      @@spanishfly7709 I have a lot of study bibles as well..mostly because the more a bible is used the more wear and tear goes into it.. pages get scruffed they get filled up with notes.. and sometimes when a person goes to replace a favorite study bible.. it has been updated.. such as the one shown here... the KJV study bible that I have used for years.. was re published in 2017 with the new full color look...there are also different translations to consider.. I like to be well rounded.. since the Falwell notes very from the Spurgeon notes.. from the MacArthur notes.. this way.. one studying can get different perspectives of a passage.. then weigh out the one that they consider is most suitable.. ..some are similar.... others are polar opposites in view.... Bibles such as anything we treasure are legacies.. which we can leave to future generations.... so buying or hording study bibles is never simply aesthetic.. any ofthe earthly things I valued over the years.. music cd s..clothes..etc.. will all burn up one day like so much rubbish.... it is comforting to know that my writings and discoveries in these study bibles..may be a help to later generations should the Lord ..tarry...

    Hello again, Pastor. I bought this same copy and it arrived yesterday. It is a beautiful Bible. There are some issues with pages sticking together, especially on the pages with photos. I agree with you on the weight. It is very heavy. As a Pastor, you could preach from it and bang it on the pulpit. I'm sure that would wake up anyone nodding off or not paying attention. LOL

      every new bible I have bought has had some pages stick due to the factory gilding process.. thats a blessing....that way I know for sure I am the first person aside from the factory to be holding that bible.. what is NOT a blessing is when I have bought a used bible.. and I have purchased several over the years from ebay..... and I still find some pages stuck.. this tells me the one I bought it from did Not go thru their bible as they should have been..... and this saddens me.. I wish everyone would open up all of God's word....I would almost rather get a used bible with some coffee stains on it or rub marks.. or bent pages then to see an unused...used bible...

    here is a copy of my response back to them...
    Thank you for responding about my request.. but I was fortunate to be able to buy a copy of this at a local Christian bookstore.. but Not as inexpensive as your price.. but at least I found one... I did have a question though... upon comparing the Large print full color version which I found,,, to an older Non colored version by Nelson publishing.. I noticed the print size seems almost the same or very close.. and also the new color version print is Not as Bold.. as the original Non color one.. does this have anything to do with these newer ones being printed in China?.. or was this an executive decision made by Harper Collins.. to lighten the print.. or change the type?... was his done to offset the fact that slightly lower gsm paper is being used on the newer ones..? and the lighter print offsets the ghosting?.. because.. I did notice between the newer and older versions when compared the ghosting is about the same....thanks again Jeff C..

    Pastor Steve, wondering if you could change how you film your Bible Reviews. I love all the commentary but, camera work with the zooming in and out does not allow the viewer to real appreciate the actual Bible. I watch because I want to see if I would like to purchase. Maybe a view focused on the Open Bible on the desk in front of you and filming from above with your voice commentary as you flip the pages for us. Just a suggestion. God Bless.

    Can you please explain the differences in Pentecostal beliefs and what this Bible has? I just bought this for my first study Bible and I’m still working on just reading the Bible being newly saved and baptized in Jesus Christ name

    • @NewLifeOfAlbanyGa

      Pretty much Jesus Name baptism and Holy Ghost with tongues would not be endorsed. Maybe some other nuances as well.

    • @jeffcarlson3269
      @jeffcarlson3269 3 года назад

      this bible does not believe in speaking in tongues as a valid gift or something for today.. see note on 1 cor 13:8..... and I am sure that there are other inferences of being baptized in the name of Father Son and Holy Ghost is the only baptism needed..read notes concerning Baptism of the Holy Spirit.. concerning 1 cor 12:13.... where as Pentecostals believe that annointing seperately of the Holy Ghost is one thing that to be desired and is a seperate baptism after the initial one..you won t find that in this study bible..nor.. the gift of Prophecy as one to be soughtIf you wish to find a bible with the Pentecostal view in the forefront I would recommend Thompsons..I can t remember who publishes that one... or the Fire bible by Nelson...

      I used the Zondervan study bible for a few years.. I have the regular print and the Large Print. versions ... my former pastor used it up until he passed.. God Bless Him.. I believe the Zondervan study bible is a good study bible ...the study notes in Zondervan are very well laid out.. but my preference for the last 16 years or so has been the Nelson study bible.. I love Falwell's. insights.. but as I said.. Zondervan is very good as well..And our conservative former pastor used Zondervan's up until he passed....He never preached from anything else...I bought him a new one anonymously...after he became our pastor in 2004...I signed it "to pastor from your flock.". no one else knew that it was I who bought it for him.....unless he mentioned it privately to the deacons.....I bought it.... because.. I felt his old Zondervan was getting worn out and needed to be retired.. but you know........He kept using that old one he brought with him to our church when he first came there... the whole time 15 years or so he was at our church.. I don t know what ever became of the new one.. Now I realize how precious old worn out bibles can be to those who really love God...!..

I take my study bible to church and show it to everyone.. and hold it up so everyone can see...and talk about it.. I show them the study notes..and when they compare it to their Scofields Ryries.. or life application bibles they are flabbergasted...... it gladdens my heart when I have had fellow Christians come up to me and tell me that they were overjoyed with the amount of writing and notes I had written down in mine as well.. your study bible may be a blessing to someone waiting to happen...

    Even though they use the KJV their notes are based on the new version at times, so does the Holman. An example would be Galatians 5:12. They say Paul is referring to castrating themselves which is in some of the new versions, the KJV Reformation Heritage Bible has it that he means "excommunicated" which is what I believe Paul is correctly saying.

      I think you are misreading the meaning of the note in this verse.. castrated does not mean a physical act of violence... "themselves castrated" .. is in a cut off sort of tone.. yes that is what happens during the physical act of castration.. but Not what is meant here... Here this Castration.. Means shunned...in other places Paul has expressed this as Maranatha.as in .1 cor 16:22

Yet the Spirit filled Life.. which is related to those 3 did NOT...

    another interesting difference I noted... where as.. the prior Nelson bibles I have use the Nelson.. standard maps that went into various translations published by them... has been replaced by the Zondervan maps.. on this bible... the Zonderman maps from what I coan tell seem to be more detailed...which is good.. but as you pointed out.. these maps do NOT show Israel going thru any water during their Exodus flight.. but neither do the Nelson maps.. which I had noticed some time back and was wondering about.. its almost as if they don t want people to believe the Red Sea event.. just saying,.. it seems quirky.. the other thing I noticed is a b ig help which a lot of bibles don t do is... have an index to the maps.. to easily locate.. various..cities and areas.. I don t know why this is not included with every bible that contains maps...cities like Jerusalem or Bethlehem aren t hard to locate but what about cities like Scythopolis?...

      I have been studying bible paper quality as of late ...since I have recently started purchasing higher end bibles...now these high end bibles start at over 200.00... when I got some and looked at the reviews.. I was disappointed to find that many of these expensive bibles have downgraded to a 28 gsm paper opaqueness.. they at one time were 36 gsm.. they did this to offset the weight.. a bible containing 36 gsm paper as opposed to 28 gsm paper can weigh between 1 to 2 lbs less.. these publishers maintain it s to make the bibles lighter to carry and more convenient.. but when they did this they compromised.. the writing capability in them.. a simple ink pen written on these pages can cause "ghosting".. or shadowing on the opposite side of the paper.. not to mention the easier to tear factor...thereby..making therir desire ability for everday study..Not appealing..... however ....I discovered that Nelson maintains a paper of between 36-38 gsm.. on most of their bibles.. and the wide margings about 42-48 gsm in opaqueness... the high end bible wide margins are a little more opaque as well but they do not come close to the Nelson s.. or even the Zondervans and others that are in general public use...I would still use a dry highlighters even on Nelson s.. unless you get a wide margin.. these take some getting used to and don't stand out as well as wet highlighters.. but you don't have to worry about paper curling from the wetness of the marker or bleeding thru.. and for heavens sake even on Nelson bibles.. don't lick your fingers to help turn a page unless you don't mind corners curling or gradually becoming dog eared.....

I have the KJV study bible by the Thomas Nelson. Does this KJV Study Bible full color have the same commentary as the Thomas Nelson NKJV but KJV? It looks like it has much more then my KJV STudy bible from about 10 years back. Would you recommend this Study Bible or the Holman NKJV Study Bible first. I can honestly tell you the full color version that came out in 2017 has some things added ..here is a list...that has been added after Revelation
      TOPICAL INDEX TO CHRIST AND THE GOSPELS ...14 PAGES
      TOPICAL INDEX TO PAUL AND HIS LETTERS.....12 PAGES
      TOPICAL INDEX TO END TIMES PROPHECY...10 PAGES
      WORD STUDY INCLUDED AS PART OF THE CONCORDANCE
      THE MAP SECTION IS MORE DETAILED...The maps as stated on the copyright page are from the Zondervan study bible which has more detailing in them then the standard Nelson maps....
      ...even with all these features.. and in the Large Print.. which does not appear to me to be much larger than the prior regular print Nelson KJV study bible..... and with the extra maps added throughout the text this bible is only about 204 more pages in length... a total of about 2232 as opposed to the original of 2178.....

    • @jeffcarlson3269
      @jeffcarlson3269 3 года назад

      another big difference with the newer version is that the commentary notes at the bottom are in double column as opposed to the single column notes of the original.. in other words the layout of the notes read like the bible itself.. not all the way from all the way from the left to all the way to the right...

      I have seen so many different reading plans over the years from reading the bible stright thru.. to ones jumping around..from psalms to O.T. to N.T.. I think reading 4 to 5 vhapters a day,,.. will get a person thru their bible completely... just mark off your place day to day and you ll be fine.. I never enjoyed jumping around the way some do that is why I read from cover to cover...My problem is I don t like to read and not fully grasp what I am reading.. I ve talked to so many people over the years that could boast about how many times in their life they have read their bible thru.. yet they don t have any bible knowledge.they could not even recite all the books of the bible in order.. from start to finish.. I think a person that has read God s word several times should be able to do at least that much.. there is no good in reading a bible thru if one cannot remember much of it. or understand it.. like Phillip said to the Eunich.. "Understandest thou what thou readest..?".. the Eunich did not keep reading but stopped and beckoned Phillip to explain to him what he was reading...some just read to stay up with the bible plan.. I myself do not feel God s word can be read like that.. so I always stop and look up things such as locations people etc,,.. any time I am not sure what something is ,I investigate it further... I don t get my bible read in a year.. but I leave it feeling closer to God...

    The leather soft looks great. However, have you seen a leather edition? If so, how does it compare?
    Is the color format and features enough to warrant the purchase instead of the Nelson 2nd Edition?
    I have been using the 1st edition for years and decided to purchase another Nelson or a Thompson Chain Bible. The Thompson and the color KJV are the only ones to offer a leather option. Too bad the Nelson 2nd does not have the option. Thanks in advance for your reply.

The scholarship behind this Bible was from the faculty of Liberty Bible College (now Liberty University). How Thomas Nelson acquired the rights to print it is unknown to me. I just hope Thomas Nelson has sewn bindings now on their Bibles. They have been producing some garbage publications as far a quality goes.

    One of the differences and a very important one at that is in Genesis 1:2 where it says "the Spirit of God".
    In this Bible the word "Spirit" has a capital 's' meaning God Himself, whereas the non-full color 2nd edition has a small 's' designating something like an angel. My advice is before you purchase a Bible check to see if certain words are spelled differently as the spelling can give a totally different meaning or perspective then what was originally intended and can result in a misunderstanding or a misinterpretation of the Scripture passage. There are plenty of internet sites that are devoted to this subject. 📖🙏

    I've got both editions of this study bible. It's ok. I disagree with some of the commentary such as Job 40: 15-17 talking ab how Behemoth moves his tail like a cedar & the commentary wants you to believe the bible is talking ab a hippopotamus..
    Makes me wonder if they've ever actually seen a hippo's tail.
    Other than that, it stays away from giving commentary on real controversial verses. It affirms 'grace thru faith' when it's spoken of, but in other commentary it'll try correcting the KJV. Every study bible I've read tries this though.
    Holman study bible has a bit better quality commentary, but Thomas Nelson does give more info ab things such as the covenants in the OT, the concept of the Trinity, feast days, ect..
    It's good to have a few different study bibles. Never go with strictly one. Have two or three. Some give insight on verses or topics others ignore entirely. I'd recommend this study bible. Just know where God's word ends & man's opinion begins!

Falwell was not stating He was human... could this king be like Christ 100% man and 100% God..?..and verse 3 does state "made like unto the Son of God".. I will say that perhaps the word "son"..in tyhe bottom notes.. may have been a typographical mistake...I do not think Falwell wa trying to subtley hint that Melchizedek was Not divinity in the form of man.... Salvation is based ONLY upon one's Repentance toward GOD, and Faith toward Our Lord Jesus Christ - not on what idiotic or proper doctrine one might hold later. Once one is saved, they are always saved, for that is the Word of GOD, according to His Grace - as sinful as we are, if we could ever commit a sin that could lose our Salvation, we would do it, but that would frustrate the Grace of GOD - GOD knows how dumb we are, and saves us in spite of ourselves, for it is based upon Who His Son is, and what He did ONCE on the Cross, then Rose Again. The Pretribulation belief is the proper, Biblical one, in that the next thing on the Agenda is Christ coming in the air for the Saints, then returning with them to Heaven. On Earth then will be the seven year Tribulation, then Jesus will come back and stand upon the Mount of Olives, as prophesied in ZECHARIAH, then vanquish Israel's enemies, and ALL ISRAEL as a Nation will be saved, having realised that Jesus is their Messiah, and Christ will rule and reign for a thousand years from Jerusalem, and all nations are to keep the Feast of Tabernacles, else suffer drought. After the thousand years is one last rebellion, which Jesus will destroy, then the New Heavens and the New Earth. Hallelujah !

    • @christopherlilly5906
      @christopherlilly5906 4 месяца назад

      @@NewLifeOfAlbanyGa Did I say that ? I certainly did not. I made it clear that we are saved by Grace through Faith, based on our Repentance toward GOD and Faith only in Jesus Christ, and I never said that any sin we commit was OK for anyone - sin is an affront to GOD, and is never Okay, but GOD knows we are all sinners, which is why He sent His Son to bleed and die on the Cross for us in the first place. If sin was alright, why do that ? So sure, people sin in many ways, and even those who are born again do so - it is almost unavoidable, because we are sinful beings. This does not mean we take the Grace of GOD lightly, and do what we want after we are saved. If we have repented, this means we have had a change of heart and mind towards those things, and GOD convicts us against that. Anyone who then willfully sins is then disobeying GOD, and must repent of that also, and as they Bible says, if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we sin, we lose fellowships with GOD, but not the Relationship - we are still His Children by Faith in Jesus Christ. This is why the Apostle Paul went all out to show Christians that although we are called to Liberty in Christ, in that we are not bound by stifling regulations, this does not give us any licence to sin, and the idea of being a Christian is that one has a new life in Christ - we are a new Creature, and thus, although we are secure in Christ, and cannot lose that Salvation, there is no excuse nor justification for taking it lightly, for there are consequencces for all that we do or do not do - and I NEVER suggested otherwise - maybe it was simply that I did not explain all of this in the first comment I made. Thus, man is sinful, born with a sinful nature inherited from Adam and Eve, and through the Ages GOD showed that man could not please GOD by his own efforts - the Law could not save, and was never meant to - it acts now as our Schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, to show us that we cannot fulfill it all - those who try doom themselves to Hell because they are trying to trust in their own efforts. So, Salvation has to be of GOD, and He did it all in Christ - our only minor part is to choose - to exercise our Free Will that GOD gave us, to repent, which only means to think again, and to believe, for we walk by Faith, not by Sight, and once we do so, GOD looks at the heart, and seals us with that Holy Spirit of Promise. Thus we begin in the Spirit, and are NOT made perfect by the flesh. If we could lose that Salvation that it took the Son of GOD to pay for by His Blood Atonement Death, Burial and Resurrection, then there remaineth no more Sacrifice for sins, and how could we maintain a Salvation by our own Good Works that we could never earn in the first place ? Thus the Grace of GOD, else Grace is no more Grace. It has to be, it makes sense. So yes, we are saved, and saved for good when we Trust in Christ, and this is why the Apostle Peter said , But Grow in Grace, and in the Knowledge of our Lord and Saviour - we cannot do it all at once, it has to be One Day at a Time, Sweet Jesus, but if we are genuine, it is GOD Who changes us, as we submit to him - rather than use that Liberty as occasion to the flesh. It is He Who has drawn us, provided for our Salvation, and maintains it Himself, and there are many Christians out there doing just that - trusting only in GOD to obtain and maintain us as His Children.

      @@christopherlilly5906 1 John 3:15. I’ve done several videos and written a couple of books on this subject. I’m certainly not trying to misrepresent you. God bless!

      @@NewLifeOfAlbanyGa Okay, I appreciate that, although this is how it sounded at first. Perhaps You simply wanted me to explain what I meant, all about Eternal Security, which is Biblical. Ironically, this was not the original reason I had commented in the first place, which was actually to do with the pre Tribulation rapture idea. But certainly, it was commented that some had said if someone was not doing some thing or other they were not saved, but as I stated, the basis for Salvation in this age is Repentance toward GOD, and Faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Thus, if there is NO Repentance, so that a person hears about Christ, then says, Well, I can believe in Him, but then go on sinning all I like, He will NOT be saved, for GOD looks at the heart - remember, the devils also believe and tremble. So, knowing GOD exists is not enough, even though it is Faith that ultimately saves us. But it is based upon genuine, Spirit wrought Repentance, which is NOT a turning away from sin, as some teach, but a change of mind and of heart, which should lead to a turning from sin. One hears the Gospel, is convicted by the Holy Ghost - the only time He deals with the Unsaved, else no one could ever be born again, and then with that repentant heart, which GOD sees, places their Trust ONLY in the Person and Work of Jesus Christ, not their own person and work, and they are saved. Hallelujah! Christ baptises them with the Holy Ghost, Who Himself baptises them into Christ - all automatic, and one has the Spirit, for if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His - having begun in the Spirit, neither are we made perfect by the Flesh. Thus, once one is saved, they can walk in the Spirit, and be filled again and again with the Spirit, Who enables them to follow GOD and surrender to Him. This is the clear teaching of Scripture. So yes, we are saved, for He has given us the Earnest of the Spirit, but we do not grieve the Spirit, Whereby we are sealed until the Day of Redemption. This is why they sung Amazing Grace, for the old fellahs knew what the Bible said - this is why we are to be so grateful to GOD Almighty for His Unspeakable Gift. He does not give a Gift, then take it away - none can pluck us out of the Father's Hand, not even ourselves.
