You people do realize that most of Stephen Kings stories leaves the audience asking questions, right? It’s one of the major points to his stories. It’s not suppose to be laid out for you step by step. Your imagination plays a huge part in all of this.
Does he realize he's brilliant?? Also, I loove the cast. Ben Mendelsohn as Ralph was the best decision a script writer/ director could ever make. He was great as one of the good guys. Can never thank you enough for how enjoyable this show was. Would definitely watch a Season 2 if there was one. 😉
I think he's brilliant. Definitely don't mind a season 2 with Ralph vs Holly Gibney as El Cuco. Or they can even solve another murder together. That would be fantastic!! Hands down the best thriller-murder case show I've watched.
So I’m reading the comments and obviously we all still have a lot of questions, and I honestly think Stephen King did that on purpose because the story isn’t over yet, no matter how close to perfect the series was.
I'm really confused by that scratch Holly got at the end. I mean when did she get it or what does it mean? Did the Cuco actually died? Also when she said "an outsider knows an outsider" maybe she's never been completely human and that's why she knew and believed all along that he existed, maybe the scratch is a foreshadowing of her real identity because there's no connection of her having direct contact with the creature. What do you y'all think?
Holly herself is an anomaly, a person who can remember everything. A savant. The post-credit scene is for us to be tested. What does it mean? Are we gonna pull a Ralph, searching for logical answers. Or open ourselves, like Holly, and accept that there are unexplainable things out there. When she's sitting on the bed, u see her fiddling with her hair, but it's played in reverse. The band comes on the radio, that Ralph mentioned earlier talking about his coincidence. And the question of Holly's scratch. When? How? We don't know. But it happened, it's there. No logical answers. :)
@@eszemaszeszed wow you're totally right maybe we just have to accept the scene as it is and try to not make up a logical reason of the whole thing even tho is really freaking hard lol, I guess we'll see what all that means next season!!
I love this series, just simply amazing! All the build up is paid off well in the end. They didn't shadow anyone, that's hard! BUT, I want to know 2 things. First of, in the cave, where Ralph said to Holly that they need to keep the thing down so people can see it to exonerate Terry, Holly said "Who's Terry?". I was like what the fuck? Didn't she know who he was or did I miss something? Second, as everyone here is guessing, that damn scratch on her right arm, please don't tell me they're gonna make a sequel because The Outsider has ended perfectly in my opinion. They did Big Little Lies as miniseries then changed it to regular series. I'm don't mind it but if they ever make a sequel, I want Ralph vs Holly, no other way around.
Yeah exactly I forgot about that, why would she say that? Didn't make any sense like girl this whole investigation began because of him, also at the end when she was touching her hair and had the scratch she seemed to behave differently, it was very subtle but was noticeable like she was someone else but I don't think she specifically became El Cuco, I think she's something else.
She said that because she wasn't thinking about getting justice for Terry Maitland while she was investigating the whole case, she just was looking for the supernatural aspect of the case. On the other hand, Ralph was always there because of Terry
@@literalnuisance7587 IDK maybe it cut Jack and appeared behind Holly as Jack in the mirror after credit scene to quickly acquire her DNA before disappearing
@@balthazarbratt8194 yeah ,they should have ended it without the post credit scene, didn't like it at all, too bad the was only 3-4 good episodes in the series ,the end was way below my expectations.
Great series, just finished watching it. Without special effects or much gore, the show really gave you an uneasy 'dread' type feeling. It was genuinely uncomfortable to watch. Good job going with story and characters, over the jump scares and blood-and-guts fake blood ketchup gore, that dominates Hollywood horror these days.
@@KokomoGreenberg I must have missed it. She's so unusual, in that she's always more curious than afraid. It's not necessarily that she's brave and others are cowardly, I don't think. That's just her 'natural' reaction. What a great character; I could watch a whole series centered on her.
@@NickAntos maybe I got the time stamp wrong but she says in the cave to Ralph "who's Terry?" and we all know she knows who Terry is! (She shoves the knife in El Cuco)
The Holly thing at the end was a cool idea. With her wits, that thing would be so powerful! Ralph is annoying! Why not let her get answer to those questions? We wanna know!
From El Cuco, to a skinwalker. A being with many names... When I read The Outsider, I had the idea of a skinwalker in my head, even after they labeled him as El Cuco.
Guys chill, the scratch is not indicative of a sequel or anything, it's just a nod to the most cliche horror twist out there: bad guy dead, happy end...or is it?
Thank you. I don't want anymore. I truly think the series ended well, although I really hate Andy and the others died. I suppose there had to be carnage coming from somewhere. The way I see it, if Jake wanted to kill or harm Hollie he would've shot her then. He had all the opportunity in the world to do so. I think he might have some type of connection to her in a way. But, I don't wanna know.
I think King nails it(actors perfect aswell). He makes sense of the EVIL in the world that's unexplainable. I've tried to read court transcripts and I couldn't finish because of the EVIL in a person and grief whether the Bible says it's the Devil or 1/3 of fallen, wether it's spirits or an EVIL malevolent organism that's evolved regardless of beliefs it's a very good explanation for evil regardless. Excellent show, grateful for Kings mind.... Spoiler I kept Wondering why Jack allowed himself to be a slave to it, by the time it was kicking his ass n using him I thought (regardless of biblical scripture) why isn't he pulling a trigger, also the boots n jacket left in the cave puzzle me and how will Holly save herself given a season 2?
After listening to Will Patton portraying Lovie Bolton and the whole scenery from Texas in the book, I'm a bit disappointed on how the show turned out.
i just watched it all and i just wanna say the mystery of it all kept me...hoskins shouldve n couldve killed them all ...they were pretty dumb n absolutely blind to danger for some reason...dont know if its the book of stephen king or they lost it in the adaptation...i think its the latter xD
this show had so much potential, and started greatly, then they fucked it up, a few episodes were just fillers after the 5th episode, and the last episode was flawed, I expected better writing for the last episode to be honest.
Another FAILED ENDING for HBO. I think HBO should start screening the final episode of their series before green lighting the shows they broadcast (yes - I know it doesn't work that way). We had minimal dialogue, too much slow motion, and not enough closure. Felt a little bit like GoT all over - with tons of build up leading to a less than fulfilling end. Bummed. Loved the series til then.
I’m not sure I would want another season , but this 10 episode story was incredible start to finish.
grapes9h5 - Eight, you mean. There were eight episodes.
Markus Sarén no, there were 10.
grapes9h5 - Yeah, you’re right. My bad!
Loved it. One of the best Stephen King adaptations I've ever seen.
Cynthia Erivo is a master.
i felt in love with the raph character! and ben, he is so cute
