Red Origins Lapras using Ice Beam constantly against Red Lapras... too smart. Kabutops didn't using a rock move against opposite Lapras... too smart, Jolteon using electric moves against Venusaur... all of these stuff seem too smart and interesting. Annoying battle (like Red's Blastoise stupidily fainted against Jolteon...). Whatever...
So bland protagonist of the badly written fanservice anime that everyone pretends is better than Ash's anime vs. the empty shell of a player-insert character that everyone worships like it's the main figure in their Bible ends in the slightly more interesting between the two losing. While I know a lot of these battles comes down to RNG, I'm having a hard time believing that there wasn't at least some bias towards Game Red influencing his victory.
