🇨🇦May Stompin Tom Connors. Rest in Eternal Peace! A True Canadian Hero that will be truly MISS From a Huge Fan from Sydney Nova Scotia.🇧🇩 Signed:T. Brennan.🇨🇦
Excellent 👍. We miss ya Tom. I recognize two of the lads in the video,, 🙂
I was one of the crew on this video. It was a real honour to meet the soldiers at the base and to work with Stompin Tom.
The 7 people who disliked this song and video must have something wrong with their heads.
Maybe those seven people are fans of Lee Greenwood - Yuck!
I'm a CDN Veteran......Royal Canadian Regiment...PRO PATRIA!!
A RCR or Run Chicken Run. No disrespect intended form a Pickley. Or Princess Patty's Pansy's.
It is a vey good film

AS a Former Blue Beret Thank you Tom an awesome song !
RIP Stompin Tom Connors thank for all the great songs that you have done for Canada
I suspect that if Sean Hannity were to hear this song, he would go crazy, for he couldn't take anything other than American military work, I'm afraid.
I'm a U.S. Citizen - and a fan of Stompin' Tom Connors. Thank you, Stompin' Tom - and Thank You, Canada.
To all our Blue Berets past and present, thank you.
When the world thinks of Peace Keeping they think of Canada, when CANADIANS THINK of a TRUE Ambassador, we think of a truly patriotic man "STOMPIN TOM"... HE shall be missed.
OMG! I heard about it from you. RIP Stompin' Tom. You will be sorely missed. Cheers from a fan from the USA. May the angels tap their feet when you reach heaven.
I first heard this song on the documentary "Shake Hands With the Devil" about the 1994 Rwanda genocide. The Canadian general who commanded the ill-fated UN peacekeeping operation, Romeo Dallaire, said he'd play this song when artillery started flying outside of the flimsy bunker which served as his HQ.
So, how much do Canadians value the blue berets? You actually have one on your money. Featured on the CAN$10 bill is a female soldier looking through binoculars wearing a UN blue beret.
The Stomper shook hands with the best.!
R.I.P Tom Connors, good song. I served as blue beret in Bosnia form 1993 to 1996
If you see this
Thank you so much for your service!

From a Rwandan Blue Beret, Tom you will be missed but not forgotten.
If you see this
Thank you so much for your service!
@lsnows thanks for sharing this tidbit of info and some history too!
I remember when they came to our Base in Petawawa, Ontario to film portions of this video. My young girls got a thrill out of being chosen to be in a "Rock Video". After they said that, I then showed them the kind of music Stomping Tom makes, thinking they would be dissappointed.
I was happily suprised when they said "It's still cool Dad!"
They are the kids holding a picture of themselves, after having gotten out of bed late at night, just a few days before Christmas of '88, to welcome me hom
RIP
From a UN Canadian Vet
Tom song one more for Canada.
God Bless our Canadian Troops...
Pause it @ 1;04! awesome picture! (the two patches next to each other)
GOD bless the U.S.,CANADA AND STOMPIN TOM!!!
The US and Russia are not permitted to be part of the Blue Berets but Canada was the founding country for the UN Piece Keeping Force, (The Blue Berets).
Remember Medak Pocket where the Canadians fought the Croatian Army for 2 days straight. The Canucks never backed down and did their best to save Serbian civilians who were massacred. God Bless Tom for singing about our brave Canuck boys!!
R.I.P Dear Tom...You will be missed so much......
read the comments from the soldiers, you will learn a lot of the blue beret idea didn't work out. The soldiers did their jobs, but politics and coward civies failed them.
More truth to that now than there ever was.
My spouse served in Mali in 2018-2019. She went thinking she was going to help people, only to learn that her purpose there was purely political.
At least she got some tour money and a couple of medals to show for it.
May he rest in peace! He was THE Canadian.
For What It's Worth, I suspect that if one Lee Greenwood were to hear this song, he would most likely urinate blood for seven to ten days.
For the record, let my say that I am a U.S, citizen who cherishes Canada - and that I'm still thankful to Canada and the Canadian people - especially one Kenneth Taylor, who, in his capacity as the Canadian Ambassador to Iran, concealed six employees of the U.S. Embassy in his embassy in Teheran, and smuggled all six of them out of the country.
Thank You, Stompin' Tom Connors, Thank You, Kenneth Taylor and your staff - but, most of all - Thank You Canada!
stomping tom blue berets
RIP Stomping Tom You will be missed by all Canada
This is when th UN meant something
RIP Tom!
God bless all the men and women who does this kind of a job. too bad the UN don't have the guts put teeth into their mission. go in and put some whoop arse on the bad guy and then hoster your weapons and tell the country to keep the bad people our or else.
r.i.p. stompin tom
Wow ,that was to much. RIP Tom!
Sorry, no I don't. I was armour, LdSH(RC) during my tours there. TOW Troop the first one in '94, BG INT NCO the second in '97.
Agreed, Soldier. Let us Soldier, don't tie our hands with useless ROE's that get good men and women killed. We are not police officers, we are soldiers.
Couple of familiar faces in this.
Totally agree RazorCell7. This is our tax dollars hard at work and they can't even spend it right. They are too concerned with saving face and not saving lives
Don't they have to radio in to command and get permission o even fire in self defense? I think some platoon leaders say screw it, we come under fire I'm giving the order to return it and if i face a charges/court marital at least my men are still around .
UNAMIR, under Dollaire?

Would it be okay if I wore a blue beret while doing charity/community work to keep my community safer? I was just wondering if its illegal to or not. i'd be carrying pepper spray on me for self protection.
I assume it would be fine. wearing a plate carrier would be more intimidating though.
Don't wear the blue beret unless you were in the UN Piece Keeping Force. It is called "Stolen Valor" and pepper spray is illegal in Canada as well as a Criminal Offense to carry it.
