Oh My god !!. For quiet some time,I have literally struggled to understand Git, GitHub and Bitbucket. I feel like a pro after this video. Amazing.. No words to describe. Thanks a lot. this is really gonna help me face interview more confidently
been watching many videos and reading articles to get a real good understanding of git. I guess this video is the end for that search. Precise & beautiful explanation !
Great tutorial , but please don't use annoying sounds for the pop ups, it's like watching Jackie Chan movie 19:38 I usually use git add and never use stage. What's the difference?
Staging is for files which are already present in the remote repo, add should be used for files which are new, although add works for both. I will consider the pop ups sound suggestion. Thank you for investing time in this
firstly thank you very much for this great tutorial it is really awesome. only one point I didnt get is that in "pull section", when we tried to pull from bitbucket it said "already up to date" but actually it was different on local because we had pulled the modified version from github. Why bitbucket pull recognized the local change came from github?
okay it means your branch name is not set or your remote bitbucket doesn't have any code till now so thats why its showing unknown. Now my Question do you have any branch at remote repository? if yes then follow below instruction: 1) git fetch 2) git checkout [yourBranchName]. if you still face any issue please share the screenshot at: skooncode@gmail.com
@@skooncode1626 Thanks man. Actually I should see the instructions mentioned in bitbucket page. I should do git push -u origin master intially. Then it worked. But anyways your tutorial was wonderful. Took an entire day to finish it but worth spending time.
Hi sir,I cannot thank enough for this excellent content! I have a question though, I tried to do git reset --soft as you did, but it didn't undo the last commits I made.I am using Mac pro M1, I am wondering what may be the reason.
Okay did you gave the hash after the command where you want your head to move. As i remember there no difference between os for git command apart from line and spaces
i dont usually comment but this video is very very useful thanks a lot skooncode for this abseloute learning experience provided please keep up the good work , subscribed you from both accounts
nothing added to commit but untracked files present (use "git add" to track) I am getting this error. If add any files to Repo it will show same thing please help me loop out from this problem
Use below command " git add . " And also please make sure you are in the parent directory or same directory of the files. Or else you can use below command To add specific files " git add {your file path} "
@@amarnathreddysurapureddy9111 Tell me what exactly you want I will help with that. For if you want files for local machine and don't want them to be committed then you can use stash.
For untrack files will never be added to your git repository, unless you add them to git repository. So don't worry if you see them in git status. If you wish to not see in git status then please create a gitignore file and mention dir/files you want to hide or ignore.
I'm coming here straight from the Atlassian tutorials page and let me tell you that your explanations make more sense. Big ups!
Really happy to help, thanks
this is literally mind-blowing content! can not be more detailed! deserved a lot more views!

Why bitbucket pull recognized the local change came from github?
Okay whenever you get this kind of message it means your local repo is already in sync with remote repo of bitbucket.
at 45:45 when I tried:
Git remote show bitbucket
I got HEAD branch: (unknown)
I mean how did you connect the local repo with the bitbucket ?
okay it means your branch name is not set or your remote bitbucket doesn't have any code till now so thats why its showing unknown.
Now my Question do you have any branch at remote repository?
if yes then follow below instruction:
1) git fetch
2) git checkout [yourBranchName].
