As soon as that album came out, Little Wing became one of my all time favorites. It's definitely a must learn song. Very poetic and other worldly, it's like astral projection because you're someplace other than earth. But first...Are you "experienced"? Have you ever been "experienced"? Well I have, and that may be the reason that I feel this way about this song. Purple Haze, all in my brain, maybe things don't seem the same.
Kinda crazy that I looked up “what makes little wing special” and Marty, almost knowingly, has already made a video about this precise thing a month ago 🤯 I know, it’s a legendary song so it’s a hot topic, but still. I’m glad something like this exists. Thanks, Marty!
Another riff that belongs in the Magical Feelings category. Enjoyed your All Along the Watchtower vid but would have liked the beginning 12 bars. Been Playing it for decades but seldom hit all the notes that he played flawlessly. Thanks Marty, back to the Classics🍀
Fantastic video and it really clears things up and demystifies the song a lot. Thank you so much. Would love to see some 'Exteme'. Those new songs are fire.
I loved it because of the same reason I love Pearl Jam's Yellow Ledbetter, which always reminded me of a chilled Hendrix style riff, because they both hit me square in the soul and stayed there.
Marty, I love your videos. I grew up watching them and now my daughter is watching them as well. I feel like the musical torch has been passed to the next generation. Thanks Marty!!
i appreciate very much your lessons on riffs, specially little wings of hendrix. i confess that even i've been warching so many time the same transcribtinon of hendrix solo, even so i can't grasp the logic behind the hendrix style and his tricks to remember easily the solo. he could play solo and melody while playing chord progression. so i think imho he didnt played straight pentatonic,. i've noted that if i do so it sound if i played notes casually. so he choose notes carefully and everyone can hear the melody. now, imho i've noted that the solo notes hendrix play on Em pentatonic change while the chord progression goes on, but he don't play a scale, or only an arpeggio he includes the melody, and that's totally a different thing in my opinion. anyway i always like to watch your instructive and inspiring videos.
Marty, please keep this series going (hopefully with some dead tunes) it's really helpful . I'm way too lazy to tune my Strat down a half step, it screws up my floating tremolo. I get why you did it to maintain continuity to your Little Wing lesson and the original Hendrix version but remember your audience......old lazy guys who hate getting off the sofa :) glad to see you're still providing quality content. Bret
Another great video on riff theory. And yes, Jimmy was incredible. We lost another incredible musician recently with Gordon Lightfoot’s passing. I would love for you to pay tribute to him with some tutorials on some of his best known works. Thanks, and keep on doing what you doing! 🎼🎸🎶
Such an iconic riff from the man himself! Hey Marty, could you please do some video lessons + tutorials on some Eminem songs (like ‘Till I Collapse, Without Me, and The Real Slim Shady), as well as some more Britney Spears songs (like (You Drive Me) Crazy, Oops!… I Did It Again, and …Baby One More Time)? Thanks man. Keep up the great work brother!
Hello Mr. Schwartz I just wanted to thank you I have learned so much from you and I have never thank you … your channel means a lot to me and has showed me how to play so many songs at that campfire lol . I do play many instruments but have not mastered one lol anyway thank you so much for your knowledge !!!
After working through the Hendrix inspired course this seems to be a lot easier to learn then befor, thanks heaps Marty the lessons have been great. Check out the song “take it away” by L.A.B , a local band here in New Zealand , it’s a very Hendrixy riff which I think you’ll like, be awesome if you could do a lesson on it
Hi there! I made a deal with my neighbor that if I get good between 6 months and a year with a guitar he will by me any guitar I want! I was wondering since I love heavy metal bands like Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden and Metallica and Eddie Van Halen and more should I get an EVH electric guitar If I succeed in the deal? My friend says I should get that if I like heavy metal. Does anyone have any other ideas with a reason? Thanks!
Marty, would you please teach “Closed On Sunday” by Kanye West on the acoustic. I can’t find a tutorial that breaks the picking pattern down sufficiently. I have searched and searched. I need your help. Here’s a great tutorial, the picking pattern is what I need help with. You’re the best at breaking down and instructing in the best way. Thank you Marty! You’re the best there is! ruclips.net/video/QsZkkq8tbXY/видео.html

I’ve always said that you can feel so much emotion come out of that one riff.
It's true. That sound is nostalgic
I tried to play guitar for 20 years - and I sucked at it for 20 years …then I found you- you are my GOD… man love for you brother…
I love the riff theory stuff its what was missing from the regular lessons so we can can really gain knowledge from learning these songs

Jimi’s masterpiece. If he had lived, imagine what he would have done!
Well, if that's his masterpiece, I guess it wouldn't have mattered! 😅😊😮😢
I can watch my favorite guitar teacher talk about my favorite riff for hours. Keep it up Marty!
Hendrix is always good for a lesson.thank you.
That’s the emotion zone! The One Song memories are made of! Thank You Jimi! Marty you my friend, are the man!

16:45 Reassuring to know that we all feel like that!

Well she's walking...through the clouds..and the progression he gave us...is so wild👍🏻
Probably my favourite Hendrix song, SRV did a killer cover as well
Fantastic video and it really clears things up and demystifies the song a lot. Thank you so much.
Would love to see some 'Exteme'. Those new songs are fire.
this is a really cool exploration of style, the major chords relationship to relative minor and soloing over chord changes . thank you
I loved it because of the same reason I love Pearl Jam's Yellow Ledbetter, which always reminded me of a chilled Hendrix style riff, because they both hit me square in the soul and stayed there.
Enjoyed that. Great teaching style.
Loving these riff theory videos!
Marty you’re the hardest working most dedicated teacher on RUclips. Maybe the world. Thank you for keepin us all rockin
Had to watch. Learned how to play Little Wing from Marty years ago. Launched my guitar playing to a new level.
First of all, that's a beautiful and awesome Strat.
Second, im so glad Jimi wrote this song for Stevie.
Marty, I love your videos. I grew up watching them and now my daughter is watching them as well. I feel like the musical torch has been passed to the next generation. Thanks Marty!!
This is easily one of the most informative and enjoyable pieces of guitar content I've seen, I'm showing this to my dad
Oh man I can’t wait to get started on this one!!!
SRV version has always been my preference. Thanks Marty
Nice job Marty.
Marty always brings a smile to my face. A beacon of light in this dark world :)

Hey Marty, great, cool stuff! Really nice seeing you again last night at the Bitter End!! Loved the concert! All the best. God bless..
Loving these riff lessons Marty, I appreciate learning songs but I personally gain more from lessons like these. Thanks Marty!
Amazing lesson. Thank you!
Another great video on riff theory. And yes, Jimmy was incredible. We lost another incredible musician recently with Gordon Lightfoot’s passing. I would love for you to pay tribute to him with some tutorials on some of his best known works.

🎼🎸🎶
Hey Marty, thank you for the Hendrix Little Wing riff theory vid. Really enjoyed it!
Mahalo Marty!!! Little Wing on of the greatest!!! I think his live version from Hendrix in the West is probably the best
Marty this is best! I love this lesson structure . I found it super informative thanks for all the videos over the years
I feel ya about the short fingers it's tuff😂😂😂😅

Always loved this song!
Favorite part of the day is watching some Marty
The Greatest chord progression of all time
*The* greatest of all time
Love the breakdown. Now if only I can get my brain and fingers to cooperate I too can play like Hendrix! Well almost. 😂
Hey, Jimi, how many chords you wanna put in this one?
Jimi: "Go ahead and do all of em." 😅
Excelente Marty, cómo siempre!! A pesar q no domino tu idioma me sirve mucho éste tutorial para desarrollar, entender y dominar ésta técnica. Abrazo 🫂
Acid brings some crazy creativity 😅
So inspiring, thank you 👌😎
Best lessons
Thanks Marty.
Just thanks!
Love it .
To me also. But SRV version
Nice lesson. Thank you for breaking it all down so clearly. Did you hear the penny (in my brain) dropping? :-) Thanks again!!
Marty, can you share the signal chain on this please?
Thanks!
Instead of marty music, we're going to call you marty magic!
It's is such a great riff McCready ripped it off for Yellow Led Better.
Nice one
love it. nice
Could you please do a guitar lesson on nanana by my chemical romance
Hey Marty - What year is that Strat?
Could you do a guitar lesson on a Iron butterfly song
could you do a video on Cities by Throttle?
I’m the27th like. Great musician. So are you Marty.
Can you teach how to play the solo in black sheep by metric
Can you do a lesson on Left behind by slipknot
😊
🎉🎉🎉

I'm late to be first.
Time for Marty in the Morning!
432 or 440?
Do you know a guy named Sal? You totally look like his brother.

Stevie ray Vaughn played it better my opinion
So you think a cover version is better than the original rendition by the artist who actually composed the song?
@@geoffpatch8255it can be, but i disagree on this one
Im early 😂
Jimi Hendrix made Marty mckendrick's better than Jimmy❤¿
Wow 🤩 what a great lesson Marty!
