      Cav is a legend and I think Cavs and Eddie Merckx record will stand for years to come UNLESS Cav actually finds a way to join a team next year and break Eddie's record and hit that 35th stage win. He's a LEGEND!!! DO NOT COUNT HIM OUT. Something tells me that he will find a way to find a team to sponsor him so that he can race in the next year's tour de France because Cav is a winner and I don't see him walking away even though he said he was retiring after this season. I just feel like he will find a way to get on a team and break Eddie's record of 34 at the next tour de France in 2024. That's my hope at least.

      Don't forget his nickname is Jasper the disaster so don't expect these results from him the next edition of the tour de France I'm not saying the kid isn't good because he is an impressive rider but this past TDF was not what will happen next season at THE TOUR!!! I wish him the best but it won't happen again. He's a flash in the pan. JASPER IS ABSOLUTELY IN NO WAY THE NEXT BEST SPRINTER!!! Have plenty of youth and him but not much experience and I don't expect too many wins from him next season.

      @@kennykaniffwhat’s ur evidence ? To back this bold claim up

    • @kennykaniff
      @kennykaniff 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@danielmacdonald721 I wouldn't really call it evidence I would call it more of a premonition. We won't see this style, ability, strength etc etc next seasons TDF. Look what everyone said about Biniam Girmay ("Bini"). He floundered big time at this year's TDF!!! And let's not forget Peter Sagan who everyone believed was the next best sprinter to enter the game and he finally petered out after a few good seasons maybe five Good seasons if that and now he's just a guy who worked for his team to grab water bottles. I know there are differences and why Peter didn't produce the wins he should have but he was the next "BIG SPRINTER" to change the game but he just had a good year and I won't take away the fact that he had an awesome tour de France but we will not see these results from him again next. What makes a true legend and someone to stick out in the sport is someone to have longevity and produce WINS REGULARLY!!! I'm just being honest and I don't think we will see that from him next year going into the tour de France!!!! He isn't going to be in any record books or produce the type of excitement that and hype AND OBVIOUSLY WINS like we see and saw from Cav and Sagan (when he was at his peak). Cav is 38 I think and he is still sprinting against the newest and fastest young kids in the sport and he has still holding his place he may not have one which is sad but he is in the record books for a reason and you cannot take that away from him but you can also not expect that from Jasper "the disaster" Phillipson!!! It's okay though because I've had cyclists that I would hope to see more better performances from and they didn't perform under the pressure. It's not just the athletic abilities it's the ability to focus and train and stay focused and not let outside influences interfere with your training and your job and Jasper the disaster Phillipson is still young so expect many more mistakes and many more things for him to learn and accomplish before we start talking about the next great sprinter being Jasper Phillipson. This is the great thing about sport we can all route for a different athlete cyclist Rider or whatever title you want to give them but very few of them stick with it and make the type of moves and awards and break records like very few have and I just don't see it in Jasper but I wish him luck.
      With that being said I offer you my respect for Jasper and I hope your cyclist can accomplish the things you are expecting from him because I just don't see it! I see him making more stupid mistakes which will happen I don't think he's learned from his mistakes YET but hopefully he can leave his mark on cycling. He has a long road to stand up against Cavendish or tsagaan or many others that came before him and the list is too long to mention but you understand that I mean no harm and I wish you and Jasper a great season for next season and others to come afterwards.

    He had a great TDF but I'm not sure he will dominate for many seasons to come. His nickname is Jasper The Disaster and there's a reason for that. Don't count on him being the next legendary sprinter!!! I can't and I won't take anything away from him having such a successful season at least not as successful as this past season. He's good but not one of the greats. I just think he had a great TDF this season but don't see it happening again like this.

    He may be taking the prize but he isn’t really winning, he committed dangerous fouls against his opponents several times, UCI didn’t punish him doesn’t mean his tactics are not punishable, imagine if everyone did that while bunch sprinting. The rules are made for a reason but they apply selectively with every excuse they can come up with.

      I don't know how you can say that because I don't even think I heard Peter's name mentioned more than once or twice throughout the entire tour. I've met Peter several times at the hotel I stayed out a few occasions and he's a great guy and that was when he was in his prime but when he got divorced his entire career took a complete dive and he's washed up you won't hear his name again he's just going to play a part on the team where he is a domestique or a helper or possibly he make it into some breakaways just to get his name out there but he is far from the Peter of the past and he hasn't been the Peter that one races all the time for at least four seasons so don't count on him to win much. The divorce really screwed him which is his own fault because he cheated on his wife and unfortunately we will never see the Peter of old times HE IS WASHED UP. And I hate to say that because I was a great fan of his and have many autographs and things that he has signed for me along with pictures and everything but he's just not the man he used to be and he never will be. His candle has burned out unfortunately and that does upset me cuz he was a great athlete and still is he just doesn't have the drive-in him anymore
