It was a super emotional night at the Garden, mainly featuring the homecoming of Celtics great, Marcus Smart, as our C’s did an absolute WICKED 40-POINT THRASHING on the injury-plagued Memphis [G-League] Grizzlies as we didn't play down to our competition this time, & that's definitely a good sign, so we like seeing that. The now-5-TIME all-star, Jayson Tatum (34 PTS, 8 REB, 7 AST, 1 STL), led the way as usual, as he knocked down more good shots & made much better plays overall than last game. Kristaps Porzingis (26 PTS, 8 REB, 2 AST, 1 STL, 2 BLK), the big man that Boston acquired from the 3-team Marcus Smart trade, keeps on doing what he does best in winning those ball battles for the rebounds & making much of a better inside impact for the C’s. He really continues to show why trading for the Latvian Unicorn was definitely an excellent move for Boston back in the off-season. Derrick White (15 PTS, 3 REB, 3 AST, 1 STL, 1 BLK) definitely bounced back into his All-Star form with his tough playmaking on both sides of the parquet. Al Horford (11 PTS, 5 REB, 2 AST, 2 STL), who stepped in for Jaylen Brown, & Jrue Holiday (7 PTS, 3 REB, 4 AST, 1 STL) executed their roles nicely. Off the bench, both Sam Hauser (3 PTS, 3 REB, 1 AST) & Payton Pritchard (6 PTS, 2 REB, 3 AST, 1 STL) didn't really show up from downtown, as they went for a combined 1-9 from 3, but at least they did contribute pretty well in other ways. Luke Kornet (2 PTS, 8 REB, 1 AST, 1 BLK) was good at rebounding off the glass, but that was pretty much it for him. Neemias Queta (8 PTS, 8 REB, 2 STL, a PERFECT 4-4 FG) has done it again, showing off his signature athleticism and activeness as a big man! That's our Portuguese Man Of War right there! He's definitely still in that roster battle with Kornet for that 3rd-string center spot for sure. Oshae Brissett (6 PTS, 3 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL), Svi Mykhailiuk (6 PTS, 2 REB, 3 AST, 2-3 from 3), & Lamar Stevens (5 PTS, 2 REB) also did solid as well well. Dalano Banton (0 PTS, 1 REB, 2 AST), was Mr. left-out in points, but that doesn't really matter, as he also did contribute on the court in other ways. And how could we forget about the 19-year-old Arkansas Alien himself, Jordan Walsh (2 PTS, 1 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL)!? In his 3rd NBA game, HE KICKED OFF HIS SCORIN' CAREER WITH A BANG with 8:03 left in the 4th with a chargin’ 2-handed jam! And not only that, he notched his 2nd career assist and his 1ST CAREER STEAL to put the cherry on top of the cake for Boston! If Walsh improves from this point, the NBA will surely be put on notice by that very young man. What a WICKED dominant way for our C's to bounce back for our 1st W of February & improve to 38-12 this season (23-3 at home) as we complete the season series SWEEP against Memphis 🧹 & improve to 3-2 in our 7-game home stand!
