- Due to people on Reddit asking for this video, I have uploaded a copy.
When OneyNG reuploads these to OneyPlays, I will delete this video.
If before then, he wants me to take it down before then, I will.
The part that hurts me most is "Part 1"
Well yeah, it's the only part
@@ZionSype exactly :(
There was a second part about melodies, I hope this information helps you, comment from 3 years ago
@@ZionSype there was more parts before they got deleted and reuploaded here
the "talented youtube animator and content creator to low effort letsplayer" pipeline is real
To this day I still remember "bitch elephants don't have sharps" thank you oney
Oney's video taught me more about music theory than 4 years of band.
Panzer Man because band/orchestra doesn’t teach music theory. It’s just following notes to a tempo along with a bunch of other people
You should already know plenty if you're in band.
You must of been a pretty shit player then
Teachers are too stuck on the performance aspect to actually teach music. It's the worst.
That's how it was with me and Blender 3d for 10 years before I saw his tutorial and streams using the software lol. Now I am a god inside Blender and can make all sort of horrors.
Finally somebody reuploaded this masterpiece.
This video is incredibly genius. Not only is he incredibly funny, but at the same time he's breaking down something that is daunting for anyone to learn in a very simple way. This is basically a tl;dr of music theory that anyone can digest and figure out. Bravo Chris.
I don't know why he deleted this I learnt more from than this video than in music class 😕
Ralph Franics copyright issues
That's because you didn't pay attention in class 😂
I edited out all of the naughty words so I could show this to my class lol
Lame
coward
Should have edited in more.
ok
No fun
Sus
stop
The only music tutorial my little add riddled walnut brain can handle
😂
My music teacher played this video for are class with out watching it before and just said fuck it because the class liked it Mr Brown was cool
Lucky....
I always lose it at that scream 0:22 lmfao!!
Holy cheese Oney, thank you! I've been wanting to learn about music and you made it more interesting and memorable than ever. Thank you so much, and thanks to the guy who re-uploaded this masterpiece. Also thanks to Zach, that fine lookin' mug for that enthusiastic 'WOO!' It brought tears to my eyes.
I actually thought the video was buffering for a second.
Holy shit i cant believe this is such a well hidden video.
I know this video's a joke but this was the starting point for music for me and now I've got Grade 8 in piano and a Bsc in Audio technology and the only way I learned it was through "Bitch Elephants Don't Have Sharps"
epic if true
Something that should be cleared up is that at 8:57, he's actually demonstrating the harmonic minor scale, not the natural minor scale you may be more familiar with
I know I'm late but hear me out for any future musicians, nelson is right but to be more specific, in Oneys demonstration of a C minor scale he should've played at Bb rather than B, B making it the harmonic minor scale😅
i only click because sus amogus
honestly this video is what got me deeper into music because it was funny and I was in band, and now I'm in an Army band. Funny how things turn out.
I hope Paris Hilton watched this whole thing
Scale patterns goes as follows. This is for every key, no matter if black/white. but first two terms you need to know.
whole-tone (W): up 2 semitones.
semi-tone (S): up 1 semitone.
Major Scale: WWSWWWS
Minor Scale: WSWWSWW
this is the easiest way to find scales.
I noticed that all scales consist of 7 notes.
Using more notes will make it off key
I know it is the (same) but different and it introduces the concept of whole and half notes.
HH 1/2 HHH 1/2
H 1/2 HH 1/2 HH
I saw this for the first time about 3 years ago maybe even more. I didn’t understand any music theory, rewatching it now and understanding everything and more is really motivating. This really helped me go from vocalists (been at it about all my life but did it from ear) to a songwriter who writes with understanding . Oney is awesome I love this man
from 0:00 to 0:28 I already laughed a lot because of him. He sure knows how to make people laugh.
Wait wait wait, ONEY made this? I saw this before I even knew who he was, I was always pissed he never made more...
I could be wrong about this, it's been a while since I've studied Music Theory, but B and E don't have sharps because they're so close in tonality and frequency to C and F that C and F are their sharps.
yeah thats what he said
He literally says this in the video
I mean a better explanation would be that since we decide on a 12 equally tuned note system and we used a-g for some reason to represent most of those notes instead of like a-l or even a-f it leaves weird spaces in the name for literally no reason and it’s way too late to fix it now
we see oney goofing off so much that you forget that hes legitimately a musical prodigy
suspended 😳
The sus thumbnail
F*CK his real life video are what stuck to me the most.... lol
Yo that was a C harmonic minor, and it was too edgy when it was created, so they made the melodic minor which goes up with a major 6th and 7th and goes down with a minor 6th and 7th. It means that, after the 3rd note, it looks exactly like the major scale and when it goes down, it looks exactly like the minor scale. THE MORE YOU KNOW
"...in a future episode..."
>we'll go over what chords sound good in a future episode
Seeing my favorite goofy cartoon video game gremblin talk about music makes me happy
Why does he sound like Stamper?
They spent years as very close friends and coworkers, their mannerisms likely rubbed off on eachother
To this day, I either use "Fat Cats Go Down Alleys Eating Birds" or as my older brother put it: "Fat College Girls Don't Always Eat Bacon."
He sounded a lot like Stamper back then. I feel like he absorbs the accents of his surroundings.
That's just a human thing dude. Chris is almost a perfect imitation, so it makes sense he'd experience this phenomenon too.
@@GwynC a perfect clone you might say
but it's 5 inches tall
I've picked up some Irish pronunciation of words from binging Oneyplays when I first discovered he had a gaming channel. "Ours" is now "Ars", "I dont know" more like "aye dunno" these days lol
"In a future episode"
*SAD*
even though chris used to do a lot of in-person content, its so weird seeing him this animated irl
wow i actually feel like grasped some shit in the music theory. dude u should be a mofokkin teacher.
You only clicked this video because it said sus.
he should just censor out the cracked part on the og video and reupload it
I remember my music teacher showing my class this video
So when are they giving you a spot on Master Class?
Oh my god of course that wow was zach
Chris is such a talented little character
had to pause at 1:35 to laugh-wheeze
And that was a C harmonic minor
I was about to ask... I looked up C minor scale and it gave me the natural minor, not the same thing
He got the c minor scale wrong.
He did. Wasnt that the harmonic minor?
5:53 sus imposter among us sus vent imposter
chirs is a chemeloen. you can tell he was hanging with stamper and nial alot during the time he recorded this
BTW, I miss your cartoons :c
GMS Produções Productions he just released one
Intro is definitely inspired off of seth macfarlane
just awesome the way you teach is awesome makes me want to learn more makes me want to just jump on top of my piano and play it like the guy in Family Guy you're awesome man but I said that already so keep up the good work and keep teaching us because we need to learn we need to learn structure we need to learn piano and we need our fingers to bleed
I know this already I just love watching Chris :)
he is really good at making learning fun
God I love seeing my beautiful baby boy's beautiful baby face
I need more music clases from this wise boy....
Next episode wen
I love how entertaining Oney makes this shit.
I have been looking for this! Thank you!
"So, an octave contained 12 notes, easy."
WAIT NO, WHY IS IT CALLED AN *OCT*AVE IF THERE ARE MORE THAN 8? I'M SO CONFUSED!
It takes 7 notes to get to the octave. Ex 1. C
2. D
3. E
4. F
5. G
6. A
7. B
8. C (it's octave)
I'm referring if it's like the wholesteps
The 4 remaining notes are the sharps
The minor scale has a flat 7 too, Chris.
After like 9 or so since the original video I finally understand what the fuck he's talking about, and can confirm very helpful lol
I LOVE YOU
The only criticism I have with this video is that he is wrong about the minor scale. The 7th is also flatted. The scale he showed was the harmonic minor scale.
why didd he delete this
Because Image-Line are a bunch of greedy bastards.
But why though? Did he use copyrighted material or something?
Jerry The Obnoxious Mouse. Seriously, Screw Jerry. Where did he use fl studio in this video?
He did a tutorial on FL Studio on this channel. I kinda find it weird that he deleted his music theory video even though it had nothing to do with the strike. Still, Image-Line, bunch of ban-happy bastards.
Jerry The Obnoxious Mouse. Seriously, Screw Jerry. Maybe he thought it wasn't perfect and would redo it later, or something like that.
Itssssss baaaaaack!!!!
This video was great
Didn't there used to be a version of this upload that was longer and also animated?
THANK YOU
Thanks
U promised at the end 😢
Wow, I actually learnt something.
thanks oney i know stuff about music now
You are a good man
Please for the love of all that are bored students, make a Part 2...plleeeaases.
Was waiting for him to upload this to oneyplays. Thank you good sir or madam.
Appreciate the Zach yell
Nice major 7th on that c minor scale chris!
me who learned this in band class
Is there a part 2?
Why he deleted his video tho?
Where are the other parts?
WHAT
11:09
Where's part 2?
major minor , major minor , major minor
lmfao !
It's back !!!!!!!!!
0:34
This is a horrible way to teach it but shit it's funny as hell and actually pretty accurate 😂
godspeed my man!
Did he do the c minor scale wrong?
Well...not exactly. That was still a C Minor scale, but what he played was a "C harmonic minor" scale. In the context of what he was explaining, he should have probably played a C minor melodic scale, or a C natural minor scale, but either way, it was still technically right.
Actually the correct cminor scale, is without the flat 7. You'll learn that in order to keep the progression of the harmonics you must raise the 7th. Otherwise you'll get dominants with flat 3rds and dominants are supposed to be major.
so smol
Too many racists comments - meant to be humorous, but are NOT. PLEASE STOP!!
No you stop
U mad bro
Bruh
Sorry I know that was two years ago and you’re probably a different person from then, but I saw an opportunity and had to take it
Then these jokes aren't for you. Get out of here snowflake
I wish we had more of Oney's tut videos it'd be easier for people like me to understand
