  • The ONE THING that makes us hesitate booking a cruise with MSC cruise line is the dining situation.
The dining is fixed - the dining time - the table size - and the choice of restaurant.
The only time you have choices is if you are a suite guest (too expensive for us) or if you choose the Aurea experience.
With Aurea experience you can dine in the ships only anytime dining room - Les Dunes - and have full flexibility of dining time and table size. The Aurea experience costs extra (which we feel would be worth it but it has never been available for us on booking our cruise)
Nearly all other cruise lines offer anytime dining.
We arrived at our assigned dining room (shown on the cruise card) La Foglia restaurant and noticed we had been assigned the early sitting and our table number was 318! We couldn't resist having a peek before dinner. We were surprised to see it was actually a table for two .. but WAIT! before you get too excited.. I have to tell you that our table for two was in fact only an inch away from it's neighbour which was in turn was also an inch away from it's neighbour ... so effectively a table for six!!
We tried it once on the first night but then ended up in the buffet (an inferior evening dining experience) for the rest of the cruise
So C'MON MSC get with the times .. anytime dining please !! #cruiseshipdining #cruiseexperience #worldeuropa
