Today on 5th January 2021, we witnessed the first snowfall of 2021. There are many tourist who came just to see fresh snowfall. And today they got to see the white beauty of narkanda.
Narkanda is one of the main attraction of Himachal when we talk about snow. besides manali we have all snow activities here in narkanda.
Talking about snow in narkanda, one of the main problem that one can face is of driving in snow. it is really hard to drive in snow. if proper attention is not given then it can lead to accident.
so drive carefully.
There are many cars sliding after first snowfall. few accident were also there.
this video was just an update of fresh snowfall in narkanda.

Why not make it mandatory for cars reaching snow covered areas to fit chains in the tire while entering a snow covered area? Them being stuck cause inconvenience for everyone. Also, it is a safer option and might help locals generate an income.

U don't need chanis u need winter tires. The roads are made of asphalt so chains would damage the road badly. Make winter tires mandatory.
People of Himachal are always helpful and kind. I have good experience with those people. Best part about Himachal people is they sometimes go out of way to help you without expecting anything in return.

Snow tyres or snow chains should be mandatory not 4wd. Without grip 4wd can't do shit.

Snow chains must be a mandatory item for people travelling towards northern areas specially during snow season. A good quality snow chains it’s a life time thing but It is not about price but about approach and attitude of travellers

I have lived in Canada for 5 and used to drive there too. My car wasn't a 4x4 but we used to change to winter tires in the winter. So, I used to drive my car slow during the snowfall to avoid skidding and brake also slowly, not hard. But as they are used to snow in Canada, the roads are salted immediately after the snow and the snow is cleared from all the main roads by night time.
I live in Germany and we have bmw we use snow tyres or it not compulsory

Buy a car with TCS Traction Control System,Tyres should be off-road or chains should be attached and definitely front wheel drive or AWD/4X4 because other cars or vehicles fails there.

Indian Hill stations aren't equipped to handle snow. How stupid is to visit such places without snow chains? Worst part is that snow chains aren't available at those places aswell. It's an ongoing problem with no solution

90% of Indian car drivers are non technical and are absolutely nonsense how to handle the cars even if there is mild snowfall. If your car looses traction, the first step is to deflate the tyres to that point at which the car is able to gain it's traction. Normally it's 22psi to 17psi. Some heavy cars like of Tata or ford, the cars needs further deflation to 10psi. In today's modern cars, tubeless tyres are used and deflation don't harm them. As soon as the road is clear of snow inflate the tyres to normal pressure with the help of electric car Tyre inflator. Tyre inflators come in various sizes and can be used by plugging into cigarette lighter port (power port; 10Amp) and costs around 1600 to 3500 rs. I have used these simple tricks while driving in hilly areas of Himachal.
Snow chain and snow tyres should be mandatory in snowy areas.

Wrong. Most important thing in snow or ice are having winter tires. A 2wd with winter tires will do better than a 4wd with all season tires. Thats how much winter tires make a difference. As someone who drives 4 months in snow in buffalo, new york. I know. 4wd is only needed when the snow is deep and u need all four wheels to dig through to make a path.
