Lmfao, you win! I see my reflection too but appreciate that someone has the time and skills that helps the rest of us immensely! You can stop halfway through and you will still have a great looking mini. My neck and shoulders definitely cannot take that many highlights! :)
Every once in awhile I manage to paint a miniature up really nice, and I think "Wow! I'm starting to become a good painter!" then I see Sorastro's work and my jaw hit's the floor - every time!
You and me both! I learn a lot from his videos, but I'm nowhere near his skill level, either. One should always strive to improve and Sorastro is a standard worth striving for, IMO.
Something I absolutely love about your videos is your use of music, and your smooth audio transitions for when you use your VO. OBVIOUSLY , your painting skills are amazing, but what I think really sets you apart from other content creators is your firm grasp on the A/V side of the house as well. Keep it up! I understand the technical difficulty and time investment required for making videos, and I am just letting you know your hard work is noticed and appreciated.
Really, really great video and paint job. I am a pretty mediocre-decent painter and have been in miniatures on and off for 20 years. Wife commented my minis for Crisis Protocol were a bit lacking in depth of color as I was going for quickness. I decided Captain America would be my showpiece and followed your video almost to the letter. The result wasn't as good as yours, but you explained and showed all the relevant steps and the model ended up close enough that it's now the centerpiece of my collection. Thanks a TON for the work you put in.
Hi Casey! Thanks so much for sharing that. I’m really having fun going to town on these minis, and I’m happy that you’ve enjoyed following me along with the Captain. 😀
What amazes me is how he makes the brushstrokes disappear in the flat shading with a wet brush and yet uses the appearance of brushstrokes for making the metallic look like they have the metal grain effect. Truly impressive.
What you did on this model was amazing, but that shield; if I hadn't have watched you paint it, I wouldn't have thought it to be humanly possible! Well done!
And now I’m a patron! I was so anxious about painting these models because I wanted them to look perfect & with my favorite painter leading the charge, I’ve confidently started the journey. Please continue & do everything! Even the terrain objects!!
I've gone through some of your Imperial Assault guides, and now I look forward to Crisis Protocol with you. It had been a long time between I last picked up a brush and when I started again, and I personally can see progress. I may never be as half as good as you are, good sir, but that's okay! I don't need to be. I just need to be better than where I was when I started. You inspire me to want to become better, and to just paint. Thank you, truly.
You keep taking it to the next level. The terrain you built for this game is incredible, and now this piece! That shield! I expect to revisit this video several more times.
Thank you so much for this series. I'm painting Captain America for a friend, and this video has improved my skills and technique. The ability to paint along with such a knowledgeable and friendly-sounding hobbyist cannot be valued enough. Please keep up the great work!
Damn, every time I see you paint you've gotten better and better, I have no Interest in this game, but I would sit and watch you paint ALL the miniatures all day. Utterly Brilliant.
Thanks so much for this video, I am a beginner painter and was desperately looking for a tutorial like this. Most of the youtube painter cut important steps and it is almost impossible for me to follow. You have everything covered. It is so much fun to paint according to your video :)
Done painting my warcry miniatures recently. Not the best paint job in the world, but I really like how they turned out, mostly anyway. One day, I might can be half good as you are. Sor, you're an inspiration to me. Love ya, no homo.
I finished the Untamed Beasts this month and feel the same as you. I'm proud of myself for trying different techniques like mixing paints to make new tones. I made mistakes, but I learned a lot and am now working on the Unmade, which have been a ton of fun.
@@kingxerocole4616 Unmade's one of the coolest warband. I'm going to get them as well in the future. Good to see another warcry fan, Good luck with your painting.

Awesome, thank you! Yes, I was kind of transitioning into Scalecolor paints during these earlier episodes, and just really loved them for this genre in particular 😀
Absolutely beautiful! And here I thought I was going to avoid buying this game. Superheroes+Sorastro...I have to have this one. And paint it, and maybe build terrain for it!
being painting on and off for years, but only recently discovered how useful a wet pallet is! Now just need to get my hands on a air brush. Great videos.
Ha, you did it again : when I thought we've seen the best of you, you still manage to impress. That shield is something else. And I thank you for the amazing consistency of your work : it is still masterfully shot, scripted and edited. Well done sir.
I’m so excited you’re painting through Marvel: Crisis Protocol! I learned how to paint minis through your Imperial Assault series and gained a ton of experience and a love for mini painting. Now I’m ready to level up with what feels like an old friend. Also, ❤️ to your family.

The whole thing is lovely (as always), but that shield is entirely insane... I'll definitely be studying what you did there a few times before I give that a try. Great stuff

Awesome for a tabletop paint. Your NMM on the shield is brilliant. I think you could add some dark lining, specially between the shirt and the belt; maybe it will also boost the "comics" effect.
