Love my 2020 Heritage 114. I don’t take a lot of really long trips but the bike easily handles the 7 hour trip to my brothers house. 80 mph on I-95 is very stable and planted. Plus it’s easier to throw around in the twisties. Harley’s most versatile bike. And I have previously owned a Road King. Also a great bike.
My first Harley was the 2000 Electra Glide Standard in 2000. I bought it in San Diego California and use do regular rides up to San Francisco up the coastal hwy. What a great bike.
I tried them both and went with the 21 EGS too, much smoother ride, fairing works great, moved up from dyna lowrider, so am getting use to heavier bike, so far loving it!!!
Fantastic review. I have the 21 EGS and the 19 HS. Both 107s. Both solo setups. The HS is Billiard Blue and White. The EGS obviously black. Love them both. Did stage 1 on both with V&H exhaust (love that sound).
I really dig that First Manufacturing gear. On 2nd piece now...I'm a Heritage guy, but I don't like the blacked out windshield. I like to see the headlight bezel.
Every dealership in my area (6 of them) are the same way. A new bike comes in and gets sold within a couple of days. One dealership was down to 1 new bike on their showroom floor until they bought several from a dealership in Iowa which was going out of business. Buy what you want as soon as you see it because it might not be there tomorrow.
A really cool comparison. Both are just great cruising scoots, without all the fancy stuff. Batwing fairing is going to give more protection for sure, but the windshield still blocks alot. Glad I did get my 18 FLHC early on to have the blacked out 107(with 447 cam) and she shits'n gits!! I own a 17 SGS as well, and both are just so awesome for all types of riding, but I do think the heritage is a little more versatile and easier to adjust from long haul to around town. Shiny side up yall!!
Both great choices and it wasn’t all that hard of a choice for me, I chose a 2021 Electra Glide Standard as my current bike! I’ve had both baggers and softails in the past, I had a 2005 Heritage Springer and a 2010 Electra Glide Ultra that I stripped down to a Street Glide basically and for me I was torn, but ultimately went with the Electra Glide Standard!
The Electra Glide standard for the wind protection, ease of access to the engine, larger bags that are finshed in hard plastic, aluminum wheels, dual disk brakes, interior dash layout.
Interesting comparison. I thought Road King vs Heritage would make more sense as both bikes are conceptual comparable. I pick the EGS as I get RDRS optional and access to the unlimited aftermarket parts pool for the touring frame. Seat height should be a mentionable point, too. I think the Heritage has HID lights in the front while the EGS doesn't. Maybe down the road you find the opportunity to compare the EGS to the FLHTP. Should be interesting, I'm doing that for myself right now and made surprising findings. 😉 Thanks for sharing the video.👍
A good choice for comparison. Both are well established models. The issue with H-D is still supply chain due to covid. Parts are part to find as well and many are back ordered. The suspension is a difference and engine guards on the Electra glide. I went with the heritage ( I looked at the road king as well ) the main reason was I can easily turn it into old school cruiser , removing the pillion seat and windscreen, yet I can ride 2 up for week end trips. The Electra glide is a bit of an odd duck. If I was doing week long trips a lot I’d go to the street or road glide as they are just bigger and have more features.
I will say I’d pick the Heritage due to the weight difference. I own a Limited. When I go on a long trip, I ride it. And, I ride it everyday since that’s all I have. I’d go with the Heritage for a second bike because it would handle a little better in town. Plus, as a second bike, I might want to loan it to a friend and it would be a little easier for them to handle too.
They have windshield locks. I love being able to put and engine guard on the heritage and highway pegs. As far as brakes all on has to do is slow down and use brakes when you need them. Both bikes can have a heel toe shifter pit on.
Elecktra glide standard for me. It’s like a street glide with no radio and a lot cheaper. I like riding solo so no back seat and pegs appeals to me as well.
I like both of them. I think that memphis shades makes a batwing for the heritage. Since I ride until the salt hits the ground I need wind coverage. With that said I'm 5'8 and don't have super long legs. I would pick the softail because I find the seats on the touring bikes hurt my hips.
I've had a ultra limited, street glide special and now a 750 street rod I'm fixing to trade but I still can't decide between these two. I'm leaning towards the classic because of the 114 but who knows decisions decisions good review on these bikes well done.
Heritage Softail = Shorter/lighter riders, more around town cruising, & fewer stretches on highway UltraGlide's = taller/heavier riders, mostly highway travelling, alot/more stretches on highway Both great bikes, very nice comparison.
What's a good stereo for 2022 Electra glide? An what plug n play harness? I'm leaning Electra glide but husband is leaning heritage. Like both but I'm thinking comfort for me!
Interesting as on a previous motorcycle I had a full Vetter Fairing with lowers and ending up trading it for a smaller Clear Fairing Owned 3 sets of saddle bags with Shoei first then Vetter which leaked and then the frames kept cracking and Finally a set Of Samsonite which were the best with there rock solid mounts and quick detach for the hotel at night
Electra Glide Standard all day baby are you kidding me? Listen I love the Heritage but up against big fella there..no! Great reviews as always but so far this is my fave.
Are the rear suspension of the electra glide standard the same than those of the electraglide ultraclassic or limited ? I am wondering about the confort which is LinkedIn to the suspension range/lent...
Do they still make the Breakout? If so, can you review that please. I like the 103 because it had a bigger tank. Not sure why Harley goes smaller on their tanks! The Breakout reminds me of a fatter version of the Deuce with the rake etc. Thanks 👊
i have a 2020 EG standard. hands down the best bike harley makes. it is a bare bones bagger that you can customize from the ground up. everything that fits a street glide or ultra, will fit this bike. however... these are 2 completely unrelated bikes. the proper comparison would be the EG standard vs road king......... OR ............. softail heritage vs road king the ONLY drawback is that it is a litter over priced considering how stripped down it is.
if you are only riding in town, yes. if you are going to put miles on the bike and prefer that windscreen, then you will thank me later for telling you to choose a road king
I can tolerate lace spoke wheels, but that giant dish on the front rim of the heritage is absolutely disgusting and ruins it for me. Honestly I'll stick with my Fatboy and eventually buy me a Glide for long hauls.

What year was your Roadking?
I picked a 2020 Electra Glide Standard, love it. Tubeless tires and linked brakes along with the full fairing were my reasons. Also looks good to me!
I love the look of these. Did you keep the solo seat?
@@throttleblip9854 no went with the hammock seat with small pillion backrest and large luggage rack for more storage.
@@throttleblip9854 For me its the Hertiage with the option of the 114...
Excellent Vblog... I picked the 2019 FLHCS because of style, power option, versatility, & nostalgic looks.

Man their stuff is so good. Agreed on the windshield.

I see it everyday. I know people think it's a sales tactic but it's really not.

I think I've done that one before, hard to keep track at this point. lol

Man so many parts are on backorder. I hangout at the parts counter all the time and it's crazy how many times I hear that.
The standard vs Road king would have been good too!

All solid points!!
i down the Heritage Classic 114, because she Looks so much better and it is so easy to handle
Would love if you can do a head to head comparison of a Street Glide Vs the Electra Glide Standard
Electra Glide Standard is my pick, but unfortunately not available this year here in Europe.
Great review as always!
Thanks,Mike. Much appreciated!

That's interesting. I'm 5'11 and have the same issue on the stock foot position of the Lowrider S.

That really hard choice, but think the Elektra Glide Standard is good starting point if you really want to customize it to make it your own.
So many parts to fit that thing.
I like the electra glide standard. I'm actually selling my nightster for the down payment on one. None of the dealers around here have one though.
Dude! Yes! Great comparison
Glad you liked it!
Heritage Softail = Shorter/lighter riders, more around town cruising, & fewer stretches on highway
UltraGlide's = taller/heavier riders, mostly highway travelling, alot/more stretches on highway
Both great bikes, very nice comparison.

I'm leaning Electra glide but husband is leaning heritage. Like both but I'm thinking comfort for me!
I’m not a fan of the faring. Don’t really need it riding in warmer climates so I am going with what I ride the SHC.
Interesting as on a previous motorcycle I had a full Vetter Fairing with lowers and ending up trading it for a smaller Clear Fairing

Electra Glide Standard all day baby are you kidding me? Listen I love the Heritage but up against big fella there..no! Great reviews as always but so far this is my fave.
How many six packs of beer can you fit in the hard bags on the Electra?
Either ride, you can't go wrong!🏍️ You need to find the bike that meets your needs in riding.👍🤓⭐⭐⭐🐻 Doug
Love it! And love my 2020 FLHT
Badass intro man!
Thank you!!
Are the rear suspension of the electra glide standard the same than those of the electraglide ultraclassic or limited ? I am wondering about the confort which is LinkedIn to the suspension range/lent...
its the same shitty 2.1 inches of travel that the street glide has
Perfect comparison
Much love!
Do they still make the Breakout? If so, can you review that please. I like the 103 because it had a bigger tank. Not sure why Harley goes smaller on their tanks! The Breakout reminds me of a fatter version of the Deuce with the rake etc. Thanks 👊
Sadly no more Breakout models. When I waist sales they did pretty good so not sure why.
I would love to see FLHT vs FLHR!
I'll take the glide with the heritage saddle.
These both are my next bike options. I asked for it. 🤷🏻♂️
i have a 2020 EG standard. hands down the best bike harley makes. it is a bare bones bagger that you can customize from the ground up. everything that fits a street glide or ultra, will fit this bike.

Exactly! Build it to fit YOU!
So both can be compared to the road king but not to each other 🧐
Heritage Softail for the win.
More classic and way more versatile.
whew gettin' fancy with intros n stuff!
Hahaha gotta step the game up!! lol
Harley sells a tour pack for the Heritage... Studs and all
I am 5 ' 10" and I weigh 240 pounds But I still like the heritage could I get away with it?
if you are only riding in town, yes.
if you are going to put miles on the bike and prefer that windscreen, then you will thank me later for telling you to choose a road king
For sure. Especially if it's just you most of the time.
Absolutely. I am 6’2” and 280 and I love my 2020 Heritage. Great around town and on long trips.
Does Electra glide had a USB port?
It does! In the little cubby hole in the front fairing.
I love the original way more - the Harley-Davidson vintage bikes
I can tolerate lace spoke wheels, but that giant dish on the front rim of the heritage is absolutely disgusting and ruins it for me. Honestly I'll stick with my Fatboy and eventually buy me a Glide for long hauls.
I guess just an old guy i want everything chromed lol
Standard.
Does the Black hold up as well to long term cleaning compared to Chrome as I worry about scratching it
