    Something I absolutely love about your videos is your use of music, and your smooth audio transitions for when you use your VO. OBVIOUSLY , your painting skills are amazing, but what I think really sets you apart from other content creators is your firm grasp on the A/V side of the house as well. Keep it up! I understand the technical difficulty and time investment required for making videos, and I am just letting you know your hard work is noticed and appreciated.

    Really, really great video and paint job. I am a pretty mediocre-decent painter and have been in miniatures on and off for 20 years. Wife commented my minis for Crisis Protocol were a bit lacking in depth of color as I was going for quickness. I decided Captain America would be my showpiece and followed your video almost to the letter. The result wasn't as good as yours, but you explained and showed all the relevant steps and the model ended up close enough that it's now the centerpiece of my collection. Thanks a TON for the work you put in.

    What amazes me is how he makes the brushstrokes disappear in the flat shading with a wet brush and yet uses the appearance of brushstrokes for making the metallic look like they have the metal grain effect. Truly impressive.

    This another amazing tutorial Mr S :-) I've been re-painting a LOT of old Marvel Heroclix figures for a while now, and using them in games at the club I attend, using the scaled down rules from the 32mm scale games, but I have to say, I love the look of these figures, and may start to collect the odd one that catches my attention, as I paint/game to a strict budget. I almost exploded with joy seeing the way you painted the shield, as that is something I want to learn to do myself, for other shield bearing super hero figures I've converted/sculpted myself. So thanks again for a magnificent tutorial, and I'll keep looking out for the new ones in this series as you upload them :-D

    Have you ever seen Lethal Weapon 4? That scene at the end where Jet Li is standing on the pier waiting to fight and Riggs says, "I mean, how did he do that thing with the gun? How the hell did he do that? Huh? How?"... That is how I feel even after I have seen you do it. That belt buckle literally turned into metal in front of my eyes and I am still not sure what I saw...

    Awesome for a tabletop paint. Your NMM on the shield is brilliant. I think you could add some dark lining, specially between the shirt and the belt; maybe it will also boost the "comics" effect.

    • @Sorastro
      @Sorastro  5 лет назад

      Thanks Julien! I personally felt that there was enough dark lining achieved through the way I chose to highlight the model (plus the use of the wash on the belt of course) but you certainly could add some black lining if you wanted to push for a more stylised, comic-book aesthetic if that's your thing. :)

    Great work as always! I think with my Cap, I'm going to go slightly darker blue to be more inline with the movie versions vs the comic, but holy crap that shield is incredible. I don't normally go for NMM, but I cant imagine a more perfect look for the shield.

    Congratulations on that shield. Wow. The figure looks amazing. I cannot wit to see what you do with Batman....no wait. I noticed you were using a series 8 now from Rosemary and Co. I stopped using series 33s a while back as they seemed to drop in consistency. The tip on your brush looked absolutely perfect. I may have to give the series 8 a shot.
