after watching a bunch of retreading videos, yours was the one that worked with a slight modification, the drawstring had come out of a pair of sweatpants and each end of the hole had a round metal ring so I used a Korean metal chopstick which is slightly smaller and I tightly taped the end of the string to the end of the chopstick and then treaded the chopstick through the pants pulling the string through the entire waistband, thank you.
Wow a chop stick actually worked. Thanks!!! Everyone else kept saying to take the whole thing out and use a safety pin but it was 3/4 of the way so I didn't want to.
Lifesaver! I have a pair of super long chopsticks from Daiso and using them worked like a charm. Finally was able to retring the hood of my favorite jacket. Thank you a million! 😁
Was able to get my son's fixed using the chopstick method. The Eddie Bauer brand had a flat tie so nothing to really tie around. I altered it by using a barbeque skewer, then bunching up the material, always checking to ensure the knot is ahead of the skewer. I did NOT run across edge to push out for fear of ruining the garment with the sharp point of the skewer. I pushed straight out, again bunching up the material, then pulling back always making sure the knot is ahead of the skewer. Your idea sparked this, and made a happy 14 year old. Thanks!
Forgot to mention, I pushed it through the opposite whole with the metal barbeque skewer, not pulled like you did. But the chopstick idea got me thinking so thanks again.
I tried to do this with (new) Hoodiae, took me longer than 2 mins but very satisfying once I got the hang of it and it worked. I always knew that one I would find a use for the single chop stick I had in the kitchen 😂
I had to get a wire hanger and grab some clear tape and I put one end of the string on the end of the stretched hanger and I taped it tightly and I did the same to the other end and I stuck it through the string part and it worked quickly. You just have to fiddle with it a lil bit but it worked in less than a minute
just thought I would add what worked for me. I didn't have a chopstick and a pen wasn't long enough for how far up the string was so I found a straw that was thin enough to fit in the hole. I couldn't get the string wrapped around it so what I did was get the end of the string into the opening of the straw and was then able to pull it out that way.
This video was a roller coaster ride of emotions, especially when I thought he said to use chapstick to get the string out. However, when I finally got the string out of my hoodie, I let out a triumphant roar like a lion that had just slain a zebra. HUZZAH!
I used a fine point sharpie (because they are thin) with a cap that has the hook, stuck it in the hole, put the string under the hook, and pulled the rest of the string through. I imagine a pen with the cap like that would work, too. The sharpie cap snaps on but most pen caps don't, so you may lose your cap inside the string hole 🤷🏻♀️
Chopstick didn’t fit so I had to figure out how to do it the old fashioned way. One pinching thumb and finger pushes the tip into your other pinching thumb and finger, then while holding the tip, straighten the fabric back. It’s actually pretty fast. At least with my hoodie. Probably 2 minutes if I had figured out the movement earlier. Kind of meditative.
A straw actually works better only if your strings aren’t knotted at the end though(ie slip the straw in the hole, navigate the aglet into the straw far enough to wear you can grip both the straw and the aglet, and then hold the straw down where the aglet is placed and pull them out together)
Use a metal hanger and tape the tip with scotch tape and loose string so hanger won't poke a hole when you are trying to get it out of the loop, good luck. Do it slowly.
The easiest way is to remove the string completely, then secure one end using a safety pin and push it through one hole little by little and come out through the other hole. It will not take more than 20 seconds in all
Omfg I had it like that but then I watched other videos where they took the whole thing out now I'm stuck like this. And to make it even worse it's my favorite hoodie
Too much clothing? So youre saying theres a limit to how much clothing you can wash with a hoodie if you want the drawstring pulled out? Thats a lame theory. Heres an idea to keep your clothes from pulling your drawstrings out....pull em out. Yourself before you wash
Yes, too much clothes in the washing machine will cause this string to pull out of the hoodie. Unless you tight a knot on both ends before tossing in to wash.
@@macdaddypimpping so, according to your theory if I wash my hoodie by itself then the string won't come out? Again that's a lame Theory it's not the clothes that pull the drawstring out it's the gyration and motions of the machines that pulls it out. By the way macdaddypimping you have an extra p in your name in case you didn't realize it. When a one syllable word (pimp) ends in a consonant (p) you only double that consonant when it is preceded by a vowel ( stop-ping) before adding a suffix that begins with the vowel. Pimp ends in two consonants, thus, pimping would be the correct spelling
I was nice and liked the video. However, I don’t know how a “20 second” hack was spread out into a 5 minute video, lol. If you’re really good, potentially 20 seconds?
My washer machine has a huge addiction with my strings!!
Yeah, that's funny.
Same here,
Fr same with mines it always leaves it’s doing me struggling
I know, it’s like my washing machine is in love with hoodie strings or something
You can tie the strings before putting it in the machine
I thought he said chap stick 😭 good vid
Me to
i did too.
He did
@@mayo148 chop stick
😂😂
i thought you said chapstick so i started grabbing my chapstick, and then you pullled out a chopstick and i felt like such an idiot
Lol, you cracked me up.
Same i thought that too

Cool, thanks for sharing your method.

You are very welcome and good job!
This totally worked and now I'm mad at myself for the other hoodies that I got frustrated about and just pulled the kastrine completely out
Oh my gosh man thank you son much for making the video so helpful and short and not having a 5 minute intro the helped me so much
Was able to get my son's fixed using the chopstick method. The Eddie Bauer brand had a flat tie so nothing to really tie around. Awesome job and thank you for sharing your experience with our viewers with your technique.
U are a saviour, thank you, now I can finally rock my Kobe sweater, RIP MAMBA, GiGi and all the others on the plane🖤
Giannis the goat tbh
Another garment was saved! Thanks for the help. Although I did not have chopsticks to use, I used paintbrushes that were similar in size.
Wonderful! Anything that will work for you, good job!
Worked like a charm. Thanks my dude. Cheers 👍🏼
Great to hear!
Took a minute but it actually worked!! Thank you for making this video
Anytime.
I tried to do this with (new) Hoodiae, took me longer than 2 mins but very satisfying once I got the hang of it and it worked. I always knew that one I would find a use for the single chop stick I had in the kitchen 😂
Well done!
Same lol
These also work with mechanical and regular pencils if you don’t have chopsticks, thanks for the help!
Great tip!

I literally was watching this tutorial and then I figured out I could do it easily with my hand😃
just thought I would add what worked for me. I didn't have a chopstick and a pen wasn't long enough for how far up the string was so I found a straw that was thin enough to fit in the hole. Thank you for your advice. i appreciate it it worked I didn't use a chopstick. I used a pencil but it worked thank you
Wonderful!
This helped! I ended up ripping the string off because the drip exceeds essence.
Lol
Thank you dude it worked I used a screwdriver instead of a chopstick and it still worked so thanks dude 👍😎👍
Great 👍
This video was a roller coaster ride of emotions, especially when I thought he said to use chapstick to get the string out. However, when I finally got the string out of my hoodie, I let out a triumphant roar like a lion that had just slain a zebra. HUZZAH!
Michael Silverstein
😂
I thought he said chap stick too
Lol :)
Just to let anyone know, mechanical pencils work as well as chopsticks.
Nice
thank you
Worked like magic! Thank you!
You're welcome!

Omg this actually worked! Thank you so much
You're welcome!
So mine had come all the way out. I taped the aglet and part of the string to the chopstick and fed it through. Easier than the safety pin trick
Oh hey it worked pretty well
Thanks for sharing,
I don’t have a chopstick....
I am currently tryna use a pencil. 🤞🏼 fingers crossed
Did it work
The chop stick method didn’t work but I used scissors as the loop was metallic. It worked 🥰😍😃
Amazing!
Thanks, helped a lot i just didnt have a chopstick so i used a pencil
Glad it helped!
I learned quite a bit in this video, thanks
Glad to hear it!
Jesus loves you
Thank you bro! So helpful

Use a steel tumbler straw small enough to get the end in, bend and pull it out ....less than a minute
Thank you so much🤩 it really works😍🥰

Excellent, thanks for the tip ✌️🙏
My pleasure!

If you don't have chopsticks a crochet stick will do the job too
Thanks really helped
Glad it helped
How am I gonna get a chopstick less then 20 seconds..😒
Use a thinner chopstick if you have the silver rings on the hood.
THANK YOU!!
You're welcome!
My problem is, the strings are 2 pieces not one
Lol, then you will need a new drawstring.
Leave it to an Asian to use a chopstick to do this!
Chopstick in, drawstring out.
😂😂😂

No problem 👍
I used a pen, thank you!
You're welcome!
What about pencil
Need a long pencil, good luck.
