I so love Harry!!! Very calm! You could hardly sense any forms of complaints from him. He calms my soul!
❤❤❤
I think this is the first channel that I’ve seen really immersing themselves into Filipino culture. Really, really enjoy your vlogs btw.
Thankyou for watching our journey, glad your are enjoying them. We try to embrace the 🇵🇭 way as much as we can 🧡
Cemeteries also have checkpoints during Undas due to the volume of people. Weapons and alcoholic drinks aren't allowed during Undas to avoid crimes and troubles. Years ago, it was ok to bring those things but there were number of incidents of trouble igniting and some resulted to deaths. If you want to clean the graves then clean it days before Nov 1.
Thank you for that info! 🧡
What I really love about this family and their uploads is that they made me realize that there are Filipino things that we do, that as time goes by, we somehow get used to them and these things become boring.
We just go, offer some candles and meet up with the family. But if we really deeply think about it, it's somehow a day of reunion and the dead we dwelled would be happy to see their children and grandchildren getting along all so well.
♥️
It’s has been a great experience and you have many lovely traditions here in 🇵🇭 thankyou for watching and being a part of our bigger family
So cute Harry eating the local fruits we call it rambutan… nice bonding playing with cards including kids and delicious pure foods/magnolia brand cheesy hotdogs for them.. another great video you represent to us..
It was a great day and yes harry loves trying the local fruits
One thing that I really love about this vlog, about this family , they are not afraid to do something beyond their comfort zone, they really immersed themselves on the culture and tradition of Filipinos in general. I hope that you'll be celebrating Christmas and immersed yourself with the 9 days early morning masses starting 16th to 24th of December, and the christmas delicacies ( glutinous rice , cassava, etc) ...Bravo! Kudos!
Hey we are planning to yes, so fingers crossed we get to see that too 🧡
@@wistlfamilyadventures wow youre extending your stay? there’s a tradition in the 9 days early morning masses that if you complete the nine day, make a wish and it will come trueee.
@@fanboyxx5967 wow we will have to see if it works! 😊
Every year there's "art in the park" in makati. It features up and coming artists + some established ones. Try and talk to the galleries participating or the organizers on how to make your artwork promoted and sold in the event. Go check it out and hoping we could see some of your works in the future. Good luck.
That would be cool! All my art is back at home currently, so maybe if I get time to do some painting properly I could give it a go 🧡
@@wistlfamilyadventures I think I'm only seeing a glimpse of what you can do artistically so I'm egging you to go for itand make a dent in the manila art scene. since you're based in makati, there's a lot of art galleries next to you. Talk to them and ask if you could somehow showcase a piece or two in one of their future group exhibits (a common thing here). Ask if your medium is acceptable and how should it be presented (framed, minimum size, etc). Then do what you do best. I'll be a fan all the way if you try and pursue this. Best of luck.
Love your family, such a loving sweet children and nice to hear them speak a little tagalog.hope you do more vlogs everyday coz i really enjoy it.we filipinos support you.😄😍
Thank you so much 🧡
Well done. Keep safe.
Thank you so much 😊
The Ayala Triangle Garden was the site of the old International Airport of Manila. Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas were the runways. The old terminal is now a restaurant.
Wow that’s so cool!
FYI The Ayala Group will be lighting the Christmas Celebratuon of Lights at Ayala Triangle Garden on November 10, 2022 it will last until January 8, 2023 it was susoended during 2020 to 2021 pandemic and they will open this November 10, 2022 its free so bring the whole family, start at night time.
We will be there! We went to the ceremonial lighting yesterday 😊
The queue to get in is to check for any weapons or prohibited items such as lighters. They only allow matchsticks inside. It's also a must to present each person's covid vaccination card. So, to answer your question, yes, you will be allowed inside with or without a dead buried.
Ah thank you for that information 😊
November 1 is all saint’s day and November 2 is where people are really celebrating and more busier than the November 1st . November 2 is called ‘Undas’ meaning all soul’s day….😊

All Souls Day and All Saints Day have become a family celebration for both the living and the dead for us Filipinos. Family get together to clean up their family tombstones or family lots at cemeteries, most times people even camp over night between the 1st and 2nd of November.
Manila South Cemetery is located in the City of Makati but it is owned operated by the City of Manila.
Not to get confused, Metro Manila is composed of 16 different cities including the main capital, Manila City.
Manila South Cemetery is adjacent to other cemeteries called Makati Catholic Cemetery and Islamic Cemetery of Manila.
Manila South Cemetery is an example of a heavily dense or overly crowded public burial sites in the country. It is so crowded that on some areas coffins are stocked up on multiple levels that local people coins this type of system as “condominiums”. It is already impossible for you to buy a lot in this rundown cemetery that’s why people lease a “condominiums spot” for a certain number of years before bones are either collected back by family members or for the abandoned ones, be thrown away.
Manila South Cemetery is one of the first burial sites in Manila that is why there are some notable dead Filipinos buried at the site, including local celebrities and former Presidents. They can be found at the better managed and nicer area of Manila South Cemetery.
Over the years newer and more exclusive cemeteries were developed in the Metro. Manila Heritage Park (Near BGC), Loyola Cemetery (located in Paranaque City), and Manila Memorial Park (also in Paranaque) are the private cemeteries where most middle to higher income families go. These cemeteries are similar to the cemeteries you can find in developed countries as there are more greener spaces, well-planned and maintained hence more expensive. However, the festive celebration of families gathering remains the same. These are the cemeteries where it is more comfortable to camp overnight.
Mausoleum are free standing family-owned and built structures intended to bury family members in one big lot. It is common to find mausoleums in every cemetery in the country, whether at rundown cemetery like the Manila South Cemetery or the fancier ones like the one near BGC called Heritage Park.
Not to get confused, there is an American Cemetery near BGC where the American and Filipino Soldiers who died during World War II are located.
Lastly, while each city or municipality has their own city-owned cemetery, the Manila South Cemetery (located in Makati but owned by Manila), the Manila North Cemetery and the Manila Chinese Cemetery are some of the biggest and heavily crowded cemeteries in the country.
Nice to see the kids eating local foods and fruits, looks like they are adapting well to the environment of a bit of chaos and fun at the same time. Enjoy, it is more fun in the Philippines.....
Thankyou and it is more fun in the Philippines 🇵🇭
Great that you try to experience one of our very important traditions! Very educational for the kids too!
Yes they loved it! 😊
At ordinary cementery, you can usually see Filipino families happily celebrating a reunion at the grave of their loved one. They bring food and others secretly bring liquor and a sound system.
The rule was not strict during our time, but when there were many people doing that, the police officers became strict.
Thank you for that information 🧡
Really nice to see your family get involved in our culture :) By the way they don't check if you have someone buried in the cemetery before you enter. It is just a protocol for big cemeteries to check the belongings because some items are not allowed inside like alcoholic beverages, sharp objects, etc, for safety purposes hence the long line in the entrance. :)
Thankyou for letting us know , we think it is important to get involved with the country culture as much as we can
I love the way Elowyn says paalam! 😊
Haha she has to say it every time 😅
A tip. When shopping on street vendors, flowers, clothings, etc., do not hesitate to ask for discount. They'll always give you the best price. Because if you don't, they'll always think it is just okay dor you guys. Say "tawad"? Which means discount?😘
Next time when you visit a Philippine cemeteries if you have a Filipino family friends, you may join them so you can have a real experience of what is like during All Saints and All Souls day.
Some Filipinos before the day/reunion fun starts they clean the cemetery, light a candle, offer flowers and say some prayers like Holy Rosary for the dead. They just have chat and talk about happy memories of their love ones.
Meanwhile in Filipino Chinese communities burn papers and incense and offer flowers and foods for the dead.
Thankyou for the info
Congratulations 🎊 road to 7k now. Your vlog is my entertainment everyday. ❤ May God guide us all always to the right path. Ameen.

Thank you so much! Yes our little family here is growing - it’s amazing to see ☺️
try also visiting these cemeteries:
1. Libingan ng mga Bayani (in English - cemetery of heroEs ) . This is where a lot of PH presidents and soldiers are buried. Every Nov 1, they put mini Philippine flags on all the crosses.
“I do not know the dignity of his birth, but I do know the glory of his death.” - This message from General Douglas MacArthur that is engraved in black stone walls is the first thing that greets anyone upon entering the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
2. Manila American Cemetery - where 16,000+ servicemen who lost their lives in WW2 are buried.
Both are in Fort Bonifacio/BGC area.
We have seen a few other vloggers have been to the American cemetery
it will be a different sort of vibe depending on the cemetery but since that a more of a public cemetery like that it will be really chaotic..
It was a great experience and glad we saw what we did 🙏
@@wistlfamilyadventures yes very nice to see.. 😊 jst always take care and be safe 😊❤️❤️
Hello 👋 kamusta na kayo nice familia❤️👍 just new here 😊
Thank you we are well - welcome 👋
Big thanks for sharing your thoughts on this national holiday. The Manila South Cemetery, as well as the Manila North Cemetery in the City of Manila, are considered to be the most populated cemeteries in the metro. Famous and ordinary people are buried there. It is considered the time of the year when family reunions happen aside from the other festivities year-round. That's why the mood is festive. As for entering the premises, I don't think one has to have a relative buried inside. The line at the entrance is for the authorities to inspect if people brought items that are not allowed. I believe they posted the list of dos and donts at the entrance. Try visiting the place during ordinary days. Also, there are other "high-end" cemeteries around the metro that you can also visit.
Thankyou for clarification
Hi lovely family I enjoyed watching your video. Being a Catholic All Saints and All Souls Day is big celebration in the Philippines.
It is! There were so many people 🧡

The Heritage cemetery in Taguig nearby BGC is quite not crowded as compared to other cemetery wherein the wealthy family buried there.
That is interesting Thankyou
hello, everyone is welcome inside, the tables are for them to check your bags for weapons, i went also, lots of vendors, food, people looking for jobs to gold paint the stones, others to clean and mostly is just spending time with you loved ones.
Thank you yes we know now for next time! 😅
Good day guys.
Thank you 🙏
My son went on his own on November 1st to take 100 photos needed for a school activity. He was not asked if he had anyone to visit. But if ordinary days there is an assigned guard who asks questions. Only November 1, LGU officers are assigned for peace and order.
I bet he captured great content for his activity 📸
yeah it's really surprising how we celebrate All Saints Day but things are different from place to place. Some are solemn and some are just like what you have experienced. ❤️
Coz it's a public cemetery. Ours is private and at the back of ours is also a public cemetery in d suburbs here so even us can hear how more chaotic it is on the other side.
It is fascinating hearing everyones different experiences
Love this family...hope u will meet "Eight miles from home" .

You’re a great artist!!
Thank you so much 😊
This is so interesting… it’s rare to see foreigners in cemetery.
Thank you 🙏
We wanted to bring something new , it was a great experience 🙏
Obviously because they dont have anyone buried in the Philippines.
Lots of food stalls and festive. It’s also family reunion since relatives meet at the tombs.
You can go inside.. they just let people without asking. However, if someone does not recall the exact location of the tomb, there is an information desk at the gate where you can ask for it from the computer.
10:06 no, no need to tell people that you have someone buried inside. Because people from the province who can’t go home, they can just light a candle in the so-called “BIG CROSS” for their love ones who’s not in that cemetery.
Securities only check your belongings if you’re carrying sharp objects and sound system like big box, they won’t allow it to carry inside.
Thankyou for letting us know
before pandemic many people stay in cemetery until morning

☂ You know what, there are 2 things about the weather that almost always happens (and this I learned from my grandmother from childhood and not too many Filipinos even know about or notice) is to expect rain on Nov 1st and the sun to burn and heat at its extreme on Good Friday.
_Flowers_ - Keep in mind, too, that prices of flowers 💐 are bumped up on 2 occasions: on or before Valentine's Day and Nov 1st.
Festive? - You may have expected and noticed that the atmosphere on Nov 1st is more celebratory 🎊than quiet or solemn, and that's how it just evolved ü - the mourning is during burial; the quieter "Nov 1, 2" moments actually done days before Nov 1 when many families visit the graves to avoid the surge of people on the 1st which rather quickly becomes a communal gathering as you experienced. The celebration had become so feast-like and noisy since decades past, like a picnic in the park, so much so that the government banned liquor, portable sound systems (yes), baskets of food into cemeteries public (and private) to restore peace and semblance of solemnity =D The Manila South and North Cemeteries are public, North 2x as large as South.
🍦 _Dirty Ice Cream_ - Many foreigners wonder about this ü
It simply means the unbranded, non-commercial lot like what you had in Baguio. The term came from a rather unpleasant origin: the snobbery of the upper classes who could afford the branded (and now, imported) ice cream in groceries or ice cream houses that lower-income Filipino couldn't afford. However, there was some basis for calling these "dirty" because many decades ago, the handling and selling really weren't as standardized as when basic food serving standards were implemented: in manufacturing and selling-cones stacked exposed to the elements in some (they're now all enclosed) and even having napkins around these (that would have added to the cost before-trade liberization has its benefits for sure) ;)
Thankyou for your in-depth explanation, it is great to understand the history behind everything 🙏
8:25 it’s not a normal rate nor tourist rate but a holiday rate for All Saints’ Day/All Souls’ Day rate.
Yes many subs have told us now 😊
@@wistlfamilyadventures another similar rate would be Valentines Day
Hi there! You have a beautiful family. 😀
Thank you so much 😊
In d 80’s we go to cemetery it was celebrated with prayers for our dearly departed we go to different cemetery to visit our dead. In d 90’s it becomes a reunion in the cemetery with families at the tomb of dearly dead family. In d 2000’s it becomes like a picnic, overnight stays, karaoke, drinking in cemeteries and becomes a business opportunities for many and now its being policed and more of chaotic gathering of people...and it used to be every Mondays is cemetery visits for our departed families and short prayer about 15-30mins visit.
Very interesting Thankyou 🧡
You can go to any cemetery even if you dont have any family buried there just ask or look for the centre cross or the big cross (normally its in the middle) you light your candles there and say a little prayer for your dearly departed.
Hi there, I see you got to go the cemetery this November 1st. And yes it's good that you didn't get to go inside as the cemetery is very crowded and can be overwhelming especially with children. But you can still go there at Nov 2nd as that's the time when it's less crowded. That's some cool art you have there, keep at it as it is very interesting. And don't be discouraged no matter what. As what one friend told me how an artist paints is how he or she sees the world. Just keep on painting 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Traditionaly , relatives visits their departed love ones on both Nov. 1 ( all Saints day ) & Nov 2 ( All souls day ) . The practice is to light a candle , offer flowers , offer traditional rice cakes / other foods like the favorite of departed , traditional bands playing religious songs or old songs AND OFFET PRAYERS FOR THEIR SOULS AND ECPRESSING GRATITUDE .. And on each home , lighted candles , flowers & rice cakes are offered too. Its also an opportunity for a reunion for families , meeting on the grave of grannies / ancestors. So the mood is solemn initially then festive aftetwarf. Its a time to reminisce the life shared by the departed.

Yes we didn’t know , that’s why this community is great as we always get corrected by our Filipino extended family 😅🧡
I forgot to mention, November 1 is one of the most solemn celebrations among Catholics apart from holyweek. All Saith's Day in tagalog we call it "Piesta ng Patay" or Feast of the Dead. Our family cooks a lot of food because it's like a birthday for them. We always have delicious food ready and Biko is the most popular Pinoy food every All Saith's Day. We put food in front of the altar and we hire elders who pray and call our loved ones. After praying we put candles outside the door at night. Anyway, my parents are from Visayas. Visayans are too religious and old fashioned :)
Thankyou po
Super lovely family ❤❤❤

It is one of the most celebrated festivities in the philippines…it is to pay respect to dear departed ones..yeah a bit chaotic for foreigners but this is also a time for family and friends to meet up which is more to celebrate the lives of their dead ones… would have been nice if you had seen the actual happenings but i guess having kids with u will be difficult (they would have let u in had u asked by the way)
We understand now , at the time we didn’t want to be disrespectful as we knew how important the day is to Filipino’s 🙏🇵🇭
@@wistlfamilyadventures u can check dodo explorers (another foreign youtubers)....they went inside the cemetery so you can see how it is there...regarda
@@jasonflores4250 yes we have watched they did a great job
we light most of it on the grave, then we also light candles on the outside of the door of our house so that our dead relatives could symbolically gets to visit their former home for that day. Locally the ice cream is called sorbetes/sorbete.
Thank you that sounds like such a beautiful tradition 🧡
It’s nice to see your videos more dated now, at least when it comes to occasions/events known in the country. Mukbangs and mall visit videos can always be filler videos for later (esp if you begin doing daily videos). It’s too bad you didn’t go inside and see what it’s really like. It’s a public cemetery so I know you can get in unless rules have changed or maybe that’s just a security check. I love going to public (and private) cemeteries for All Saints just to people watch and feel the vibe. It’s like a party.
Yeh we didn’t know. We were trying to be respectful and turns out we could of gone in 😅🧡
I love this family
Salamat Po🧡
Ahh you should've went inside. It will be more chaotic inside even if it's raining. That's the cemetery i go into, but not this yr it was raining and the commute gets harder these days. Hope you had fun just by checking the streets. The flowers tend to be more pricey during this season. But it will be less pricey around march to september or mid october.
Thank you yes we should have! But it was so busy I think we made the best decision 😊
All souls day is basically the dia de los muertos of mexico (same thing). Some visit the cemetery on nov 1 instead of 2, or even earlier, just to avoid the huge crowd and spend nov2 praying & paying respects at home with the rest of the family.
Thank you that’s really interesting 😊🧡
Very orderly at all private cemeteries. There are lots of mausoleum.
We have heard about the mausoleum it’s fascinating
Anyone can enter the cemetery. It's a happier vibe in the provinces, it's also an occasion for relatives & friends to see one another. Those who live in metro manila go home to their respective provinces for the Undas. Oh this is heavy heavy traffic. As Nov 1 nears people go to the graves to clean and paint anew. If the cemeteries are far from home people bring food. People take advantage of the crowd by selling barbecue, sandwiches, pizza, dimsums, etc, and drinks. Children and teens love this occasion. The cemetery is fullest from late afternoon of Nov 1 until night. Btw, the flower you bought was expensive. Flowers' prices go up at this time. Dirty ice-cream, yes it's called, but don't worry, it's not dirty hehe, it's simple, light & home-made, so don't compare to the ones in parlors and supermarkets. :)
Thankyou for letting us know
Hello there beautiful family…what you just witnessed is one of the most important celebration in the Philippines.. next to Holy Week and Christmas…it would seem festive because its all about family. This is the core of the Filipino culture.. Close family ties regardless of religion..but this tradition is actually a christian practise but in the Philippines almost everybody celebrate All souls day and all saints day..regarding dirty ice cream, actually its not dirty..execpt that it is made not in a big factory but smaller shops.which some people regarded it as dirty but its not dirty.hahaha i hope i could have enlighten you in some things that you were asking yourselves about Filipino Traditons..take care always.😇😉 also if i may add,the word dirty ice cream is just a joke..filipinos made fun of those ice cream..should not be taken seriously..😂
Salamat for your help 🧡
All Saints/Souls Day is the time to meet up and reunion for respect with old friends and family in the cemetery - living and the dead.
Thank you yes it’s a beautiful tradition 🧡
All souls day is mix event in ph. Theres a lot going on than a simple visiting your dead relatives grave.
Yes we saw! 😊
in Early Years People were Allowed Staying for 2 days Overnight😉 until Nov.1-Halloween in Cemetery, but it was Change to a DAY since Pandemic starts.😂./
Thankyou for letting us know 🧡
Wow! I'm not an expert in flower prices but I thought 50php is a decent price if not cheap for the flowers you've bought. Also, I don't think the cemetery asks for an identification. The queue is mostly for frisking. Sharp objects, belts, and other stuffs are not allowed inside the cemetery during this holiday.
We only bought a single flower 😊 and thank you yes subs have let us know now that it was only for that reason, but at the time we didn’t know 😅
Family get together
It was so nice 🧡
The flower is a normal rate, no worries. Flowers here in our area ranges P100-1000 during this undas, or this long week end. It's more chaotic where u are coz it's Metro Manila(Makati) but if it's like in the suburbs u'll enjoy it better & go in Oct31 or Nov2. U can go here in ours even if u dont have relatives buried or ashes put there. Its more strict in Manila since they have way more people.
Salamat for the clarification
@@wistlfamilyadventures walang anuman (Welcome in Filo language).
Flowers during this holidays are really double or triple of its original price on normal days, even for us locals. The price of that flower you bought is P20 - 30.00 on regular days.. 😊😊😊.Pricey but still kinda reasonable for a once in a year purchase.😁
Dirty ice cream is called dirty ice cream, not because it is dirty. I dunno why too😁 maybe because it is selling on the street..
Isaw is pronounced as E-sao.
I dont think there is a restriction that you need to prove of having someone buried in the cemetery just to get in. Its impossible for them to check he records.😁😁😁. Its a public cemetery so everyone is free to go in, they were only checking the visitors belongings for safety purposes, and the vacc cards.
Yeh, we didn’t mind - it was so that we could join in in the festivities and give our little girl a flower 🌸 😊
Flowers are expensive on All Saints Day as well as on Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.
Same as the UK the prices rise for Mother’s Day and valentines
What a beautiful😍
Keep it up🎥
Thank you so much 😊
Try to go to alabang, plenty of restaurants to and malls.
Thanks 🙏
Your very much welcome,godbles🥰😄
It's a good thing though that you didn't enter to that particular cemetery because it's actually one of the busiest cemeteries in the whole Metro Manila, always kinda full packed with people and uncomfortably crowded inside. On the other hand, you should have seen the people doing the traditional paying respects to their dead relatives thru leaving on some candles and flowers on the graves. But in general, All Saints/Souls day can be celebrated with the whole family as well, either going to the cemetery/church, or staying at home. Thanks for the video! 🙂
Thank you! Yes we know it would have made for a better experience - but I think we are happy we decided not to 😊
At least you've experienced Filipino Tradition...
Yeh it was a great day and so cool to see 😊
They are called dirty ice cream 🍦 because back in the days our parents didn't want us to be buying street food (they think street foods are dirty). Thank you for trying to know & understand the Filipino tradition...the guards & tables at the gate are making sure security is observed and for those who don't remember where their dead families are buried, they can verify with the people by the gate. Don't think you need to have a buried family inside to get inside the cemetery but why would you be in there if not to visit & celebrate your loved ones who passed away? Thank you for the respect and tolerance of the Filipino ways & activities...Enjoy your vacay & stay safe always!!! Cheerios!!!
Thankyou for clarifying these things and yes we didn’t go in out of respect 🧡
