I absolutely love this!! OMYGOD I've been saying "I" want you all to be happy" to my three sons, now adults as well as, saying I wanted them to be "mentally" fine for years!! I believe this has alot to do with learning that both "anxiety and depression" run in my family and that was always my fear for them... Talk about an AHA moment!!
Thank you both so much for sharing Dr. Shefali and MedCircle, I loved learning this and changing my conversations with them right away!!❤🙏🏼🙏🏼ç

I'll be 60 this year and at 50 years old, and after learning about my past and going on a journey to heal from my past and codependency, I had to tell my mother that "I" accept myself for the good, kindhearted and decent person I am, flaws and all, that I no longer needed her approval or her validation because "I" validate myself, and that if she can't accept me than I can live with that!! That felt like she no longer had control over my self-worth and emotions!!
She just stood quiet as if in shock but I had to say that in order to move forward in peace knowing that I matter!! I'm still working on my "perfectionism" issue but it was so FREEING saying this to her knowing that I forgave myself for what I didn't know back then and still, turned out ok!!💕🙏🏼

I love this topic, albeit I have no desire and capability to be a parent myself. Thank you.

Excellent interview! With today’s divorced parents and shared parenting comes along conscious parenting post separation and an entire new set of skills. One parents externally, another parents intrinsically. Guess who wins? It’s really sad.

First of all. # 1 Raise a child up the way they should go. Biblically. Your child learning authority and discipline is good.

I am 49 & finally on the road to recovery & being a more conscious parent for my adult children. Self introspection is the key & I am here to tell you, "It's never too late." 🫂
