Hey Ben i need your knowledgeable help! I've got an insta360 one x and have been using it with matterport for virtual tours. After watching your software comparison video im trying to test out the 3dvista 30 day trial to see if i like it more. I'm trying to use your bracketing advice from this video to take 5 360* images of a room, and then merge them with CameraRaw and then use that final image as my photo for the 3dVista tour room image. However that merged file is a .dng file, and the insta360 Studio App wont allow me to upload it to turn it into a panorama before importing to 3dvirtual. I've tried changing it to a Jpeg and then importing the image into insta360 studio, however it then says the file is corupt. Am i doing it wrong? Would love some help please!
hi, I am new at this, ut how you make the sphere shape panorama on the left screen into a flat panorama in your video preview( 7'22" , merge to HDR)...Thank you for help
Great video, what to you use to stitch the RAW files, do you use software that came with the camera? I have not found anything that can stitch my Garmin Virb raw files successfully so have been using bracketed jpgs which is ok but i'm sure there is more range if i could use the RAW settings. Any suggestions?
Ben Claremont Thanks for the reply Ben. Yes there is desktop software which I have, however it only stitches RAW videos and not photos for some strange reason. I’ve never found a successful solution to stitch raw photos, I’ve tried Hugin but not had good results. Considering upgrading to the qoocam 8k but there seems to be mixed reviews, and I cannot stretch to the Ricoh z1, what else is good for photos around the £500 mark?
Mr. Ben. Hi I know this video has been out quite a while, but I’m hoping you have a solution for issues when shooting Bracketed DNG using Insta360 OneX2. The issue I keep getting is stacking raw files creates very noticeable seam lines throughout the image. Each raw DNG has shows major chromatic errors or a distinct lines around all the stitch lines. When insta 360 Studio 2022 merges the dng it’s awful. If I shoot the same stacked HDR using JPG the stitching eliminates this error but then I loose the edit capability as it’s a baked image. So.. have you ran across this, and if so any suggestions for a HDR bracketed DNG workflow? Thanks.
What is the price of the pro course and what to do when people/company’s hesitate let create a tour because of security (cameras, sensors and stuff like that)?
Hey Stephan, you can find a price list in the link in the description.. and you can edit sensitive material out of your shots. If it’s that sensitive then you probably shouldn’t shoot there to begin with. Otherwise it’s pretty easy to remove stuff. All is covered in the course 👍
Amazing information mate, I actually started to think about doing virtual tours for money, but in Brisbane real estate agents are very 'old school' and hard to engage in this! I will also try the bracketing thing. Quick question: my camera can shoot in raw (DNG files) but I have to ask - what is the benefit of it? how exactly technically does it give you better dynamic range to work with?
Hi! You do not show in the video how to export the HDR after merging the photos in Adobe Camera Raw. I am using the Insta360 OneX2. After merging the images, I try to export the .dng file from Adobe Camera Raw and when trying to open it in Insta360 Studio, it says that the file is not compatible. How to skitch HDR after merging images? I couldn't do it inside Adobe Camera Raw. Where and how do I do this last step?
Hey Ben I did exactly what you did with a well lit room but seem to be getting so much noise in the image, I’m using the Theta Z1 ISO 80 f5.6 and a range of shutter speeds for exposure. Any ideas ?
Hi guys, I had the same noisy issue too after merging the HDR shots, do you think it is due to we use shutter speeds for different exposure shots as both iso and aperture were same thru out the bracketing shots... or should we adjust by the Ev instead of the shutter speed? Just not sure what was causing the noise ....
How do you stitch the HDR? If I use the Ricoh Theta Stitcher with the HDR image, It shows a completely distorted image. If I do this with a regular Raw image, than all works fine I presume you just right-click after you have merged the HDR and stitch it with the Ricoh Theta stitcher? Any help?

Hi Ben. I'm shooting with an Insta 360 One X. When I bring my 360 images into Photoshop they appear as 2 round images instead of the pano view like yours. Is this due to a setting on the camera or a setting in photoshop? How can I correct this?
OK, I found that if I bring in the 3060 image into the Insta360 Studio and then save it I can open it in Photoshop as a pano. Wish there was a way to skip that step so if you are aware of a way to open it directly into Photoshop please share. Thanks!
Hi Ben, would love to know how you edit your pictures!
Hey- you can see my full workflow inside the VTP course :)
Hey Ben, I am using the trick you did by manually taking 3-5 exposures in RAW mode and stitching them after. I am getting an error saying that my pictures are not a certain size when I try to stitch the merged photo... I thought it was one of my dual fisheyes that was causing the problem, but I was able to stitch all f them perfectly fine. It was only encountered when I tried stitching the merged HDR photo. Please Let me know of as soon as you can.
Excelent tutorial Ben, very helpful as always...! 🙂

good morning, unfortunately i can't find the hdr selection on my theta z1. did you give me a tip why I can not select the hdr function in the automatic? greetings chris
Hey- it’s called HDR rendering, found in the shooting settings
Sucks I missed the chance to get your course for free!
Would love some help please!
well done great instruction stay safe
Thanks Bene
That was a Super tip ....thnx
hi, I am new at this, ut how you make the sphere shape panorama on the left screen into a flat panorama in your video preview( 7'22" , merge to HDR)...Thank you for help
Great video, what to you use to stitch the RAW files, do you use software that came with the camera? I have not found anything that can stitch my Garmin Virb raw files successfully so have been using bracketed jpgs which is ok but i'm sure there is more range if i could use the RAW settings. Any suggestions?
Thanks- there’s desktop software for the VIRB, pretty sure it’s still on the Garmin website :)
How do you get rid of the light on the dark window frames. In your final shot they are still there.
Mr. Thanks.
Hi Rick, One X2 shots don’t need to be merged manually since it does it automatically in the stitching software. Safe yourself time and hassle 😉
Thanks Guy- Raw files capture much more information than a jpg, so when it comes to colour correction you can recover highlights, shadows etc. better
With software you use.to retouch the tripon?
TouchRetouch or photoshop
Qoocam does all this automatically using adobe dng. Correct?
thank you for this video 🙏
Pleasure
You are the master thank you for another great video!!

Hey Ben I did exactly what you did with a well lit room but seem to be getting so much noise in the image, I’m using the Theta Z1 ISO 80 f5.6 and a range of shutter speeds for exposure. Any ideas ?
Are you sure it’s noise and not something else? Hard for me to tell without seeing it
Hi guys, I had the same noisy issue too after merging the HDR shots, do you think it is due to we use shutter speeds for different exposure shots as both iso and aperture were same thru out the bracketing shots... or should we adjust by the Ev instead of the shutter speed? Just not sure what was causing the noise ....
Useful content😍
There an app for merge photo on adroid?
Great. Thanks
How do you stitch the HDR?
If I use the Ricoh Theta Stitcher with the HDR image, It shows a completely distorted image.
If I do this with a regular Raw image, than all works fine
I presume you just right-click after you have merged the HDR and stitch it with the Ricoh Theta stitcher?
Any help?
Save as a jpg after you merge in PS, then import to Ricoh stitcher
Are you still using this bracketing method or is it better to just use Dual Fisheye's HDRDNG 9?
Dual Fisheye :)
Ben Claremont thank you kind sir. I’ve learned a lot from you and still am!
I must say i really like your virtual tour pro course Ben! Its definitely worth the money! I recognize a lot of what you are saying and showing but i am also learning a lot. If people want to learn how to make good virtual tours they should watch your course. Its awsome.
Thanks Chris! Super glad you’re getting value from it 👊🏻
