Yes, Bangkok has a lot to see and do. It's also easy to get around Thailand by plane or minibus from here. The nearest beach is only an hour's drive from Bangkok.
Take your time ... Thailand always welcomes you!

Great question. It's notorious for the two red light districts (Nana + Soi Cowboy) and the crowds that come there for it.
As of now end of November 2021 entertainment venues in both areas are still closed due to the Pandemic.
