Just a quick silly question but when you are bottlenecking on the CPU aren't you just testing processor cash capability and shouldn't you be looking for results just below the bottlenecking to get correct frame times?
I understand that ddr4 is cheap but in the future and will be cheaper by not replacing the motherboard when getting the new CPUs while with Intel. If you want to get the 15th gen you will have to get the ddr5 and a new motherboar.
Keep in mind, unlike the 13400 the 7600 can be overclocked if you want near 7600x performance. I have this weird feeling that the current BIOS releases for these "new" non k cpus are broken somehow as well. I've been seeing the 13400 losing to the 12400 in more than 1 case throughout multiple videos which makes no sense. How is a newer part with +4 e cores, more l2 cache and higher clocks losing to its older sibling? Computers are stupid. Or maybe it's the people coding things *cough* microsoft *cough* msi and gigabyte who have spelling errors in the BIOS *FUCKING COUGH*. How am I supposed to have peace of mind that my BIOS is coded properly if you cant even read a translated word, which is probably on a piece of paper in front of you and copy it to the bios without making spelling errors?
I won't consider these as budget options for as long as DDR5 boards remain expensive. I guess you could go with a DDR4 motherboard and I5 13400F if you absolutely need to have the latest CPU for some reason. I still thnik that a better budget option for now is last gen Ryzen 5 or I5 with a B550/B560 motherboard.
@@jonathanoxlade4252 yeah, you practically wouldn't notice any difference in games between 32GB DDR4 or DDR5 and it's so much cheaper. It's been 2 months since I wrote the first comment and DDR5 prices still didn't change that much.
Budget? A motherboard, 7600 CPU, 16gb RAM and a cooler is almost as expensive as my whole current PC with a Ryzen 3600, 16gb ram, 1tb ssd and 5600xt gpu... So what would the whole PC be? 1500euros and more? Maybe in 2years with the new platform Budget builds might be possible.
yeah its a little bit more expensive but like u said u get 5 year upgrade path plus oc support for those who want that stuff. essentially u will save money on the future so spend those money right now to be safe later.
Motherboard and ram producers said that they want a piece of cake. With games being less and less fun, plus greed causing hardware and game prices ( pay 2 win) to rise we may see pc gaming market shrink pretty soon.
What happened to letting us know which gpus would pair well with each cpu? Nobody is buying a 4090 to pair with a 13400f bro. Came here for some good budget comparison and review. Should have gone with a more believable test setup like a 3060 or 6650xt and a control of 16 gigs of ram. I really feel like you missed the mark when it some to decent budget cpus.
@@redpill2634 why? A 3070 is 500 minimum and I don't care about Ray tracing? There's literally no better frames per price out there right now. Am5 is only costing me 200 extra at this stage anyway, and that's on overpriced mini itx parts.

Hi! I enjoy your content :) thanks for that! What do you think about swapping 7600(non x)+extra cooler with 7700+box cooler? What about price/performance, bottlenecking 4070ti/4080, temperatures and noise levels? :) Edit - for a brand new build obvi :)
Why would I need to upgrade CPU if I'm getting the performance I want out of my GPU? If my newer games start dropping past a certain FPS then yes, I would upgrade my CPU. I think bottleneck is overstated, but I get the point. You can get more performance. I'm good with 120fps. Yeah, I could have 160, but its not necessary UNLESS I have a 144hz or better monitor. For those people, yes it is a bottleneck. Help me understand why my thinking is dumb. Great video no doubt.
With current pricing neither is worth upgrade or fresh build. You are building a pc which will work for you for years to come. I don't see reason to break a bank. I understand that these channels have to promote consumerism though.
Only reason I'm put off by amd cpus is because since getting my Ryzen 5 5600X I've had random full system crashes, like it black screens and reboots with the event viewer showing the WHEA logger error.
I really want the Ryzen 5 7600, but sadly its motherboard only comes with DDR5 meanwhile DDR5 RAM is still very expensive. I'd go for Ryzen 7000 series only if DDR5 RAM could come out cheaper or its motherboard could still support DDR4. For now, I'd stick to 13400F with DDR4 RAM since I only do gaming, and the gaming performance diff between DDR4 and 5 is not that significant so it's not worth it for me. For a better future-proofing, Ryzen 7000 might be a better choice than Intel. This is just my opinion guys, feel free to share yours as well so that we can share knowledge each other.
You can get extra 10fps when you overclock to 5600 to 6000 mhz ram. 7600 is now the same price as 13400f. Yes ddr5 is expensive but future proof and dont forget 7600 is unlocked. And single thread performance is better

I understand that ddr4 is cheap but in the future and will be cheaper by not replacing the motherboard when getting the new CPUs while with Intel. If you want to get the 15th gen you will have to get the ddr5 and a new motherboar.
"open up the graphics slot" lol
if you're building from scratch, about $1,500, do you still recommend DDR4 and older platforms? or go am5. this is strictly gaming
He would recommend probably the "mid range build" from the following video he did. "The BEST PC Builds RIGHT NOW! 😀 (January/February 2023)
@@daunted2322 good point =) thanks!
ddr 5 only if you will have 6400+ and have card 3080+
That was a great dobby impression. Loved it
I won't consider these as budget options for as long as DDR5 boards remain expensive. I guess you could go with a DDR4 motherboard and I5 13400F if you absolutely need to have the latest CPU for some reason. I still thnik that a better budget option for now is last gen Ryzen 5 or I5 with a B550/B560 motherboard.
I agree with ddr5 being a rip off tho even if some games need 32gb still be cheaper on am4 boards
It’s good to see DDR5 prices coming down. Hopefully we can get some cuts on boards. Gpu’s who knows. I guess my 3060ti will be with me for a while.
Budget and DDR5 cant be put in a single sentence
Motherboard and ram producers said that they want a piece of cake. With games being less and less fun, plus greed causing hardware and game prices ( pay 2 win) to rise we may see pc gaming market shrink pretty soon.
I have 4060ti and i5 13400 f coming will be good for Fortnite?? Can anyone tell me how much fps roughly
i'm going to wait for 13500 to come out in my area and b660 or b760 and ddr4
What happened to letting us know which gpus would pair well with each cpu? Nobody is buying a 4090 to pair with a 13400f bro. Came here for some good budget comparison and review. Should have gone with a more believable test setup like a 3060 or 6650xt and a control of 16 gigs of ram. I really feel like you missed the mark when it some to decent budget cpus.
If you had watched till the end he says most would go with a 3060 Gpu
I already had a 7600x build planned. The 6700xt is £375 right now that's going to be very cost effective for a 1440p rig.
Go for am4 and save more money for better GPU for your 1440p experience.
@@redpill2634 why? A 3070 is 500 minimum and I don't care about Ray tracing? There's literally no better frames per price out there right now. Am5 is only costing me 200 extra at this stage anyway, and that's on overpriced mini itx parts.
@@BuzzaB77 get a 6800 or 6800xt. 6700xt is fine for 1440p but that little push to a 6800 will be nice for consistent 144fps without lowering settings.
@@Shvraz my monitor is free sync 1440p.
6700XT is a beast
Intel i5 13400F vs Intel i5 12600KF please
Test 13400 with ddr5 same kit as Ryzen. You say it’s worth spending more to get more for 7600, but dont bother to do so for the intel setup.
Sub-septa dard not apples to apples.
i5 or i7 is plently cpu power for 4k maxium settings gaming. I9 is just overkill but with the smallest performance advantage.
Nice ! Now if only GPUs would not cost an arm and leg to buy, this would be way better.
What memorie ddr4 you use ? 3600cl16 ?? And work good With no problems??
Hi I'm based UK looking to get a mothjerboard for my 13500. Struggling to find a budget one with bios flashback. Any you suggest?
45 pound CPU cooler? Why is everything so heavy in your country?
can you do a comparrison between the 13400f & 13700f paried with a 4070ti maybe? felling the 4090 was a bit too much.
How the hell were you playing warzone in verdansk ?
In my country i'm getting 10mbps download speed and 0.9 mbps upload speed so be thankful if yours is beginning at 400mbps
Will you be doing the r7 7000 vs i7 13th?
I think the 5600G is the deal for £100 on amazon
I have a 3080 paired with a i5-11600kf. I want to upgrade to a i5-13600k for its amazing price or performance ratio. I mostly play games at 4K on my Sony TV and my 3080 is pretty much always maxed out. Would I benefit from the upgrade?
@@Shiddaruto I was planning on buying the i7-12700k but the i5-13600k blows it out of the water for cheaper.
@@Shiddaruto yeah I thought about it but that’s why I’m wondering if the upgrade is even worth it for the way I play my games.
Hi! I enjoy your content :) thanks for that! What do you think about swapping 7600(non x)+extra cooler with 7700+box cooler? What about price/performance, bottlenecking 4070ti/4080, temperatures and noise levels? :)
Edit - for a brand new build obvi :)
Pc centric please make a video of Rtx 3070 ti on best price for performance
Why would I need to upgrade CPU if I'm getting the performance I want out of my GPU? If my newer games start dropping past a certain FPS then yes, I would upgrade my CPU. I think bottleneck is overstated, but I get the point. You can get more performance. I'm good with 120fps. Yeah, I could have 160, but its not necessary UNLESS I have a 144hz or better monitor. For those people, yes it is a bottleneck. Help me understand why my thinking is dumb. Great video no doubt.
Brother you should fair 13600 vs 7600 to be fair with same ddr5 it not fair enough
Pc Centric please use Msi Afterburner better display of benchmarks
Wtf?! CPU tests in 2160p?! Makes no sense 🤦🏼♂️
I will wait for the 5090 in 2025
AMD shot themselves in a foot big time with ddr5 only platform.
With current pricing neither is worth upgrade or fresh build. You are building a pc which will work for you for years to come. I don't see reason to break a bank. I understand that these channels have to promote consumerism though.
Dont all the new am5 boards have a lot of problems? like bad drivers...wonky things etc....?
This video just in time as I’ve just bought the b760
cant wait for A620 boards
Only reason I'm put off by amd cpus is because since getting my Ryzen 5 5600X I've had random full system crashes, like it black screens and reboots with the event viewer showing the WHEA logger error.
Any reason I should get this over the 13500?
Was there a fresh windows install after swapping to amd?
This man looks like Linux tech
is a ryzen 5 5600x with a 2060 super a good choice
I wonder how you test modern warfare Vs how hardware unboxed does it. I'm sure I saw a much better result in hardware unboxed latest video on 5600 Vs 13100
THIS BUDGET PC IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN MINE 😭😭😭😭😭
The extra you pay now on AMD is less than you'll pay to upgrade a motherboard and ram and later on Intel.
I’m looking for a pc upgrade since I’m still stuck with a i7-4790 ….
Would this be a good enough upgrade , obviously I’d be adding newer ram and a SSD , I’m thinking this or i3
