Free speech does not apply to a privately owned platform. RUclips can set ant rules ban you for any reason. If you don't like it complain to RUclips's advertisers. RUclips is here to sell advertising and make money. Religious organizations do just that, advertisers tell YT they don.t like the atheists videos and policies get changed.

Loosing Hitchens, Dawkins and Harris from the YT would be a devastating blow to an atheist community. They converted more people through YT then all other factors combined. Dawkins and Harris should make more content through their own foundations and make them free for all so YT can't remove them. Keep up the good work Agathan foundation.. Stay strong man..

I was raised Christian and was very devout until about 29yo when I finally was able to admit that what I had been taught about religion was all superstition. I have been an atheist now for decades. @@AgatanFndSo you have noticed there are fewer Hitchens videos out because of RUclips copywrite law and the 8 month penalty period. WTF! We need to preserve the long format discussions to preserve the civil discourses we need to thrive.
Since Google bought RUclips we all should we awake to politics and the attack on free speech.
I was subscribed to Science.net. After a while went by and they seemed to have stopped posting, I clicked the icon in my subscriptions feed and got a message saying that the channel had been deleted by RUclips for "repeated spam violations." Apparently "spam" to them means compilation videos, since you cannot be spammed by a channel you deliberately subscribed to.
I mentioned the copyright strikes in this video, but I forgot to mention the channel receives 3 strikes within 6 months the channel will be deleted and the channel owner can never open another RUclips account.

Atheist here, RUclips content is constantly reaffirming my stance that there is zero evidence, zero need and zero influence of any god or gods on us or any other part of the universe that we can know of currently. While, at age 66 and a life-long atheist, I obviously wasn't deconverted by youtube, I've found the sort of content you in particular share especially enriching. Hey, i'm glad to see you back uploading, i really never respond, but yes your so right, ive been subscribed to you and sciencenet and some others for years, your actually the only one left in my list with any video's up, i am dutch and born into a fundamental reformed christian family, my mother was not married so i got brought up with you need to love jezus a lot to get forgiven, it actually got me into a fight aged 6 in church in a special kid indoctrination of the bible, it was about dinosaurs and humans.... so i became atheist quite young. when i was 10 i moved to a big city among a muslim majority neighbourhood to escape my mad family and town, i was glad i could talk hatefully about the church against the dutch kids in my class, who all had a similair background, when a muslim however heard it i tried my best not to offend them but got beaten anyway, because i was convinced religion was not good for our age. Then in 2001 a dutch politician named Pim Fortuyn, You got to check him out, he was a real character, but he saw a dark future for my country concerning islam and the EU, in less then a year he led to polls to win the elections, then he got killed on the street, by an antifa member ( hes already free no joke ) , i was 11 and on my way back from school, from that moment i got fascinated by history and politics, and the human way of thinking, It ruined my school, i got an IQ of 140 but i managed to get myself into the lowest way of education ( its called ''special'' and they teach you dutch and how to mow a lawn ) , because i could not ever afford the degrees i wanted at that time, nor did i want to make the useless tasks school gave me, i went and read books instead of paying attention to class. and due to my ''violent behaviour'' al schools did not want to give me a special scholarship in the field of mythology/history. So now im a trucker who can tell you anything about pretty much everything, but feels powerless in the wrong way society goes. My country now has the most contribution to foreign ISIS fighters, About 13 islamic attacks in the past 20 years, only one ( murder of theo van gogh, grandson of ) recognized as islamic, the rest where ''confused dutch citizens''. And the problem is ive read the quran and hadiths, And we got a clear majority of dutch muslims who dont give anything about those books, they just act on it culturally, while open borders and mass immigration provide a wave of muslims that are fundamental and the dutch muslims wont openly talk about it because they know from pim fortuyn our government spins their word to create hatred towards them, We are really in a pickle concerning islam, and i dont think talking about it from your side helps, Atleast not for my assume of your general public. There has been so much talk about islam, everything is basicly out there. Politics in europe needs to recognize islam ( aswell as christianity ) as something that can turn into a mental decease wich clouds rational judgement, and get it treated properly in mental health clinics, because right now all ISIS fighters are having a 2 year holiday in a clinic where its bias to get any religious book on the table and say, this is a faerietale, and you seem to forgot that. Then they go to jail for 3 years to set up contacts, and then our security services get to them right in time ( or 1 becomes slighly succesfull ''confused'' ) Anyway, i had a few muslim friends, and me showing them videos from your channel made them see critisicm of islam is not personal. i think thats an important massage you might be able to send out. But otherwise keep yourself away from islam is my advice :). Religion and politics are so far gone these days i got no clue about whats left to say about it that hasnt been said, without you getting banned for becoming a ''conspiracy theory'' channel. I hope you will stay well and enjoy life, upload whatever you feel like doing, ill enjoy it anyway!. My apologies if its a long soup of words, i dont have to write english often :)

I remember when Google was first starting up. Their motto was, "Don't be evil." It would seem that has changed. I have heard similar pleas from many of my favorite presenters. I have no idea what it is that I could possibly do to help. I can't afford to support monetarily all the channels that I enjoy watching. I can't make Google stop being 'evil.' I hope that a new platform is formed and is popularized in the way that RUclips once was.
My perspective on Google's so-called change from "Don't be evil" to what many now call their "being evil" is that they don't see/think/believe they are doing evil. Their corporate and individual employee worldview is that they ARE doing good, even trying to block evil. You cannot objectively say they are doing evil, just that you think they are ... according to your values. .
It all comes down to perspective. One man's truth is another man's bullshit.
I love everything you've done and it's nice to "meet" the person behind it all. I think you could do an awesome audio podcast, you could cover all sorts of atheism - related topics and you wouldn't need to be on camera if that makes you uncomfortable. You couldn't do the compilations but you could have guests. I listen to Cognitive Dissonance, the Scathing Atheist, Thank God I'm Atheist, the Thinking Atheist and more. I listen to some on ITunes and some on Stitcher and neither seems to have an issue with content. I confess I'm not sure how it works but there must be SOME way to keep Agatan alive!

I have been watching for a couple of years now (I actually started watching right around the time of this video but didn't see it till now) and you're still here bud!! I don't know about the money situation after this amount of time but whether you are getting paid or not I just want you to know your videos are even more important now than ever and I make sure to watch at least one or two each day. On a side note I must say your camera shyness was obvious so well done on pushing through and talking for 20 mins I couldn't do that, if have jammed it all in to 1 minute then I'd be running off screen lol

Asking for money for doing what you already love to do is perhaps a lot harder than asking for money for doing something you really dislike.
And yes, I think you could diversify your content and appear in your uploads, maybe host conversations with people who are a part of the agnostic/atheist/anti-theist community, maybe host and stream debates/discussions on this or that other topic, either as a kind of moderator or as a participant.
I know, for one instance, that as an agnostic it is unbelievably annoying that so few people make a distinction between agnosticism and atheism and I have had well-meaning atheists explain to me that I am really an atheist like they are when I know that I am most certainly not. They don't even know how an agnostic like myself is thinking about deistic questions and they tend to project their own beliefs about agnosticism on to all agnostics. Sadly it is nearly all religious people and nearly all atheists who do this. From my pov atheists and religious people are more alike than different in some key respects and this is one of those respects: neither seems very familiar with the variety and range of agnostic thought.
Would love video content which offers one or more agnostics a chance to explain themselves. Agnosticism is maybe the single most misunderstood way to approach the question of whether or not god exists if only because almost everyone who isn't an agnostic is already so convinced that they already know what all agnostics think, it is as though all agnostics have one hive mind. We don't. There's a lot of missing nuance.
I have even had well-meaning atheists politely rebuke and then 'correct' me about my own beliefs. I don't just mean they have said that I am wrong for believing what I believe, they have instead told me that I am wrong about what I really believe _as though they know my agnostic beliefs better than I do._ This is likely a common experience for many agnostics but it's not going to be as common as the experience of being called a fence-sitter, a moral coward etc etc. The odd thing is that both religious people and atheists are known to resort to this exact same kind of pejorative so, to an agnostic, debating a religious person can be an almost identical experience to debating an atheist. I wish there were content like that RUclips.

Thanks for the insight. A great channel I subscribed to was just demonetized completely, for no apparent reason. Godless Cranium from Canada, He's a small channel that puts out great content and respectfully debates religious zealots from many different groups.
I use your content as a refresher as the debates you highlight are what helped mold my renewed love of science and reason. Have you thought about collaborating with other channels to boost views/subscribers? Not sure if that will help, but it may be worth looking into.

You should be able to display copyrighted material under the fair use clause, so long as it is for educational purposes, or critical analysis. This is something that a copyright lawyer would be able to assist you with (if it's at all possible with your financial situation). Many RUclipsrs now have disclaimers at the beginning of their videos, for exactly this purpose.
I certainly you hope that you & other RUclipsrs getting actively suppressed by the (illegal) weaponisation of the copyright system, find an alternative platform soon. Please publish another video letting us know where we'll need to go for quality content in the future, just as soon as you do. Thankyou.

Not sure if I would blame the platform entirely for the disappearance of said videos by Hitchens and/or Dawkins, but rather with the turn the entire community evolved over the years. Here is the way I see this "progression": I started watching channels like DarkMatter2525, SyeTenAtheist, AIU, Thunderf00t, Sargon - in short: "the old guard" - despite having been an atheist my entire life, like my dad and my granddad before him. It was fun times, slugging it out with the religious, mainly creationists and I doubt a lot of the younger users will even remember our lol-cows like Ray Comfort, VenomfangX or Kirk Cameron. Mainly because they're no longer here, for obvious reasons.
Though lot of internet-atheists considered that a triumph, that was very short-lived and you could see the atheist community(s) split more and more. A lot became what can be described as "social commentators" and centrists; a lot became SJWs - often so far left, that they made it seem like everybody right of Stalin was suddenly a "nazi". So, a new clash was practically pre-programmed. Names like Hitchens, Dawkins or Harris were mentioned more seldom - and I'm still very sure of it: if Hitch would still be among the living, he would have been treated the same way Richard Dawkins was, a few years ago: slandered as a sexist, islamophobe, homophobe, racist and every other buzzword from the SJW-dictionary (slim as it is). The centrists and more right-leaning atheists however, probably no longer uploaded or watched any material by the "Four Horsemen", mainly because they knew them by heart anyway and figured that all was said already. A wrong assumption, since it's good to still see - thanks to channels like this one here - that there are still plenty of younger viewers, who got to see and hear them for the first time.
On the topic of islam: some people still wonder, why the earlier atheist channels went so vehemently against xstians (perceiving them as "the lesser of two evils"), while often ignoring other religions almost entirely. And, as said, the more left-leaning channels partly openly sympathized with ideologies like islam, treating them like a minority that would require their "protection". The answer is simply too: most of the channels were/are based in the US, where there is no argument, that the xstian-fanatics pose the bigger problem when it comes to culture, education, science, social lifestyle, etc. Different for us Europeans, where xstianity to a large extent has become more of a folklore, with a very minimal impact - and the more pressing issues being islamisation, (lack of) integration and incompatibilities to western culture and values, etc.
But that's just my two cent and this is tl/dr anyway...

Yes, please do so! I love your efforts. On the topic of Islam, you could consider doing a collaboration with the channel Apostate Prophet. He is a great guy who constantly warns the people about the evils of Islam.
@@AgatanFnd It's definitely always interesting to hear more opinions on the development and current state of Atheism on RUclips and on general. I also "second the notion" of a video of Sufism and Atheists, considering I know preciously little about them, even though I spent a good part of my childhood in muslim countries (among them in Libya). Yet all I know is that they're more into mysticism, what we call "the dancing Dervishes" and that they drink alcohol. However, to my knowledge, the price of "hippies of islam" would probably go to the Alevites, which is probably the closest you get to having "atheistic muslims", if it wasn't for the believe in a divine entity.
