I adore you for putting “it isn’t cool how I talked to myself” or similar over your real reaction where you called yourself stupid. Cos yeah, we do that, and yeah it isn’t cool, & you showing that teaches me so much better that a “speak kindly to yourself” poster or whatever. (Though those are awesome too & they help too). I just love your realness, thank you!
I, personally am worse, lol. Spent a lot of time alone the last couple of years, due to my own issues lol. I've really noticed that the talking to myself and calling myself stupid, moron, idiot, ect lol has become a regular occurrence. Nvm yelling at inadiment objects, ie TV, YT, ect lol
"someone needs to be doing spooky uterus designs" Me thinking back to an intense and unapologetically gory and glittery uterus drawing I did a few weeks before my hysterectomy (Endomitosis, baby!)
I was not expecting you to be so… Real? I just adore you kept in the struggle of a broken sculpt, your reaction, your pep talk, all of it. I really needed it. Now I’ll be noting the supplies you used, and the methods you used to decompress and stay motivated!!
Our ceilings in the UK commonly have the decor you pictured at the beginning of the video around our ceiling lights and corners of the ceiling called coving. X I found your channel by shorts of worry warts pop up mid anxiety attack , I adore your art. X
Coming from someone who used to do paper mache and plaster casting, my mom and I would always add Elmer's glue to the water so the end plaster was more flexible and crack resistant.
As a fellow Victorian spooky lovin'creative soul and mould maker I understand the nightmare of losing your original casting piece 😭 BuUuUuUt what I do is use the first casting as the second mould form by changing and perfecting the piece, until I'm happy and then I will create the actual mould!!! But as far as plaster goes I use a one to one to one of Durham's water putty, plaster of Paris and fast stone casting powder! But I love using my broken castings in my pieces or use them to create builder moulds, as in moulds I can use to customize and bring elements of the original casting into accent pieces so instead of the piece being 12 in I can get it to what ever size I want outwards!!! Lol Also a great way to get rid of the bubbles is.....🤦......a mini pocket panty rocket with remote control!!!! 🤣😂🤣That way you can vibrate the moulds without dropping it onto the table just place it under the board your moulds are resting on and flip the switch ☺️ because they are a heck of a lot cheaper than anything "professional"and they are sold EVERYWHERE!!! Good lord I'm sorry for the ridiculously LoOoOonG comment but I adore BAT'S, RAVEN'S and SLOTHS💗 but for some reason, I never thought about turning them into glorious victorian architectural element's!!! Most people's brains see them as Halloween decorations, but I have ravens and a bat out year round!!! BuUuUuUt AnYwAyS I love THIS and I am going to start on my own wee bat piece and when I'm done, I'll be tagging the heck out of you, along with your video, giving you 100% of the inspirational credit, lol because THIS creative soul, is going nuts right now, so I'm going to start mapping out the pieces and I can't wait to see how it turns out!!!! EeEeEeEeEeK I'm SoOoOoOoO FRIKKIN excited and YES she'll be named after YOU!!! My page is called "The Gothic Farmhouse" ⚜️ on Facebook and thegothicfarmhouse1 on Instagram annnnnd I haven't posted anything in awhile because my life has been CrAzY🙃 but now I will have the time to create more and I just know😏 that the soon to be newest member 🦇 of my Gothic Farmhouse family, is going to fit right in! I love working with pclay too so I can ‘save’ it lol. Wish I could ‘undo’ as well 😅 this guy is amazing. Pretty much how they did it for Victorian art, however they used clay as their medium….❤️🇦🇺
“Shoutout to neurodivergent girls who need 3 drinks at all times” Thank you I feel so seen 😂 Also wonderful and inspiring job! So glad you stuck through the process, lil guy looked great in the end ❤
Awesome! I agree that the vaguely uterine shape just adds an extra layer to the awesome. Not exactly spooky, but I did design and embroider myself a uterus that my friend has named The Kramper, with evil eye-centred flowers for ovaries, the Fallopian tubes are holding knives, and it looks like it is angrily vomiting menstrual blood. It is an homage to endometriosis and how sucktastic it is. It pleases me greatly.
I am an absolute fan, literally binge watching all day. This moment right here is so so real! And IDK but I'm so proud of you! I can't tell you how many breakdowns I have had! KUDOS! APPLAUSE!!
It turned out awesome! You are so talented at sculpting. Also good for you for continuing to try to make plaster work for you and not giving up on the project or your abilities. I find it SO discouraging when my projects don't go "well" and am wayyy too hard on myself, it can really take the joy out of creating. I am slowly getting better at being kinder to myself, also at just being more fair and realistic. It is hard work, but we are worth the effort!
8:18 I felt this moment so deep my eyes started watering. Hearing someone else say that really brought some warmth to my heart. In the words of Stitch "...It's little and broken but still good. Yeah, still good."
I love them!!!!😍😍🥰🥰🥰 they’re so perfect! It’s so cool that you decided to figure out how to do this yourself. It’s hard when it’s something that seems to have died out so major kudos to you for persevering and figuring it out!! Well done!!
This is the project that made me fall in love with your work.🥰 Do you sell casts of this? I adore your commitment to learning from your mistakes and trying to remain positive.
I LOVE your bat! Your creativity and quality of work is wonderful. We all have learning moments in the process & I love that you share that. It helps us all feel more confident. And your creativity is inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
I believe that like today's plaster artists, they probably carved wet / semi wet plaster. Then detailing / cleaning up the piece after it's completely dry... Sandpaper(s) chisels knives???? At least that's what I tend to see on YT and YT shorts lol
Sorry it’s been a bit! My husband is waiting to get surgery on his gallbladder so I’ve been focused on caring for him but it means so much that someone notices when I make new stuff!!❤❤❤
@@caryscuttlefish oh no 🥺 I hope his surgery goes well and take all the time you need for him and even for yourself! Love whenever you post at all so wether it’s now or later I will still be here loving your content 💕
Really happy to see you using gloves while working with polymer clay. This is a great video and has inspired me to start designing the celestial themed details I've always wanted in my bedroom. Edit: Also I always assume my Master will die when I cast it for molding. It sucks but I just dont keep my hopes up it will survive.
I cannot wait to own my own home and be able to do all those fun and beautiful things to my home😏 it looks amazing! I'm so happy for you& sorry about your little struggle but it looks amazing!!!!✌🏻🤟🏻🤙🏻🪄
I know how to do sculpted plaster work my Dad did historical restoration painting and plaster work more so than the fine stuff then just slapping plaster on walls. I learned how to sculpt plaster It's not that far off from what you did really.
I love your work! and those bats are just perfect. I was worried for a bit that you'd paint them rainbow colors, lol. That would have worked out well for you art studio but they are perfect where you put them. Not that you need my approval, lol.
You should have 1 billion subscribers like you’re such a RUclipsrs I love your videos hope your RUclips channel goes well and I hope you have a very good life❤😊🎉

There’s this wonderful magical place called a library and there they have librarians that help you find books on anything and everything you could possibly want to learn.
I had a thought when watching the part of painting the plasters. It might be easier to pour the paint into a pan and dip them in one side. Once dried, dip the other. Use a detailed brush to clean up where you were holding it and and spots that need attention or were missed. That way you can do several in quick succession.
🦇 Oh My Goddess!!!! The results were spectacular!! I really am glad I found your channel. I appreciate the way you walked us through the whole process (including your emotions) You are a talented artist and a lovely person. Thank you for sharing yourself and your work with us. 🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡
Recreating lost and forgotten plaster in a New York mansion- from the mind of Christine McConnell. That's a video of someone doing. I'm pretty sure the same thing but if not it's very close if that helps
Plaster molds were used for making decorative pieces for buildings. There is lots of information about plaster online and in the library. I used to work in a museum. I got to restore old Victorian plaster molds for decor. They have the artist signature on each mold and a number for recording them. They also sculpted parts by hand. Some artists used plaster blocks molded from the plaster and used chisel and hammer to sculpt large sculptures like you see in France.
thank you so much and really apreciate you showing your amazin content with us and you encourage me everytime i watch one of your vidios and it encourages me to use my own diagnosed nuerodivergency to my advantage ant attemt to limit my on unkind self speech xx
Q/A plz? Also I am 10 and like too scoop but I don't know where to get polimr clay!😅😀 Also you need to know to never give up no matter how hard it is and I will always sport you!😁😀😘😇
IF you use screws without "modeled screw holes" will that crack the plaster? Is this something you could clear up with the "broken" pieces from this project? Looooovvve the video, cats, you... Subscribed!!!!
Halfway thru n dont know if you figured out that you add the plaster to water not water to plaster. You slow add your plaster little at a time to water with out stirring till all plaster has been absorbed. . No stirring Cuz stirring activates the setting process.
I have a question because you put that blue stuff on it. Like that, but do you still keep the inside of it? Or you're just like the river decorating without just wondering. Gloves aren't needed as the poly clay is non toxic but getting it off your hands is a pain unless you keep pumice soap on hand
@@emilymulcahyi lost my pumice soap lol originally i wrote soup instead of soap
@@Helpful_Art_Tips I find a green kitchen scrubbies works in a pinch, also start with oil, break down the clay, then soap, it helps
Would love to see more renovation videos cause I love your style
Came from the short. Didn't expect this emotional rollercoaster ride. Still amazing!
Clicked all the buttons because this is so fun! Also came here from the short.
