Incredible natural beauty, thank you as always for sharing. And as an infrastructure nerd, I always enjoy catching up with all the projects at Birken! I love the 'stargate' on the shelter!
@@jakeleak This summer I disciplined myself to take a rest day between saunters. Ended up being great for my leg, as on the days I did get out I was able to easily hike 10 miles (16k), and on my “off” days was usually getting in 3.5 miles with the work I was doing. So far the leg has had no issues, but I know the injury is a life long issue, I just need to keep up the exercises. Thanks for asking.
@@jakeleak oh ya, I was talking to the moose as I was almost on of him before I noticed him. I was a bit concerned he might charge. The same with the fox, turns out she had a two kits just up the trail, in the direction I was going. She must have trusted me, as she sauntered off the opposite direction. I did see the kits, but didn’t get my camera out in time to get a good photo.
@@Jotipalo I was hiking and came around a corner and almost walked right into one. We were both instantly terrified. Luckily she bolted instantly. They are huge animals.
September is a beautiful time for sauntering. Thanks for sharing and also the time lapse on the Buddha shelter.
Ajahn: the fox! So wonderful. I will be coming to Birken in early Nov and look forward to a teatime.

@@JohnVance I’ll post a full Timelapse video once the shrine in complete.
Moose are beautiful and scary at the same time. How is your leg doing now? Are you fully recovered?
