Thank you so much for these lessons. I’m 13 and got into music some years ago, but I only really started focusing on guitar now and I love it more than anything. Without your channel, I don’t know where I’d be right now. Thank you SO SO much Ivor.❤❤
Ivor, I appreciate everything you do- the diversity of songs you select, and the way you go thru the lesson a section at a time, with the playthrough at the end. Some of your songs you call campfire versions, but they are far beyond a typical campfire lesson. For me the fiddly bits make the song. Lastly the music nerd in me really appreciates you naming the altered chords (suspended and augmented for example). Please don't change anything about your teaching style, and never stop these lessons coming! !😀
Thank you so much for all the hard work, Ivor. One of the things I really appreciate is the time you take to add those NON-guitar hooks that are so crucial to a song’s identity (Kind of a Hush comes to mind). Not only do they make the song instantly recognizable, but you arrange them in a way that allows our fingers to incorporate them with moderate to minimal effort. I have had several people comment that “they never hear that part of the song when it’s played on just a guitar”.
In my opinion Ivor, I think that you are the absolute best teacher . I wish I could have had you as my instructor when I really got into my music some 50-60 years ago.
Excellent insight. As I have often thought of these very questions over the years here on your videos. I have learned a lot of interpretations and approaches to songs through your lessons and performances. Thanks.
Thanks Ivor. I'm in awe at your level of ear for music. It's a big flaw in me. Hence I rely on your interpretations to learn from, and deeply appreciate your lessons. Maybe a further question for another update is, How do you remember the extensive repertoire of songs? I quickly forget songs I have learned after moving on to learn new songs.
Thank you for your kind comment. To be honest I have trouble remembering songs from my repertoire after a not playing them for a few weeks. I have to jog my memory by watching my own lessons! LoL. Ivor
Yes, I have learned much from your lessons. I did have one question, do you play a lot in your free time, or are you busy with the lesson planning? Thanks. Tony
That's great to hear, thank you for your feedback. My free time is mainly taken up with working on the next lesson(s) which does involve a fair bit of playing. Ivor
How ever you hear them MOST of them are close enough for most of the world. Only pet peeve I ever have is just about everyone on You Tube continues to do BEE GEE's songs in standard tuning when so many of there arrangements/recordings have Berry's open tuning guitar rhythm the base for every other part of the arrangement and if you listen you can hear that guitar somewhere under all the fancy instrument bits. Just strumming the same chords in regular tuning is almost a slap in Berry;s face.

Thank you for your comment and I take your point about Barry's open tuning. Ivor
