This is what I am looking for as a review, as a 20 handicap I went for a fitting and did purchase the Mizuno 923 Hot Metal irons and have been playing way more consistent the past couple of months.
Continuous improvement - channels video quality, subject presentation, your golfing ability and not to mention over 10K subs. My hdcp hasn't hardly moved while yours has dropped about 10 since I began watching. Good job all around!
So glad I found your channel! I completely agree with your addage and I hope your channel continues to grow!! I just got lessons after a couple of years of playing and I must say... You actually have a damn good swing but you do the same thing my coach just corrected me on - trying to get too far back with my backswing. But hey if it works for you, then keep it!! But for me, not trying to get it so far back there actually helped me hit more consistent shots(if a little bit shorter) but hey worth it to spray the ball a little less
Really appreciate this video! Just bought the same exact irons and was looking for an honest review by someone closer to my ability! High 20’s hcp here, really looking forward to getting these out on the course!
So glad I found you after watching guys hit 7 irons 200 yards and then say these are great clubs for mid to high handicappers! so just because you hit them well as a 2 handicap how does that equate to my 20 handicap?
Just got fitted for the JPX 923 Hot Metal HL. Tried the standard Hot Metal Titleist T350 and the Cleveland HL model and the Mizuno Hm HL just fit me far better. Hit high long balls effortlessly.
I have the Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metals women’s irons. I love them. They hit the ball smooth. So happy I found them and tried them. Yes the ball flight is excellent and the sweet spot is huge. So happy with them.
Thanks for the video. It's difficult sometimes when you see low handicappers test out clubs like a machine because you don't really know how you might stack up in terms of forgiveness, distance, etc. and this gives me a better idea of what to expect for my level of play. What's bad for them might be a fantastic shot for me! 😂
Glad you liked it! That's why I put myself through the torture of recording my swing and shots for others to watch!! LOL. I always feel like there needs to be more perspective from everyday people like us when testing clubs for sure. Appreciate the support!
Solid review for the masses!! You are filling a gap missed on YT golf equipment reviews! Thank you! What course are you showing in your outdoor on course vids?
Just found your channel today and really enjoyed the JPX review I’m a lefty mid handicap (15) golfer. I’m also a dyed in the wool Mizuno player. I play the JPX921 hot metals. Been thinking about the new 923’s but don’t know if they would be worth the change. Glad to see someone around my handicap testing clubs. Thanks
Thanks so much for watching Larry! I was real impressed by the new 923 Hot Metals. I was not as big of a fan of the 921 when I tested but perhaps I am striking the ball a bit better now than before as well. Make sure to test them for yourself and bring a current club to hit side by side to see the difference. Factor in things like loft to make sure no crazy changes have been made to get further distance, etc. Thanks again!
your swing looks good for being a 18 handi. Nice work on the video. I just bought JPX 923 Hot Metal, hands down best clubs on the market for me (11 handi).
I am currently playing some PXG GEN2 0311 SGIs. I struggle to get distance as I hit my 7 iron about 135 yards. Going to try these to see if I can get a little more distance
Hi Wade, have you ever been custom fit before, either with PXG or anyone? It helped me gain about 20 yards in all honesty and went from a stiff flex steel shaft to a graphite shaft which really helped with my swing speed which tends to be lower. I did see a pretty decent uptick in distance with these but the lofts are a bit stronger too so keep that in mind also. Super easy to hit though.
Think if you are 10 - 15 Handicap the Mizuno JPX 923 HM are great option. they look Great and provide enough forgiveness for those slightly missed shots.
Currently gaming the Taylormade Sim Max irons but looking for a new set. I am a 12 handicap and am looking at the JPX 923 Hot metal, PXG and Titleist T350. Any opinions or experience out there would be appreciated.
I love my PXG's but the Hot Metals are certainly something unique in your hands. Mizuno just knows how to make irons in my opinion. I would make sure you get yourself a true custom fitting, worth the money in my opinion. I have not tried the Titleist 350's at this point but my gut just feels the hot metals if you test them you would love them.
Definitely a better comparable but I am limited to what they will send me. A small fry channel like mine won't get everything to test unfortunately but I'm working on growing the channel for sure! Thanks so much for watching.
Actually I made the tracer lines myself using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. It is a very elaborate process but better than what you get on current apps for sure.
Just got fitted for new irons and immediately the two final contenders are the JPX 923 Liquid Metal’s Pro and Standard. I ended up going 4-GW and the lighter UST Recoil graphite shaft. 7 irons 181-183yds. Standard model. I’m 72 and those numbers beat my current iron by 20yds + I’d brought that along and tested with same balls and trackman. Will my new gap wedge be slightly different than the PW up?
I play about 4 rounds a year so I'm not very good. 1 week ago I went in for a swing evaluation and 1 lesson. In just that short time I learned a lot. Now I watch your swing and judge you like I'm a pro or something lol. You'd beat me on the course
A few things....I'm watching this video because I was just fit into these irons and was curious how others found them. But as a golfer who often has his wife (who doesn't play) tag along, I found myself laughing at the end of this video. First, because she did the wifey thing and corrected you on square footage vs. yardage (wives love pointing out when we are dumb). And second, when you said in hushed tones, "step over the rope, sweetie" knowing that if she tripped and fell you would lose your camera help forever most likely! HA!
@@GarageGolf Not to blow up your inbox with messages, but it is ironic....my wife and I also work together, both from home. She is literally 30 ft from me right now.....feet, not yards (sorry, I had to do that dig). :)
Glad you liked it!! Thanks so much for watching. Hope you love them!

always looking for a new page to follow. glad i stumbled upon this one.
Happy to have you here anytime. Thanks so much for watching Josh!
Thanks…a review for someone like me!
Thanks for watching! Hopefully you enjoyed it!
Just ordered these clubs. I was between the Hot Metals and the Srixon ZX5s.
I was really happy with them. I think you will love them.
I’m also between the 2…

@@GarageGolf I appreciate you input thanks
8% thinner face on 923 vs 921 because of new alloys mixture. More ball speed and spin

Love this testing… Cheers..!

@@GarageGolf, I was not fit for the pxg. But I will get fit this time around

I completely agree. They are incredible irons.
Great review Thanks
I've been eyeballin the HL version for next season. Thinking about pairing them up with the LTDx Max driver/woods
I think you would really like that combo!

Great channel, as you , I game the PXG 0311p gen 5. Wouldn’t the JPX923 Hot Metal Pro be more comparable? Great Review, Newly subscribed. Thanks

Great video! 😃🇸🇪
Thanks for watching John. Hopefully lots more to come with this!
you can move the tracerline by holding ctrl and the arrow keys so it matches where you have your ball placed :) great video

Hi Garage golf what is your hdc ?
Right now sitting about an 18.
What is your swing speed with the 7 iron?
Right about 77 or so.
Do you have a stiff flex or what flex are they?
Hi Hector, for my setup they were standard stiff flex shafts.

Distance is not the most important measurement, hitting around the same distance and the same spot is the most importance in clubs
Totally agree. Dispersion circles for me are the most important part of the testing process.
