Ashley! I jacked in my window cleaning job 4 weeks ago. Watching your videos was a huge part of this. The way you carry yourself with every aspect of your business made me think I can do it. Was helping a chap build his round before and running all his social media as he knew I was good at that and now I’m flat out and got good people around me. Gotta jump into it head first and make it work. All I want to do is be successful.
Great videos ash, I'm from Australia & information on widow cleaning here is mainly online & im a visual person so videos like yours are great source of information ,I've even got my workmates tuning in on your videos ,a lot of people think window cleaning is a dead end job but they dont understand the skills required to do it properly, thanks for the tips & tricks that you have learned along the way i enjoy the videos keep them coming mate ,cheers 👍🇦🇺
That’s great, thanks! I’ve never had any other job, I don’t think I could ever work for someone else now. I love being able to take my business in any direction I want and having the freedom to be flexible. Thanks for your comments. I’m glad you find the channel useful. Keep up the good work!😃👍🏼
Hi, Ashley here from Down Under it's hard at the beginning of everything .... !!!! Great! I’m glad you find my channel useful! There was no social media back then when I started. If I was starting up now, I might do things slightly differently?😃👍🏼
Do you ever use clips, when you use your ergotecs ? And do you prefer the plus Channel over the standard ? And what size you use the most ? I like my 35cm, so versatile, but in the video it looks like a couple 45cm?
You can use end clips if you like, it’s up to your personal preference I suppose. I used to use the s-plus channel a lot but I prefer the straight channel with the new green rubber at the moment.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh i know its up to personal preference, but im asking if YOU use clips ever ? What combo you fancy today ? Still ergotec or you gone another route ? Ninja etc ? :-) I gotta try that green rubber ! Damn. How is it on the cold / snow ? Bleeding ?

Evenings are probably best. I used to go out all day. I knew then if people were in during the day, they were likely to be there when I came to clean the windows.😃👍🏼
I've just been made redundant from my position withing the offshore oil and gas industry, my wife is due to give birth in December and I'm just starting up on my own as a window cleaner. I have around 3 weeks before I start, and I'm hoping to have 50 customers for when I do, at least that'll pay a bit of my bills, then gain more each month until I'm covering everything. It's stressful with the unknown, but exciting too. Do you think 50 customers in 3 weeks is reasonable to achieve starting out?
I love your story, brother. Excellent work. Been at it 11 years here in the states. Felt a bit reckless at times too, like you said. Wife and kids and no customers... crazy times those early years! Bless you my brother and thank you for all the great vids and content!

Window Washing is a real good hustle and pays quite well.. almost anyone can start doing it with not much startup cost or overhead and in pretty sure almost anyone can learn to clean windows well lol
Still the best a,Unger or ettori metal. number one, 36 years window cleaning still happy with the sqeegy but the clips at the end no good anymore. And now my knee as gone arthritis. To much ladder work in London, hate reach and wash especially 40ft
A,E Could you please help me,i thinking of starting off,got a Phantom 25 feet water fed pole, and the unger ultra, plus trad tools, the Moerman Exelelerator kit, also lucky enough to get a sheltered housing complex to do,my first job,So today, got nervous ,but determined to give it a go,once there set up the waterfed pole with the ultra, but the windows, where hydrophilic, and would have taken me a week to clean, lol, plus the seals also leaking and running black deposit's ,so stress kicked in,now i have to do the traditional way,but scared of heights,so going to do it by the pole, they only one up,i have practiced over and over my own house, with the Exelerator on my pole, but keep getting lines and juttering,as cannot find the right angle for my squegee, going back there tomorrow again, and hopefully you could give me some advice,i a bit late getting into, this industry,as i am 62 yrs old,but still fit,and i only doing it to help towards my pension.so would be truly grateful for some tips thank you.A.E.
I prefer the Excelerator with an Unger s-plus channel, or you could try a straight channel with a soft rubber and put a little soap directly on the applicator. Those windows on a first clean, sounds like they could do with a little chemical treatment first if you are using water fed pole. I made a video called How To Clean Really Dirty Windows, that will show you the method. If I were you, stick to the water fed pole method. The first time will be tough going, but it will get easier with each visit. I hope that helps.😃👍🏼

That’s great, thanks! I’ve done a few first cleans recently where you get this milky water running off the frames and the black coming off the seals. The Razr wash should be good. Give it some of that and a couple of cleans down the line you will be flying.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh thanks ,,, I am just starting off doing traditional work and wondering about ladders. I can see the pros to using a pointed ladder , but there’s a lot to be said for a standard ladder with mitts so I use a stand off. Small motor car , I can only carry one set !
Different guys will have their own preferences, but I think that many don’t realise that most of the time with a point ladder you should position it half way up the window on the corner of the wall to the side. This means that you’re never balancing dangerously at the top but you can hold on easily and you’re in a much better position to clean the window without stretching.👍🏼
