of them and Build the biggest and the best. the 8th wonder of the world. St James park in 20 years time will not be fit for purpose Grey, cheesy, old, dated, and most of all problems seriously LOW TECH ..not fit for todays digital world and multi stadium use. WTF is going on, did they have a verbal agreement with dubs to let him go? It reminds me of the last window, I want to think that howe and Mitchell are working together, but things like this give me doubts

    • @andrewcharlton6080
      @andrewcharlton6080 14 дней назад +1

      Why the overreaction? And why does any of this means that there seems to be division between Howe and Mitchell?
      Howe said that is Dubs wanted to leave he wouldn’t stand in his way but wanted him to stay.
      Mitchell initially was willing to let him go for business reasons but after his fantastic reintroduction agreed with Howe that any financial benefit wasn’t worth losing him this month given his form.
      They are trying to convince him to stay, what’s wrong with that? If after those conversations he says he still wants to go because he doesn’t want to lose the opportunity of a last big pay check then I’d imagine they’ll honour his opinion.
      At the end of the day all of the reports say they are trying to convince him, they are not just saying ‘you’re staying’. They don’t want an unhappy player that might cause a little unrest so are discussing it with him and hoping he’ll decide to stay.
      If anything this shows that Howe and Mitchell are on the same page, Howe has said multiple times that he wants Dubs to stay but if he decides he wants to leave the club will honour that. Mitchell is doing everything he can to try and convince Dubs to stay even going as far as offering him a few million as a bonus, considering the PSR restrictions we have that’s a huge sign that Mitchell is doing his very best to resolve this for Howe.

    • @markspark7634
      @markspark7634 12 дней назад

      I probably am, it just feels a bit of a mess, since dubs is contracted to us till the end of this season, that means he is not going anywhere unless we allow it, and that's what I don't understand, unless there was a verbal agreement with dubs to allow to leave if and when he wanted, whichni would find a little strange

    • @andrewcharlton6080
      @andrewcharlton6080 11 дней назад

      @One of the reasons we have over-performed over the last few seasons is due to the dressing room atmosphere and the squads togetherness. Howe has said he only wants players who are 100’s committed so when Dubs was offered a huge deal from Saudi Howe said that if Dubs wanted to go he wouldn’t stand in his way. The club and Howe are completely within their rights to say “no, you’re still in contract so you’re staying here until the end of the season”. That might make Dubs angry and foster resentment between him, the club and other players, we don’t want that.
      Instead they are trying to convince him to stay but if he decides he still needs to leave then he’ll be allowed to.
      Rather than hinting that there’s a rift between Howe and Mitchell it shows they are on the same page, there’s no real financial benefit to the club to left Dubs leave now, if he left now it could jeopardise our league cup run and us getting top 4 so even though money is tight Mitchell is offering Dubs more to stay until the end of the season. Howe has clearly said that he wants Dubs to stay so hopes it can be resolved so there’s no gentleman’s agreement that he can move

    Let's be honest about this. Dubravka is a better keeper with the ball at his feet, but I'd argue that he's not made one save that Nick Pope wouldn't have made. He's come in to the team at a point where the Defence has tightened itself up. So imo, Dubravka isn't a better keeper than Pope at all. But there us definitely an decision to be made on whether you go with the better shot stopper, or better distributor.
