" Unchained Melody " has over 1.9 million views in just over 5 weeks. & next month she is off to Tokyo for her live concert. So our Lucy is busy for awhile. Take care, Barbara

Elegant, luxurious & a bunch of words like that! Have always loved this song but hearing Lucy's version just amazes me every time! I know its a cover - but this, to me is a modern masterpiece! Thanks Juliet! Oh yea - it was fun too.
Hi Juliet. I remember this song being played on the Armed Forces radio in Vietnam. The lyrics of this song makes zero sense but neither did much else during that period. Lucy just killed this song. She is just so talented. I have never heard such a beautiful voice in my life and I’ve been around a while. Juliet thank you so much for your continued support and wonderful reactions of Lucy’s voice. I always look forward to reviews. Please stay safe, healthy, and free.
Hi juliet, thank you so much for yet another fantastic reaction to our lovely Lucy. I feel like I’m learning something new everytime I watch your reactions, singing technics, vocals, high & low notes, ect. And I just LOVE watching you react to Lucy’s music and share the exitements and adorations to her and also learn just how great an artist she actually is from a professional music coach perspective. I couldn’t agree with you more, she is simply flawless😍 I hope you will do a reaction to Lucy’s latest release witch is «One Moment in time» soon. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts about that masterpiece.
Must have been potent stuff they smoked in 1967. Agree with everything you said especially the warmth of her low range. It gets warmer with every new song. Love your reaction as always. Pls do One moment in time also.
Love both Lucy’s performance and your reaction Juliet, thanks! Btw I saw Procol Harum sing this live in 1968 a few months after it was No 1 in the UK charts for six weeks in 1967
Hi Juliette, I'm with you. I miss Lucy's smile when I watch this video too. The rest of it is typical Lucy perfection. One Moment In Time was posted by Lucy, and you really need to listen to it.
Hi Juliet as you know I'm a big PJ fan and Lucy fan. I was so disappointed that PJ cancelled their London show and I didn't get to see them. I do however have tickets to Lucy's concert on 22nd October in London. It would be great if you could make it to see her West End debut
Juliet - that was lovely - thank you for that analysis. Appropriate to the song. Most reactors fumble it - perhaps deer in the headlights? I suspect your reaction dance card is full. However, it would be a shame if you missed Lucy’s cover of Whitney Houston’s ‘One Moment in Time’ while it is time appropriate. Whitney released it for the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Great reaction Juliet! You're the best! You are the only vocal coach reactor that I will watch more than once. This is so, so beautiful.... What I do like about Lucy (and Angelina Jordan and Emma Kok as well): they "mean business" from as soon as they starts to sing the first note. And, maybe even more important, to draw us in the emotions they want to convey to us. They are absolute masters in that department:they are not "just" singing the songs, they recite the songs. As Emma told a year ago in a interview: "I try to let the audience feel inside what I feel inside when I sing it". Well, you know at first hand how true that is.... And I have no doubt: here it is the same what happens: We got to feel what Lucy is feeling inside.
It’s much older than the 90’s. I remember this song being played by the Arm Forces radio in Vietnam. The lyrics makes zero sense but neither did a lot of things during that time. Similar to today. Stay safe, healthy, and free.
@@jimivison5837 Well the Annie Lennox cover of this song was in the early 90's so makes sense that the production doesn't sound dissimilar to that version.

Yes, great reaction as usual. As someone has already mentioned, it would be interesting to get your reaction to Lucy's live version of Etta Jaames " At Last", from her Manchester concert.. It showcases Lucy's smokey voice. She really is brilliant at every genre she performs. Also Lucy's rendition of "One moment in time" has nearly 512K views in just 11 days on RUclips. As usual she crushes it BUT you don't get the smile. However you do get the classic smile at the end of "Unchained Melody" , which in my opinion is better than the original. E
See that's what i mean by just getting up and belting out the song how it was intended to sound no warbling on notes no screeching just pure voice and charisma.
Totally agree with all your comments, Lucy is one of the best singers on the planet at this moment in time..... Thanks as always for your review and I look forward to the next one.
Since we are getting off of "main stream" Lucy, how about reacting to "The CLimb" which is a duet with Martha. It is even more "up tempo" and just seems to be a perfect fit for them as a duet. The rhythm, the beat and the tempo just seems to be right in their "wheelhouse", as if they performed this type of pop song all the time. And Martha really brings her "A Game" to this one. I promise you will have tons of things to point out and react to. I was never really a fan of the song......until I heard them do it. Just a superb job by both Lucy and Martha.
Juliet, you're really wound up for this one. Lucy didn't let you (or me) down. right out-of-the-gate, as soon as Lucy began singing your eye brows popped, a smile came on your face, and out came Wooh! I notice that Lucy did some ornamentation on some words. Ex: "fandango" she put a little drop down at the end of the word. Then twice on "later" she went up. I had heard this melody in the Sandra Bullock film "The Net". But this video is amazing. As usual Lucy's voice and breath control really shines here. It's so smooth and pleasing, and restful. The ballerina is also very chill and restful. Although you (and I ) like the smile at the end, I think it might not have fit on this rendition.
Hi Juliet. Nice analysis as usual. It’s funny that when I 1st heard Lucy sing this, I noticed her beautiful lower register. Then I noticed how the word “lonely” sounded so good in that register. And that happened again a few months ago when Sydnie Christmas sang “Tomorrow”. Again, that word “lonely” sounded so good in her lower register. Is the word “LONELY’ such a powerful word when it’s sung in the singer’s lower register?
i love this song from Lucy great direction from Chris Broom with the ballet dancer in the background . i love your comments as always informative . have you reacted to One Moment In Time an astoniishing cover from Lucy Thomas in my opinion her best to date

You won't be disappointed of course. Thanks Juliet. xx
Hey Juliet, when are you going to react to more of Lucy's live performances at her Manchester concert. You were so looking forward to seeing them BUT as far as I know, you've only reacted to One " Hallelujah" what about "At Last," "Somewhere" and "We can change the world". ???

Hi Juliet Great reaction to Lucy´s version of this iconic song .Definitely the Annie Lenox version although as always Lucy has made it her own. The inclusion of the Ballerina was a brilliant move it adds to the overall theme and brings it together .Lucy´s beautiful low register is very evident in this song and of course as you say how much better can she get .Well we had Unchained Melody and Now We have "One Moment in Time" which is in the stratosphere .you really must react to it and you will see what we all mean. here is a link to it ruclips.net/video/eArlEsmEYrU/видео.htmlsi=hgEtH1RcP-YypFXI Thanks for your continued support for Lucy. Hi Juliet, I love Lucy (pun intended) she’s to my ear a lovely singer. Beautiful reaction/analysis. Before I found Lucy I found Tori. So I’m going to see if you want to discover another VOICE. The song cover should tell you everything. Here’s Tori Holub (Ha Lubb) singing lead/backing, the producer of this video and he does soooo much is James Wilkas (read the credits at the end). The song is We’ve Only Just Begun, originally by Carpenters. They went there. Enjoy and as Jim states, buckle your seat belt! Joe ruclips.net/video/J95lfJqo9VY/видео.htmlsi=MUQ8RvqAj1J2gF6n . Edit: I realized you don’t know Tori from Eve. So let me link an unrelated Short video that shows you she can actually sing. It’s nothing like the full video I linked above so no spoiler. Also notice her brand new microphone! 😊 U87. Gee who’s famous for using one? “Sam” ruclips.net/user/shortsWzrpXaZKT7Y?si=sRsG6LpEXIxVyh01 .
Juliet, Lucy used her vibrato masterfully here. In many renditions she holds a note then adds vibrato as it trails off. Here she seems to be hitting the note with vibrato to begin with and then as the note trails off her vibrato decreases too. Just thought that juxtaposition of the note and vibrato made this one a little different. There's no end to what Lucy can do.
Another excellent performance from Lucy, nice low register and a very nicely put together video. But I think I still just prefer the Annie Lennox version by a small margin. While I don’t think Annie can match Lucy’s technical skills, I feel the extra years in her voice, and with more life experiences to call on, allows her to sell the song’s melancholy slightly better. I also don’t think the application of voice effects was quite as well done with this recording as it was with Annie’s.
Annie Lennox was probably my favourite female vocalist of all time that's until Lucy Thomas came along, I actually prefer Lucy's version her tones have more depth and sound warmer I wasn't actually as keen on Annie Lennox singing this song as some of her own material "Why" is still her masterpiece.
Too artificial for my ears. They not done one note or two, almost all notes in the song sound like a machine is hitting them. Awful....I wanna hear her voice.
no one is forcing you. you do not like..go listen more of your favorites. For your info , she started to do live concerts, and she sang with the same voice.
Hi JamieGray, listen to live recordings of Lucy or better yet, if you have the chance, go to the concert in London in October. Believe me it's worth it, a fantastic live voice
it's a studio version all studio produced songs sound this way maybe with the exception of Ed Sheeran. You can hear her voice if you so desire because she has done her first live concert in Manchester.
@@mikeyitfc You are so wrong. A lot of music studio produced are minimal on it and some they don't even use pitch corrections. Depends on the artist and how much they need it. Then there is enhancements and the normal stuff that is not cheating in my opinion. It makes the track sound better. But pitch correction is a cheat and it is displayed here in every note, not just one or two where there was a mistake. If I was a super fan of Lucy I will try to make this known so producers stop doing this. So please get it right, not all studio produced sound this way, this is fully pitch corrected, every note. So this obviously does not make me to even attempt to go to a live concert of hers, because maybe I will be treated with a miming performance. Wouldn't be surprised.
@@JamieGray524I have watched a lot of reactions to Lucy’s music, many of them vocal coaches like Juliet. You are entitled to your opinion but I will believe the people with history in teaching singing over some random person. Unless , of course, you can give me your background in music so I will know if your opinion is based on your actual skills and experience in the music industry or on you just not liking what you are hearing. Nothing wrong in saying you don’t like it, but putting unproven comments into your response is just childish. Have a good day.

By the way you have a troll at the bottom of the feed.
Lucy has a new video out. “One Moment In Time “. ????
Hi Juliet,
I love Lucy (pun intended) she’s to my ear a lovely singer.

Edit:
I realized you don’t know Tori from Eve. So let me link an unrelated Short video that shows you she can actually sing. It’s nothing like the full video I linked above so no spoiler. Also notice her brand new microphone! 😊 U87. Gee who’s famous for using one?

Juliet, Lucy used her vibrato masterfully here. In many renditions she holds a note then adds vibrato as it trails off. Here she seems to be hitting the note with vibrato to begin with and then as the note trails off her vibrato decreases too. Just thought that juxtaposition of the note and vibrato made this one a little different. There's no end to what Lucy can do.
Hello Juliet could you please check out (one moment in time )by Lucy Thomas I'm more than confident you will enjoy the experience --- Sean (UK) x
Hi, SB19 performed Kalakal (feat Gloc 9 yesterday. Hope you check it out
Annie Lennox was probably my favourite female vocalist of all time that's until Lucy Thomas came along, I actually prefer Lucy's version her tones have more depth and sound warmer I wasn't actually as keen on Annie Lennox singing this song as some of her own material "Why" is still her masterpiece.
Juliet could you please also check out (Always remember us this way) Also by Lucy Thomas --- Sean (UK) x
