Lovely video! Thank you for addressing COVID-- there aren't many recent videos of DiscoverEU which I can find (as the past few years haven't been able to go ahead as much). Fab video, thank you!
If you take ICE and all other trains in Germany you don,t need a seat reservation, unless nighttrains. But in all other countries you definitely need one ex Poland where you can be thrown of a train or get a fine if you don,t have one. So in most countries you need res now.
Great video! I’m thinking of going in the summer but wasn’t planning booking hostels until I was in the country, which is what I’ve seen other people do on different videos. Do you know if hostels have to be booked in advanced due to Covid? Didn’t think about that until watching this video!
Thank you so much! I’d say booking them when you’re there will be fine, just keep up to date with the covid restrictions in each country and if you know where you’re gonna go then have a look at what hostels are available and whether they have any restrictions with covid. Just so then you don’t get there and come across a load of issues. I’d say also if you’re gonna book in advance, make sure they have good cancellation policies just in case your plans or covid changes things x
This was soo helpful! Just to give me a bit of an idea, how much did you have as emergency money or how much do you recommend for a little over a month trip?
I’m glad it helped!! It depends how many places you’re going within that time but I’d try and have about £50 to spend each day. Some days you’ll spend less than this and some days a little more but at least this way you’re covered! Obviously this will be on top of paying for your interrail pass and your accommodation (although it could cover that too in some instances). So on top of your interrail pass I’d say for a month you need about £1500 to cover your spending (and hopefully accommodation too) but the more you can save the better! Plus having about £200 just as emergency money that you don’t touch will save you in case you have any issues! Hope that helps, I’ll do another video soon about this x
Hello! Thanks you for the video. Question- so 7 days within a month. Does that mean when I activate my pass then I have 24 hours of use from activation? Or once I’ve done a 7 hour train journey can I deactivate it when I leave the train station then pick the rest of the hours up when I need to travel again? Thank you!
Hello! Thanks for watching. Unfortunately you can only travel on the actual days you choose. So you have 7 days you can choose from but sometimes your travel might not take that long but if you stop and continue to travel on another day, it will count as another travel day - despite you not using the full 24 hours. So it’s all about the actual dates not the hours. Hope that makes sense :)
Aw thank you!! I’d say don’t take much physical cash with you and have it all on your card as it’s much safer that way and you can withdraw cash if needed! But it all comes down to how long you’re out there for / where you’re staying etc. I’d say have around £40 to spend each day your there. Some days you’ll spend less but some days you’ll spend more! Try to save it on food by having packed lunches or staying in hotels/hostels with breakfast included :) Obviously that’s just your spending money so you’ll need to keep money aside for all your accommodation, attractions bookings etc. I’ll do a video soon about budgeting so hopefully that will help more! X
No I don’t think backpacking is a bad idea - it’s a great idea! The only concern I would have for doing it right now is Covid, but I think that by summer things should get better with that & if you’ve done your research on the countries your going to and got yourself sorted with tests/vaccines then you’ll be ok! And think you’d have the time of your life 🌍✨🧳

Love this video! I'm planning to go Interrailing in Summer - how much money do you recommend to bring? I have 7 travel days across 1 month. Thank you!

@@MaisieCraddock Thank you sooo much! That's really helpful. Can't wait to watch x
Thank you for the tips! Do you know if the passes are the same for brits post-brexit?
No problem at all! I hope it helped! The passes haven't been affected since Brexit for UK Citizens so you are good to go! 🚝
Ah that’s good to know thanks!
if i activate my pass at 15:00 will it valid untill 3:00 next day??
Yes! Each travel day lasts for 24 hours from midnight to midnight so this would only be 12 hours within that time frame :)
