Hello, Dave. Thanks for watching and commenting. Once it is finished off with the 2-car add-on, it is really going to look sharp running around. The lighting is what makes it.
Good Morning Anthony hope you and your family are well, those coaches are stunning in red and nicely detailed. I love the lighting so nicely done by Marklin never has light up coaches before but there awesome.
Hello, Dean! I personally try to get light-up coaches whenever I can as I like the effect, and I hate the idea of installing the lights myself afterwards. I actually have a set of lights to install on a set of cars, that I have not done in almost 2 years. I have a LOT of red stock because of Deutsche Bahn's regulation colors, and there is more red to come eventually. lol
Well, I know very little, I just ride them. So, once I realized my mistake in the mail call video, I figured I better correct myself. lol In the end, they are sharp!
Great looking train ! Really looks stunning with its interior lighting and close couplings with a 101 on the front ! I know what you mean about the interior colour but I can never b bothered to take the body off to paint it myself 😅 Great review take care
Hello, Andy! Thanks for watching! I am the same. If it bothered me too much, I could just paint them myself. I just recently saw some UK coaches which had the seats and tables all done nicely in production and just wonder why it is not always done. Plenty of folks paint them up on their own, I just do not like painting anymore, and certainly not getting sloppy with these somewhat expensive wagons. lol
Hi Anthony, this is a highly detailed 4 car set, and looks terrific. I am a little surprised that the seating is a bit plain however it is still a great Train and a fine addition to your stock. Cheers, Paul.👍👍👍
Hello, Paul! I am not surprised the seating is plain as, pretty much all the companies I am familiar with tend to do monochromatic interiors. I have seen a couple very deluxe models and some UK company has down multiple colors on the inside. I wonder how much the cost would go up. Still, if one adds figures and going round at speed, it doesn't matter. Cheers!
Hello, Joe! Thanks for watching. That was the only reason for buying them- they are lit. My other set of similar stock is non-lit and cheaply made (though expensively priced) and I wanted to replace them.
For the speed limits: This one is certified for 200kmh (as depicted on the RIC grid) while a 'Silberlinge' type vehicle is limited to 140kmh. So these are meant or a different kind of service For the interiors, well you do end up with ESU or Artitec pricing when you want different colored seats, as you basically have to go all the way including brass luggage racks...
Indeed, Ivo. For some reason, when I saw these announced, my brain just said "SIlberlinges" without even looking. Clearly the doors are narrower (single) and spread wider on the coach. And they are, as you told me, Eurofirma with all the speed adjustments. As far as pricing, I mentioned that. It is a mild issue and only because I saw Hornby did some coaches with the interiors multi-colored- and quite nicely. If it were a big deal, I would just pop and paint them, or put figures in all the windows, which hide the lack of detail. lol Cheers and thanks for all your knowledge!!!
I suppose that's what we call 3 coaches and a DVT (driving van trailer). Suitably Teutonic in appearance, it runs so well. Little drag, strong non flickering lights and close coupling par excellence. This is the standard our dummkopf companies should aspire to...🌭
Hi, Andy. Yep, we call the DVT a control cab or Steuerwagen. As far as lighting, I have always liked the UK way of lighting. The German ones often flow through the couplers with pickups on the axles. So, if one pickup is bad or the track is not good, the whole set of coaches flicker. With some of the UK stock I have seen, each car is self lit (pickups still on the axle), and if one is bad it does not affect the whole line. My biggest complaint toward UK rolling stock is the coupling... especially the D couplers. Now, my Azuma has great coupling (similar to my ICE and Railjet), but the big and small D couplers are a bother. Mind you, now that NEM sockets are becoming standard, it is easier to switch out. I am still, after 7 years, too ignorant of any of this... German, Austrian, UK ... to be too critical. I can only state my little preferences and minimal knowledge, which I still get wrong.
Hi Anthony another pretty train (Two Ladies in Red Now) maybe you should have had it pushed by the loco I know what JR would say. Looking forward to Friday. Regards Tom
Hello, Tom! I am just pumping out videos this week. lol I have a LOT of red stock in my fleet... enough to do an entire running session in red (stay tuned in a couple weeks). As far as running it backwards just to appease Jean... we will see what I do either this Friday or the following. lol
Hello, Clive! Thanks for watching! And you are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO right. I am already looking at adding another shelf. I am just trying to decide where. lol
Hello Tim, my friend! The "official" consist is a 6-car one. The other two cars will arrive within the next few weeks. Märklin (and most other companies) tends to space them out about 2-6 weeks. They release the main set, and then the add-on.
morning anthony a very nice set very nicely details a big like. as me you will have to put up mpe shelves for your collection as you a am rapidly running out of space constantly looking to se if i can fined a spot for another shelf 😂😂 as alway have great week cheers for now al 👏👏🚋🚋😁😁
Hello again, Al! I am just camera happy this week. 3 straight days of videos, but this is it. I have put myself out there too much. As far as more space? I already have a wall ready, I just have to buy the wood (maybe this weekend- lol). I did do some re-arranging on my current shelves for temporary, but with more to come, I definitely have some DIY work ahead of me. lol Take care and talk to you soon!
Those are super sweet.. are you gonna put passengers in those? Highly detailed, it would be nice to paint the interiors, but it would take some time. Runs really good and nice with the lights off..
Hi Anthony - That is a very nice looking set indeed. One thing I did notice was that there seemed to be no flickering of the lights although that may be testament to your good track laying !! The only things with coach lighting is it shows up the lake of interior detail and no passengers . So I have given myself the job of painting and adding passengers , the difficult bit is getting into them !!! Cheers Kev
Hello, Kev!!! I do need to add passengers. When you add passengers, it hides the lack of coloring on the interior details. I do love it when folks take their coaches and paint the chairs and table tops different colors. I do not trust myself to do that anymore, especially with the price of these coaches! Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting!
That is a good looking set Anthony. Personally, I wish all manufacturers would stop issuing monochrome interiors. I would also like to see crew in the cab...just of one my pet hates :) I was curious that the power car had grey bogies but the other cars had black ones. Is that accurate? I do not know so simply wondered. It also threw me not see a power car at either end but I guess that is how they are as well. Keep up the great work, fabulous channel
The control car was rebuilt with high speed bogies (as the original ones were not certified for 200 kmh operation). Compared to the other vehicles (which were 200 kmh fitted from the factory) they are brand new, which is the reason for the difference in color. They are also a different type
Well, Ivo beat me to that one, and I knew the cab was retrofitted. It would be nice of they included drivers, but it is not a big deal to me. Two-thirds of my trains run empty anyhow. lol I do not believe these cabs are fully motorized in real life to be able to have one at both ends. I do know that the new double-decker cabs seem to be as there are commuter trains running with control cabs on both ends and no locomotive (in the traditional sense). In fact, after having ridden one in 2019, I have one on order that was supposed to be in 4 months ago.
Hi, Rick (and Pauline)! Thanks for checking in! As far as modifying, the only thing I do is change couplings (if needed) and add passengers, although I am way behind on that. I do not weather them or graffiti them. Part of it is, for the price I do pay, I am not going to mess them up. As I mentioned, I would love to do the interiors, so that option is out there, but I have not done it with any of my train models yet. Cheers and best wishes!
Hello, George! These are passenger coaches, and the control cab is not powered (no motor), so it needs the locomotive. Even the real units, going cab first, still require the loco for power, they just drive it from the cab.
@@ModelTrainOutsider so the next 2 are still coaches you still have to use a loco to pull them so you bought 6 coaches or will be buying 6 coaches when the other 2 turn up seams a shame they did not make one an engine
@@whitewallwheels1hardcore.m_o_h Yes, it will be 6 coaches (or, technically, 5 coaches and a control cab) and then add the loco. The control cabs can not drive on their own, they have no motor, so they use Class 101 or other high-speed locos to pull or push.

Great looking train. Thanks for sharing. Dave
Hi Dave, my pleasure!
What a nice set🤩🤩!! Looks awesome and its great when the Steuerwagen has the decoder right from the factory...love it!
I agree. I am very pleased with this set, including the close coupling!
FANTASTIC, FANTASTIC video my good and dear friend, it really is fantastic 🤩🤩🤩🤩. Like 44 👍 !!!!!!!
Well thank you very much for that, Letto! Cheers!
Great video/intro of this train set, now I’m really tempted…
It's something I have wanted for a while, so glad I have it. Not specifically this set, but the cars and in the Verkehrsrot.

Definitely well done for my tastes!
Europe really has some great looking modern streamlined passenger trains.
They do, but I have seen plenty of great stuff old and new in American rail the last couple of years! Cheers, Steve, and thanks for watching!
