Just watching OGW on iplayer and loving it. The BBC should bring back this show the format works there is demand for interesting music and people love seeing new bands such as Wildwood Kin. Theres a place for Later doing their thing, & theres always room for OGW!
Watched the Old Grey Whistle Test (great show throughout) and saw this performance, when my wife spotted the album on vinyl it was duly purchased. An excellent listen. All from seeing this performance on OGWT. Thanks for the upload.
like others, caught this by accident on a bit of channel-hopping. on the strength of this, one album & EP later, & fiercely awaiting some Scottish tour dates. LOVE!!! getting surprised & blown away with a new band. happens so rarely these days
pfalky2k , I’m agreeing with all that you say here, so much musical dross around these days, & it’s fantastic to know that young artists with real musical quality are still coming through. I was completely knocked out by this band! Immediately bought the album, & it’s so different to any of my other music likes too. Please tour girls, & make sure you take in Yorkshire!
I've spoken to wildwood kin..they said their musical influences are simon and garfunkel and Crosby stills and nash..ww kin if you read this try joni mitchell, peter hammill and amazing blondel for influences.
Why is the OGWT not still being made music is still hyper popular this show presented in its original style no frills just new and established acts of all gendre’s maybe with an option to vote on you tube to see wether to bring back act again in the future......I mean c’mon the amount of shit on tv that folks gripe about.....even featuring some songs with original video’s “like the old silent movie clips that were so popular with certain songs” so c’mon you have a really well loved series that would really appeal to young and old alike.
I agree. I really like the idea of present day/new acts playing live, alternated with old clips of artists playing live (not keen on music videos). It would be a good way for younger music fans to discover great music from the past, and for those who are of an age that can remember OGWT, to discover some new music. I get tired of people of my (middle) age saying that all modern music is rubbish (compared to the music of their youth), as it is clearly not the case (they maybe just do not know where to search). There is also a shocking dearth of live music programmes on television. I would have thought that it would be relatively inexpensive to make a programme with old clips and relatively new artists (as opposed to the expensive pop and rock minor 'royalty' that appear all too often and dominate 'Later').
Excellent
First time I heard this was last night... brilliant
Love those harmonies

Nice hat 🤣
Nice vocals, and the one on guitar is hot...... but they are the very definition of average musically.
A very average comment
