The reason they didn't bring the AWD Dual motor over here is why I left this at the door. Kia have a big following here, so why they skimped on the models available is perplexing. Look at Hyundai. No such issues.

Too bad you don't get the awd version. Going 0-60 in 4.5 seconds never gets old. Best car I've ever owned.

You said it in the video. People have a price they are willing to pay for a car and if a car is above that price it is not considered. I prefer the ev6 to the Y but I also like €10000 a hell of a lot. Is the spartan dash of the Y beginning to look OK to me.... not yet but I'm wavering.

I just picked up one of these (same spec and colour) yesterday. I already love the car, even if it's a bit slower off the mark than my previous VW Golf GTE.
I can understand the lack of AWD models in Ireland. Most drivers are so slow off the line that the extra acceleration is wasted. Plus the EV charging infrastructure still isn't great and the extra range makes more sense than the ability to drag race at the lights.
Derek: I believe I live about 100m NW of you. If you see one of these driving around the neighbourhood, it's quite likely going to be me.

How’s the range on motorway?
@@doorrob I've done one trip up and down the M11 with cruise control on 118km/h most of the way. That was around 240km and I think I had around 120km range left when I got home.
From what I understand, I would have got a decent amount of extra range if I had kept my speed closer to 100.

I believe a model refresh (facelift) is due later this year...........I really hope they up that single motor to 280 - 300ps because I wouldn't consider paying 65k for that level of performance, even though the car itself is fantastic.
KIA need to rethink the pricing (because of Tesla)

HEY DEREK, any chance of you doing some used car tests, people do care about depreciation, running cost , dealer customer service, insurance cost s , my sons ID3 has eaten its tyres after 20,000klms, his battery is less efficient and he worried if he goes to trade in it will be worth buttons, another quality video , you should be onthe tele
Rubbish. I’ve done 30k in an id4 and it’s fine. Battery degradation in a car that new is a myth.

Love this car , unfortunately I couldn’t get one , Kia dealer told me they don’t care about the Irish market as it’s not worth fuck all in the bigger scheme of things . Anyway I got a new LR model 3 for 51k , ( ordered jan 31st ) a bargain compared to the Kia , and the efficiency is class leading . Not to mention the performance .
Yes they did have supply issues for a while. Back in stock now and the Tesla offering is definitely compelling to a lot of buyers

Dummy engine cover! I sat in the Byd Seal and XPeng P7 the other day. The Seal cabin quality is amazing and will give the GT6 serious competition @ around €55k Thanks for the review.

Mmmmmm I so can’t wait for the seal to land in Ireland to see one in the metal. As far as I know it’s still not here even as a display model. Am I wrong? Is there one in Cork or even Dublin. I’m gagging to see it.

Why on earth would you want to use Apple Carplay of Android Auto? The Heads-up display will not fully work and I have to say they are horrible anyway. I have the AWD version on its way (UK) and I won't be enabling any fo that nonsense.

With the Y cheaper and the same size but better yse of the space abd the charging youd hqve to really want the slightly nicer interior
