absolutely. started listening to them back in middle school cus the bassist went to our local art school and had my grandfather as a teacher when he was younger. major influence in the music i listen to today
Love this! Guitar lead Jack is in sleeping with sirens/jelly roll. Jake garland drummer in Memphis may fire & im in Hungoverband. We are all still friends haha
I love that he talks about the title and goes "so I'm assuming that's what the song has to do with" lol. Like my guy song names were 2 sentences long during that era that had absolutely nothing to do with the song itself 😂 brings back good memories
They were so underappreciated and underrated in the late 2000s post-hardcore. By the way, Craig Owens (former Chiodos singer) was featured in this song. Reasons of them breaking up weren't given but the stuff they released after Kingdoms, where this song comes from, is not equally good and entirely different I'd say.
man everyone always asks for saturday or dont jump the shark. am i the only one that thinks redeeming a monster is the best/ underrated song of the album??
They do have a song with Johnny Craig (former vocalist to DGD, Emarosa, Slaves) that slaps pretty hard lol “Don’t Jump The Shark Before You Save The Whale”
@@alexhennigh5242 of course lol “slaps” is a term of endearment. JC is one of the most unique cleans of these last few generations… which is ironic 🫣😏 but really, just pointing out that Johnny was on a track with these lads already.
Damn I totally forgot about this band! They were part of my high school years and got pretty familiar with them when they dropped by Dallas for gigs. Crazy that their guitarist is rocking in Sleeping with sirens, and drummer in Memphis may fire!
Check out a bunch of the big tracks from the "Kingdoms" album. It's a post-hardcore classic in my opinion, timeless! I'd recommend "Last Saturday" and "Don't Jump the Shark Before Your Save the Whale". "Gotta Love That Southern Charm" is a BANGER as well from these guys. Hope to see more of them soon Gibby! Thanks for the video
I recently found this song as it played on my Amazon Music "My Soundtrack" radio. Haven't stopped since...so amazing! Gives me some serious Saosin vibes!!!
that's crazy you are looking at this band.. theyre from this small era of music that was with adtr and paddock park from the city where im from so i saw misha in paddock park often.
The one guy I actually like doing these reactions.. one of so few that take the time with the music I grew up with and love to review it and give their honest opinion.. has now like my post. Thanks D gib.
"Kingdoms" by Broadway is one of the greatest albums to ever exist.

“Don’t Jump The Shark Before You Save The Whale”
Say what you will about Johnny but his vocals are unmatched

Broadway is a dope ass band! Craig Owens making an appearance in the song just adds to the awesomeness
This was my senior anthem in highschool. I fucking loved this band so much and was so sad they never created more music together :/
Damn I totally forgot about this band! They were part of my high school years and got pretty familiar with them when they dropped by Dallas for gigs.

WICKED underrated band. Also, mad respect for what you do. You make a genre of tired content extremely entertaining. Never change my dude.
Fun fact: the drummer in this band is now the drummer in Memphis may fire
And the guitarist played for Sleeping with Sirens
This song defined my high school emo life
It would be pretty sweet if you could one day make a GibbyGang certified spotify play list.
I recently found this song as it played on my Amazon Music "My Soundtrack" radio. Haven't stopped since...so amazing! Gives me some serious Saosin vibes!!!
Not gonna lie, that first vocal pitch, I thought it was a female lead vocalist 😂 impressive
You know about Broadway? Oh man you really went deep in the rabbit hole.
