Humanity has already lost the opportunity to prevent climate change. The lock down showed that carbon emissions could be significantly minimised due to everyone staying home. Now that it's lifted, it's back to business as usual and the pollution from vehicles and what-not is returning. Some opportunities only come knocking once.

They will probably use the easy solution when it has gone really really far, but until then they will try to take advantage of it as much as possible.

Carbon is the next most common element in the human body, making up 18% of the body by mass. Its role is mostly structural, forming the “backbone” of many organic molecules. Our climate has trace amounts of different gases....including C02.....C02 makes up only 0.04% of the Troposphere....that's only 4 one hundredths of ONE percent.(very small amount) If we lower that to 0.02%....? All plant life on the Earth will die and that means every living thing will die. Climate change "Protesters" are uneducated and probably all failed science class....yet if our Administration lowers the C02 level just 2 one hundredths of that single percent....well.....you tell me. extremely Cold global temperatures means water moving less, less rainfall or snow resulting less ocean water and fresh water moving to land filling the lakes, valleys and deserts. Warm temperatures causes water to migrates more easily from the ocean to land reducing the amount of water in the ocean. Ice melting only adds more water to the ocean that is constantly finding its way to land. A climb in water levels will go down. Rock and lava can displace water and raise it levels. Islands take up space.

  • @SuperHone12
    @SuperHone12 6 месяцев назад

The complexity of the Earth's climate system makes predicting long-term temperature changes and controlling climate change extremely difficult. The small increase in global temperatures over the last 60 years suggests a slower rate of change than is often portrayed.
Misconceptions about the proportion of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, such as the belief that it makes up over half of the Earth's atmosphere, can fuel irrational fears and misunderstandings about the actual impact of CO2.
The use of graphical representations to illustrate the proportion of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere helps clarify that CO2 is only a minor component, challenging the narrative that its increase is leading to catastrophic changes.
Assertions made by the media that scientists or organizations like NASA or the IPCC have provided definitive evidence of climate change impacts often lack direct sources or context, making it difficult to verify or challenge their claims.
The scientific method relies on the possibility of disproving hypotheses. However, long-term climate predictions often cannot be tested within a reasonable timeframe, making them less like scientific theories and more like untestable predictions.
The increase in plant biomass and agricultural yields observed with higher CO2 levels and warmer temperatures indicates that climate change could have beneficial effects, which contradicts the predominantly negative portrayal in media narratives.
The broad application of net-zero emissions goals may not consider the regional disparities in emissions changes, such as the increase in Asia compared to decreases in other regions, suggesting that a one-size-fits-all approach to climate policy may be misguided.
The focus on sensationalized climate disaster stories in the media often ignores the statistical context that shows a decrease in climate-related deaths over the past century, which indicates that technology and adaptation are effectively mitigating risks.😁

Deserts flood when there are sudden rainstorms. Always have, always will. The scorched earth of the deserts will never be able to absorb the water generated by thunderstorms. It happens all over the world's deserts. I see it every year here in America's Mojave Desert where it floods every year during the brief monsoon we get every summer. Low areas flood. Sheets of water travel all over the surface. This is NOT climate change.

So we've experienced 1.2 degrees warming since before the industrial revolution. What happened when it was 5 degrees warmer in the last interglacial? And 5 to 10 degrees warmer during the Jurassic period? Carbon Dioxide was about 4 times greater then. What makes it so bad now? Is it "bad carbon" now and was it "good carbon" back then? And why is the map covered in blacks and reds? Is this really needed to show temperature differences or is it just to try to scare people? Sorry for all the questions good people but I really think we are being hogwashed here.

Nobody is really serious about climate change unless we really seriously look at nuclear as an option for power. Obviously for generators and other portable power systems we use something else. But nuclear is wayyyy better than it ever has been. Safer by a lot too.

    • @ZennExile

you couldn't be more delusionally wrong. Climate Change is as the result of consolidation and Industrialization of our Agriculture system. It does not matter where our energy comes from until we stop destroying all Life on Earth to pretend human life can be sustained separate from natural ecosystems. It can't. We've always known this. But your greed and the greed of your parents and grandparents prevent common sense from winning out.
Nuclear energy only puts more power in fewer hands. Quite literally. And that dependence model is the catalyst to the carbon crisis.
The only way to get "really serious about climate change" is to move out of the cities and suburbs, back to small farms, and start processing organic waste back into living soil and a living ecosystem.
Everything else you have been told or come to believe is a lie you tell yourself, and the media reinforces, to prevent the reality of this situation from dawning on your tiny echo chamber isolated perspective. Dirt Farmers are the solution to climate change. Not technology. Not the advancements in energy concentration or storage. Plain old waste management and unskilled human labor is the only actual solution.
Every minute of your carbon gluttonous and fully dependent life required a fixed amount of carbon. Every minute of a natural farmers life reduces atmospheric carbon by pulling it out of the air and storing it in living ecosystems and eventual under the lower meter line of soil where microbial life dies off. (this is the reverse of pulling oil out of the ground and burning it)
Get Woke. And I mean the kinda woke where you stop living in a manufactured dream created to placate the masses and establish permanent control through permanent dependence.

But those same people never mention how absurdly expensive nuclear plants which may be the biggest reason hardly any are being built today. The cost of the new two Vogtle units in Georgia are now estimated to cost 34 BILLION $$!!
And all that talk of thorium reactors has produced nothing as of yet. The talk of small reactors to fill smaller markets is still just talk. If nuclear is so much better than the alternatives then why is nothing new being presented as a better option??

Great points, when I was young the US was on the way to switching to nuclear power then 3 mile island happened and at the same time a movie called the China Syndrome was in theaters. After that nuclear was dead in the US. It was protested to death by environmentalist who really didn't care about the science. Ironically it is now considered green energy again. If we had made the switch in the 70's we would have hundreds of gigatons less CO2 in the atmosphere.

And then... major bigtime EMP. And then... eventual nuclear meltdowns of all the reactors and spent fuel pools as they lose their cooling systems. The planet will be quickly radiation sterilized from pole to pole.
Fun fact... No one survives. Not anyone anywhere. Everyone dies. And that's that. End of story.
Fun fact... There are hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of nuclear reactors and spent fuel pools.
Fun fact... It is 100% inevitable that the planet will be in the wrong place at the wrong time for a CME/EMP.
Fun fact... nuclear war is hardly even worth mentioning compared to nuclear meltdowns.
Fun fact... A bomb goes boom and that's all the radiation it will ever produce. But meltdowns produce and spew out enormous amounts of new radioactive particles next to forever.
Fun fact... You won't enjoy dying from radiation sickness even the least little bit.
Fun fact... Every day that goes by has become one day less to global meltdown radiation oblivion.
The existence of the many, many, many hundreds of nuclear reactors and spent fuel pools and the loss of their cooling systems will be the Final Word as to What Will Be What.

People Power has the potential to:
    Make cheap clean power anywhere,
    Reduce most unemployment anywhere,
Eliminate poverty through stored energy sales anywhere.
    First what is people power?
Power out from a storm or disaster?
There's People Power, any low tech solution that would bring power to any stricken area where people are. Wind and water turn wheels to make power, but so can people. Yes it can be stored ahead of time. Yes it's portable. Yes it's inexpensive. Yes it's good for the environment. Yes it's safe.
People Power, free power in any emergency, anywhere there are people.
    Next...
People Power not only could make energy in an emergency power outage, but that type of low tech could also store energy for future use. That stored energy could be kept for backup, used in that area, or transfered and sold somewhere else.
We also know that there are places in the world where many people need work. Why not combine the two. Out of work people could be hired to use their physical power to make energy. They would not need much training, and virtually any healthy adult could do it full time or part time.
Next the extra money generated, could be used to buy solar panels to augment their revenues.
What we must insure is that these workers are paid a fair, honest wage, and treated well. This can never be forced labor.
Sum up: This is clearly a win win for everyone: Healthy power, many new unskilled jobs, and the end of poverty anywhere in the world, all in a new power industry.

Here in the U.S. it’s not helping when the ABC News station (a liberal news station) just happens to be showing South Dakota and North Dakota being adversely affected by climate change in such a way that it compares to states such as Texas and Florida (obviously not possible). What goes through many peoples minds is that the only thing that these states have in common is that they are red states and for the most part, they are states that are Republican. These states also happen to be the very states that many Americans, affluent and otherwise, are moving to while fleeing the overwhelming liberal blue states. Just look at the dark red areas that ABC News is showing with their WORLD TEMPS NOW map. If only the whining Democrats would stop misleading Americans with their obvious propaganda, maybe we’d actually take climate change more seriously. The Democrats appear to be more afraid of losing congressional votes and the discretionary spending money that goes with all these people moving out of the blue states than they are with climate change. I’m sure that these hard working scientists did not intend for their research to be manipulated in such a diabolically cunning manner. It’s very subtle, and yet obviously deceptive. Climate change is real, but the Democrats really need to stop playing their games. COAL IS A FOSSIL FUEL, so please stop making up your statistics by manipulating the data. Socialism is not, and has never been the answer. If you truly think that Socialism is the best way going forward , then go live in Russia or China. Rs

By volume, the dry air in Earth's atmosphere is about 78.08 percent nitrogen, 20.95 percent oxygen, and 0.93 percent argon. A brew of trace gases accounts for the other approximately 0.04 percent, including the greenhouse gases carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone. CO2 and H2O both *resonate* to certain wavelengths then scatter the energy in ALL DIRECTIONS. You must agree solar incoming infrared radiation is 1,000,000x greater than Earth's black body radiation. CO2 resonates with INCOMING infrared and scatters more than half BACK TO SPACE, exactly the same as clouds shield the Earth. Therefore, _ipso facto,_ on a 24-hour basis, CO2 has a NET COOLING effect, as does the thermal Water Cycle of surface evaporation, cloud shielding, and release of vast amounts of energy to upper atmosphere and space.
How CORRUPT climate scientists only discuss black body.
Put another way, _every species alive today has survived known prehistoric periods of 4,000 to 10,000 ppm CO2, and methane is in only parts per BILLION,.

So, in a nutshell, the world got warmer, the glaciers melted, ocean levels rose, and countless landmass the world over were drowned because of Global Warming - that had nothing to do with humans. You need to factor in two things missing in your comment. One is the failure of the former president to take the pandemic seriously resulting in hundreds of thousands more deaths. The problem with facing Covid more effectively got off on the wrong foot by China suppressing information about it and two with a former US president who did not take the pandemic seriously, and worse spread misinformation to the public which only made some people less willing to cooperate with guidance from the medical community.

well what it should mean is, get your dependent ass out of whatever city you depend on and move back onto a farm. Then build a life that farm can naturally sustain. There’s already been research on that. The numbers show that it is not enough land for everyone to live on a farm. Partly because people refuse to live vegan.
Not everyone is able bodied either.
      Or financially able.
There are no solutions that can prevent us from reaching 2.0 Celsius in the 2050’s, (that El Niño will peak at 2.5-2.8 Celsius).

@@ImproveYourMagic cite that research then? Because you've delusionally asserted that vegan farming takes up less land than holistic farming. So your understanding is flawed and your position is delusional, and I have a feeling that's because there is no research and you are just trying to support a vegan narrative.
In reality, Veganism leads to the death and dismemberment of exponentially more animals than just eating livestock. You don't have to clear all the life off of farmland intended to feed livestock. So the only thing that ends up dying is the livestock.
The solution is for humans to live as part of the ecosystem off of the excess production of that ENTIRE ecosystem. Not just the plants, but all the insects and animals have to be part of the circle of life and decay that actual scientists call "The Carbon Cycle".
Without the Carbon Cycle creating life and storing carbon, all your other delusions can't support their own weight.
All the bleeding heart nonsense you've been taught about human's position in the global ecosystem is a lie.
Humans cannot sustainably continue to inhabit this planet without returning human society back to one supported by the small farm economy and a holistic approach to human nutrition.
That means very simply, we eat absolutely EVERYTHING that doesn't harm us in direct proportion not with how much we can possibly produce per acre of working land, but instead in proportion to how much excess production a naturally thriving ecosystem can produce without catastrophic disruption.
Animals, insects, fruit, plants, EVERYTHING. Your delusional fixation on cash crops and the limits of Industrial Agriculture to produce them in isolation of any sort of sustainable ecosystem IS climate change.
Get Woke. That's someone else's dream you are living in.

The only solution is to replace fossil fuels with more profitable energy, which is good for the ecosphere. It is possible. It is. I wrote Pluvicopia to show how to take our energy from a much larger energy source, which is the source of life. By enriching life, we can reabsorb CO2, but better than that, we produce for all our needs while releasing natural environments back to nature to rebuild biodiversity. It is easy to do. The physics are simple, and with a bit of work, anyone can understand them.

No, you have a problem with your brain? You can call anyone an "expert" you want, but the fact of the matter is they can not predict the future. They have been wrong over and over for 70 years now. You know what normal people do in that situation? They start over from the beginning and analyze if the "so called cause in the hypothesis is actually the cause". You can't come up with a solution if you don't know what is causing the problem. You definitely don't just keep doubling down. You for sure don't tell people your unproven theory is fact just because a group of people agree with you and ignoring every other possibility. That's not science at all , that's a cult or religion. So are you a member of the climate cult or climate religion? Climate Cult sounds better. Wake up! You are being played by world leaders.

Every single product or part of product produced in China for OUR market (Walmart for instance) means WE should bear a good % of the 'pollution cost'.

Answer, maybe lesser but then they would also be a lot poorer. So china has done it more than willingly. It is china carbon footprint, not west. If it would be been produced in west, west would have been richer and china etc poorer.
If we shall put the carbon footprint on the buyer, it should go both ways, and all countries import and export, even west is exporting to china, so then you have to add carbon footprint to china of things that has been produced in the west. So maybe it would not be so big difference.
