I’ve landed on this talk after stumbling through the ideas that art is math therefore math is art. I was one of those people who didn’t like maths because there was only one answer and one correct way of doing things. I wasn’t given the full picture, the why. I recently started incorporating impossible shapes in my art because I found them mind bending and fascinating. That lead me to watch some videos on theoretical physics, higher dimensions, string theory and unified theory. I now have so much more appreciation for maths and how damn creative it is. As an artist I’m now obsessed with the relationship between imagination and reality. We couldn’t possibly begin to explain reality without imagination. We create art for the same reason we search for answers in physics and philosophy. To attempt explain the unexplainable, to fathom the unfathomable, to count the infinite. To look beyond the event horizon.
I think physics depends on the laws of the real world. It is an application of math in the real world so I don't think it meets the creativity criterion or the human made one
Art is the milkman , says my friend Kelan , who's milkman was named Art . Art is the cycling of sensorially experienced reality through the human system and then re released out into the universe .
Mathematics was developed in Africa. The Ishango Bone clearly demonstrates this fact. The pyramids, Adam's Calendar etc. Pythagoras and the Greeks learned mathematics in Africa. Imhotep was a polymath. They deified him. Tell the whole story. Smh
The subjects such as economics, physics, chemistry and biology etc are all physical entities that has its own physical presence on the ground but Mathematics is devoid of this traits and solely bases in imaginary thoughts that is why it's used as a tool to supplement the needs of other subjects. If Math doesn't want to be used for the needs of other subjects then why to study it just to bulge our minds???

Professional Wrestling and Mathematics are two of my favorite things. Two great underrated art forms.

I think math should be taught as an art form
Great. It's great that I discovered this.
I completely agree but couldn’t one argue by this philosophy that physics is an art?

less go :D
Then according to this when we study arts and science should they include math in it
