I eagerly waited for honda ev. But this Is disappointing. If activa e doesn't come with home charging, it's best to forget Honda. Day 1 is disappointing.
Dont worry it has an accessory on which u can dock the battery and charge at home or office etc, no need to use swapping station if u dont want. Its a good scooter.
I checked all the videos and other media. That was not mention. Let see. January is not to long. Honda has taken a long time to launch this ev, if it's not better than other ev's, price wise and features wise, honda scooters just roll away....

@shivamarya5225 scooters across globe use wheels larger than 14 inches, bigger wheels are not only for motorcycles. The range issue is a valid point but the effect is only marginal. If Honda doesn't know how to do a perfect balance between comfort and mileage, then we are stupid to keep buying their products.
@@akupegu1622 because they are also much larger, heavier maxi scooter, and range is a big issue, it's like 5-10% difference plus more rubber is more comfortable for suspension. That's why Ola, Ather and everyone else will offer really small wheels, 12 is already bigger than most. If wheels because they're for top speed, that's it, bigger wheels help achieve high top speed because engine can have low rpm at same speed, it's also good for traction while turning. That's it, smaller wheels turn easily and are more comfortable, all its competitors only offer much smaller

Scooters have a belt drive mechanism, so the logic is different. Bigger wheels may or may not hurt ride quality, as suspension tuning is also a difficult task, but the drop in mileage is obvious. Bigger wheels do hurt the ride quality in cars. But when it comes to scooters, 12 inch wheels can glide over potholes while the ones with 10 inch wheels will crash through them causing more discomfort.

For middle-class Indian customers who are trying to cut expenses. Rural Indian customers who don't have a dealer /swaping station near every home/destination WILL NOT BUY Few units of electricity is not a problem for Indian customers who are trying to bring down monthly expenses, It's not a big problem to charge from home or hostel , it's cheaper than battery rental and petrol. Home docking/ charging we need. And I'm sure honda is done the same. After all they have taken long time in R&D
There'll be no issue with swapping scaling with Honda because of tons of service centers but The issue is under seat storage, most people buy a scooter for storage so they can do their work in traffic without taking the car out. No Charging option will be a problem for tier 2/3 cities because it's cheaper & hesitation-free.

Considering the battery is not owned by the customer and rather it is battery as a service. I hope the price of the scooter (base model) will be within 80k-90k . Multiple gimmicks (lcd screen) but the basics not covered. People primarily want RANGE . Real world 70km is very bad , it's like some electric cycles. Also like ola they should have utilised the footwell for putting more batteries and also have 2 places for swappable batteries , with that people could get more range or bootspace whatever they fancy whenever. This was a missed chance for a company like Honda which searches for golden goose products to milk the Indian market. I hope with the sane minds Indians don't look on it. Although they still will.

If removable batteries are a must, you could look at the Hero Vida V2 series. However, if you are okay with a fixed-battery scooter, you could evaluate the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube and Ather Rizta.

Smaller wheels other use are for range. Bigger wheels are for traction and stability that's why bikes use bigger wheels
